Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for preventing the ingress of water a sewage shaft according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such devices are used in wastewater management and in ventilated wastewater wells used.
- Sewer systems especially for contaminated wastewater, are designed to be ventilated and therefore have appropriate ventilation openings in their sewer manholes. Through these vents, there is a constant exchange of air between the ducts and the atmosphere. The constant exchange of air prevents the accumulation of harmful and odorous gases, such as hydrogen sulfide. Too little air circulation can increase the air humidity in the shaft, which leads to the formation of sulfuric acid in the presence of hydrogen sulphide through biochemical processes. Sulfuric acid is highly aggressive and corrosive to concrete and metal parts in the shaft, causing extreme damage to the sewer system. This exchange of air ensures that the microorganisms responsible for acid formation are limited in their death. Through these vents in the manhole covers but also surface water enters the sewer and that has disadvantages.
- WO 92/09753 now presents an insert for a manhole of a sewerage system, which closes the ventilation openings of the sewer covers during heavy rainfall.
- the insert is positioned below the manhole cover and consists of a sump cross section sealing trough of liquid-tight material.
- the cavity of the tub is connected via a plurality of laterally arranged air ducts with the located below the tub part of the shaft in connection.
- Each air duct is associated with a buoyant ball element which is carried by the water located in the tub and which closes or opens the respective air duct depending on the water level.
- In the bottom of the tub there is a water-drainage bore, through which water in the tub can drain directly into the sewer manhole.
- the throttle bore is designed in its cross-section so that less water runs off, as nachf insects surface water is added. This regulates the water level in the tub during rainfall and thus the position of the floatable ball element. At a low water level, the air ducts are thus opened and the gaseous air can escape from the sewer system and at a high water level in the tub, the ventilation ducts are closed and it can no longer penetrate surface water in the sewer manhole.
- this insert for a manhole has disadvantages. Thus, first of all the technical production effort and thus the production costs are very high, because a buoyant ball element is required for each ventilation duct.
- Malfunctions can be, for example, a permanent closure or a permanent opening of the ventilation ducts, which leads to an interruption of the air circulation or to an unwanted entry of surface water into the duct system.
- the increased wear shortens the life of the insert.
- so much sand and foliage penetrates into the tub, that the buoyant ball elements are blocked in their freedom of movement, so that it comes to the constant closure of the ventilation ducts and thus to functional failure.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to further develop a generic device for controlling the air circulation in a sewer manhole, which guarantees a trouble-free functioning and which requires a low production cost.
- This object is solved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Expedient refinements emerge from the subclaims 2 to 4.
- the inventive device for controlling the air circulation in a sewer manhole eliminates the disadvantages of the prior art. It is of particular advantage that only one central valve element is required for all lateral air openings of the valve unit. This saves high production costs. Of significant advantage, however, is the separation of leaves and sand from the penetrating surface water. It is particularly effective if the foliage and the sand deposited on a first retaining web in the leaf and sand trap and on a second retaining web at the passage to the closed valve unit. This is surface water freed from coarse impurities in the closed valve unit. This also increases the reliability of the valve unit, because the throttle opening in the bottom wall can no longer clog and the valve elements are no longer hindered in their freedom of movement.
- the new device is inside a vertical sewer manhole 1 arranged and closing the sewage shaft 1 Manhole cover 2 covered.
- Manhole cover 2 In the manhole cover 2 are several evenly arranged on a pitch circle ventilation holes 3.
- the device is inserted below the manhole cover 2 in the sewer manhole 1 and consists of a leaf and sand trap 4, a sealing plate 5 and a valve unit. 6
- the leaf and sand trap 4 is formed like a trough and facing with its open side of the manhole cover 2.
- the sand and leaf catcher 4 has a radial extent, with which all ventilation openings 3 in the manhole cover 2 are detected.
- the trough-like deciduous and sand trap 4 is closed at the bottom and has in its wall a plurality of uniformly spaced overflow openings 7.
- the overflow 7 are arranged in height so that above the bottom of the leaf and sand trap 4 a circumferential retaining web 8 remains.
- the sealing plate 5 is arranged wagerecht, attached via a plurality of retaining elements 9 in the sewer manhole 1 and carries the outer circumference of a fastened by means of a clamping ring, not shown sealing ring 10.
- This sealing ring 10 is designed as a plastic tube inside which a stabilizing and stiffening filling is introduced.
- a stabilizing and stiffening filling for example, elastic plastic profiles or a variety of granule-like particles can be used. Due to the shape, size and material of these profiles or particles, the sealing ring 10 can be optimized.
- the sealing plate 5 further has a centrally disposed passage opening 11, the ventilation cross-section of the sum of the openings in the manhole cover 2 and the leaf and sand trap 4 corresponds.
- This passage opening 11 is designed as a pipe socket which is flush with the underside of the sealing plate 5 and which projects beyond the sealing plate 5 upwards.
- a retaining web 12 is formed in the sealing plate 5.
- the valve unit 6 is arranged below the passage opening 11 of the sealing plate 5 and secured to the sealing plate 5.
- To the valve unit 6 includes a trough-shaped valve housing 13, which has a sufficient for air circulation distance to the inner wall of the sewer manhole 1 in its radial extent.
- the valve housing 13 has a preferably screwed-on bottom wall 14 with a throttle opening 15. This throttle opening 15 is covered on the inside of the valve housing 13 by a convexly curved screen member 16.
- In the upper third of the valve housing 13 are two opposite air openings 17, which are connected to each other via a vent pipe 18.
- the ventilation pipe 18 penetrates the interior of the valve housing 13.
- the ventilation pipe 18 is round or prismatic in cross-section and has on its underside a valve opening 19.
- This valve opening 19 is associated with a buoyant valve element 20 which is disposed below the valve opening 19. As shown in FIG. 3, this valve element 20 is held and guided by guide rods 21 in its position.
- the valve element 20 includes a floating body 22 and a sealing element 23, wherein the sealing element 23 faces the valve opening 19 and is matched in shape and size to the valve opening 19.
- the length of the guide rods 21 for the valve element 20 is chosen so that the float 22 can adapt to any water level in the valve housing 13.
- valve element 20 in an expedient embodiment a laterally hinged hinge 24 attached to the vent pipe 18. With it swings the valve element 20, supported by the buoyancy forces of the valve housing 13 in the befmdlichen Water around the axis of the hinge 24 in the direction of the valve opening 19th the ventilation pipe 18.
- the device according to FIG. 5 has the Valve housing 13 only an air opening 17 and the vent pipe 18 protrudes into the Interior of the valve housing 13 inside.
- This miter cut forms the valve opening 19.
- the buoyant valve element 20 carries.
- the attachment point of the buoyant valve element 20 is selected so that that the valve element 20, supported by the buoyancy forces of the water, in Direction of the valve opening 19 is pivotable.
- valve housing 13 in turn, two lateral air openings 17, which via a the interior the valve housing 13 penetrating vent pipe 18 connected to each other are.
- valve opening 19 On the underside of the vent pipe 18 is again the valve opening 19 with a sealing ring 25 made of a soft material.
- a holding basket 26 for a buoyant valve ball 27 is arranged below this valve opening 19. This holding basket 26 has guide properties, so that the valve ball 27 between its open position and its closed position experiences a forced guidance.
- the floats 22 As the water level rises, the floats 22 also rise until they seal the valve opening 19 in a sealed manner. Thus, no more surface water can get into the sewer manhole 1. If no new surface water runs after, also the valve housing 13 is emptied, because the water flows off via the throttle opening 15. With the sinking of the water level in the valve housing 13, the float 22 also sinks and releases the valve opening 19 again.

Abstract
