The desired measured values are determined in a short analysis section (t a ) upstream of the actual start of the washing program (time t ws ), in which the drum is moved in two short sections at different speeds. The speed of the first phase is equal to the speed selected for the crease protection, in the second phase, the drum is moved with the application speed A. The measured values from the first section correspond to the target state of a loosened, unraveled desired by the crease protection Amount of laundry items. When rotating the drum at application speed, the condition is recorded by measurement, which is to be avoided as a final condition. Extreme deviations caused by loading the drum with wet scrubbing are corrected within the control. By doing so, the control gauge is recalibrated at each wash. In particular, by comparing two measured values, comparative values are determined with which errors in recognizing a washing ring, caused by different, in particular very low loading quantities or weights, by textile-specific properties or other rather random characteristics of the laundry, can be largely avoided.
Claims (7)
- Method of operating a programmable washing machine with a laundry drum, which is rotatably arranged within a solution container and which is movable in dependence on program with different rotational speed profiles in two directions of rotation, and with a real time clock by way of which the user can determine the start or finish of the washing process, as well as with a crease protection procedure, which is downstream of the program segments of washing and spinning, for loosening the laundry in the drum, connected with an intermediate step in which the drum drive is driven by short and strong acceleration or braking pulses so as to produce detaching of a laundry ring which has arisen during spinning and lies against the drum inner wall, and in which the successful detaching of the laundry ring is checked by means of comparative measurement data which are automatically determined by the program control, characterised in that the downstream crease protection procedure can be manipulated by the user, wherein the user is guided and assisted by means of a display in the programming of the crease protection program segment in the manner that the program presets for the user, by way of the display, values for the parameters of rotational speed, duration of rotation, duration of rest phases and total duration, which are derived as favourable mean value internally of the control from a plurality of measurement data determined in comparative tests and filed in the memory, as well as from the washing program, which is selected by the user, inclusive of the additionally input parameters and from the loading of the drum ascertained by sensor, and that these preset values can be changed in upward or downward direction by the user.
- Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the start time and finish time of the entire washing program inclusive of the crease protection procedure or the duration of the downstream crease protection procedure are freely selectable by the user, as well as at the rotational speed, the duration of rotation and the time intervals between the rotational phases.
- Method according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the values, which are set by the user, for the crease protection procedure are compared internally of the control with the selected laundry care program inclusive of the additional parameters and checked for compatibility and that an incompatible value is indicated in the display.
- Method according to claim 3, characterised in that reference is made to an incompatible value by repeated flashing of the display presentation.
- Method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that for checking the detaching of the laundry ring from the drum inner wall mechanical, acoustic and/or optical measurement data are recorded at the beginning of the crease protection procedure in the reversing phases and these data are compared with corresponding measurement data which are obtained from a short analysis segment upstream of the washing program.
- Method according to claim 5, characterised in that the comparison data are recorded during rotation of the laundry drum at spreading rotational speed and at a rotational speed which was fixed by the user for the crease protection.
- Method according to claim 1, 2, 5 or 6, characterised in that on recognition of a laundry ring the laundry drum is temporarily moved with high acceleration and braking pulses and that on repeated registration of a laundry ring the laundry drum is, for detaching the laundry ring, moved with acceleration and braking pulses increased in steps.
