Definitions
- the present invention relates to the sealing flaps intended to equip openings in a wall, in particular an opening of introducing letters into a mailbox.
- a mailbox contains a front face presenting a top slot of mail introduction, withdrawal of it being effected by a front or rear door. Disposed outside, that is to say with the box-to-letters located at the fence of a property, and possibly sealed in a wall, the slot in front is likely to let rain in the event of wind or simply by runoff. The registered mail is so soggy.
- the present invention aims to propose another solution to the sealing problem.
- the invention relates first of all to a sealing flap for removably concealing a opening of passage of objects arranged in a wall of mailbox with one face exposed to projections of particles, the shutter comprising mounting means movable on the wall arranged to allow the maneuver between a functional position of masking, folded over the exposed face, and a functional position of unmasking, characterized in that it comprises a posterior capture lip projections arranged for, at least in masking position, extend across opening up to an area posterior to it and present, in the functional position of the wall, a surface-screen, catch and posterior runoff, forming all or part of a pipeline route of captured projections.
- the solution is to add, to the shutter classic, a third dimension, that is to say the lip posteriorly, which functionally constitutes a skirt forming a second part.
- the lip posterior component constituting the second component thus defines, with the top edge of the opening, a slot turned partially downward due to the decline that the posterior lip. Even if the posterior lip does not extend not up to a height corresponding to that of the edge higher, and so that the slot above remains then somewhat turned from a certain angle forward, the seal remains assured as long as the fall angle of the rain compared to a horizontal does not go down in below this slot direction angle.
- the invention applies regardless of the type of movement of the shutter, since the characteristics essential of the invention only need to define the position of closing or masking.
- the component can therefore, for example, being slidably mounted and / or tilting around from any of its edges or even be removable in normal running. Indeed, as the seal is ensured by the posterior lip, the support axis, of horizontal pivoting at the top of a shutter classic, which served as an annex to maintain plated the flap on the front side to form approximately an external diverting joint of the runoff, may now be omitted since the posterior lip exerts this sealing function.
- Posterior lip presents in general a great utility to seal against an upper edge of the opening, it can also equip any other edge different orientation, for example substantially vertical, to protect against wind gusts, including projecting drops of water or pushing back a flow that flows laterally at the opening. If necessary, he can be provided a fold, forming gutter substantially vertical, at the free end of the lip later. A lower opening edge can likewise be so equipped against the effects of wind gusts remontant.
- the posterior lip can even extend from one alone holding on several edges of the opening, even all, by forming a complete skirt.
- the invention is obviously not limited to the only letter insertion slot but is applicable to any opening in a wall exposed to rain or, more generally, to projections of particles of liquid or solid likely to cross the opening and come degrade or pollute a volume, open or closed, located opposite the exposed face.
- the flap, and in particular the posterior lip may, where appropriate, have a generally non-planar shape.
- the screen surface is preferably limited by a end portion folded towards it to constitute a anti-overflow side barrier.
- the posterior capture lip is arranged to present, in masking position on the wall, an end part situated opposite an area perimeter belonging to the wall and limiting an edge corresponding of the opening.
- the slot mentioned above, between the posterior lip and the considered edge of the opening, is partially turned towards the rear, so that particles, which would be flushed horizontally by the wind through the opening, will abut on the lip later.
- the posterior capture lip is arranged so that, also in the functional position of unmasking on the wall, said end portion being located opposite the said zone of periphery. sealing This is ensured throughout the operating range.
- Said end portion of the capture lip posterior preferably has a certain elasticity and can then have a profile side surface transverse crest provided for, during the passage of the flap from the unmasking position to the masking position, abut on a corresponding edge of the opening and slide on it by bending sideways to, once the past crest, deploy laterally next to the so-called surrounding area.
- the lip posterior capture presents a lower part associated with an opposite anterior lip, of capture of anterior runoff, to form a gutter.
- the gutter then comprises an evacuation passage to at least an end and / or an evacuation passage in an area intermediate. Both sources of runoff, posterior and anterior, thus converge towards a single channel, which simplifies the whole.
- the previous catch lip features advantageously an end edge arranged for, at less in the masking position, be pressed against the exposed side.
- the penetration of the previous runoff is so limited.
- the anterior capture lip is preferably in material having elasticity for maneuvering of the shutter. It can therefore be pressed elastically on the wall, which maintains the watertightness during time.
- the previous capture lip can also be mounted pivoting on the shutter. It can still be plated on the wall.
- the mounting means can be arranged so that the flap pivots around the end edge of the lip of previous capture.
- the mounting means comprise a hook having an end forming an axis geometric pivoting of the shutter and arranged to take a rotary support on a solid support relief of the wall. Since only a supporting relief is required without need of rotating bearing, one can thus easily implement the shutter on an existing mailbox.
- the hook can in particular be arranged to cooperate with a said supporting relief extending from an edge of opening, in a direction opposite to the exposed face.
- the supporting relief is for example an internal return of sheet metal of the wall, originally planned to round the edge to avoid any risk of injury to a user.
- the posterior capture lip can then comprise a stop shoulder, defining the position of unmasking, extending to a distance, from the end of the hook, less than a length of overflow of the supporting relief, the whole formed by the shoulder and the hook, constituting, for the relief of support, a pair of jaws able to open elastically under the effect of a mounting force by clipping exerted by an installer.
- the component can be mounted very easily by clipping.
- the posterior capture lip and the capture lip anterior can also form a pair of jaws arranged to hold the shutter in the mounting position on the opening, by imprisonment between them of the said relief of support, at least one of said capture lips having sufficient elasticity to move away from the other, and clip, respectively release, the relief of support, under the effect of a mounting force, respectively disassembly, exerted by an installer.
- the prior capture lip may include a thrust relief arranged to abut against the face exposed when the shutter arrives in unmasking position.
- This stop can in particular prevent that the user does not inadvertently disassemble the shutter.
- the stop relief prevents any decline of the flap and therefore any rear slip of the shoulder, likely to release it from the end of the support relief in pivoting the shutter, which also serves as security against a inadvertent disassembly.
- the end of the hook may include means axles arranged to cooperate with bearing means carried by the wall. If the wall is thus equipped with bearing means, the attachment of the flap is better ensured.
- the mounting means may form a pair of identical mounting means, functionally parallel and arranged on both sides of a median plane perpendicular to an overall extension plan of the shutter. The shutter is thus better guided during maneuvers.
- the flap may comprise an elastic jaw, recall in sliding masking position on a cam surface to which it is recalled by a oblique pressure force, and it can be arranged so that gravity, and / or an associated jaw forming a counter-support, provide at least part of the force of pressure. The flap thus easily returns to the position masking.
- a lower edge section advantageously comprises a groove, open towards the exposed face, of section cross-section adapted to form a baffle of blocking the rise of an ascending layer of particles pushed by eddies of air.
- the chicane is a pseudo-equivalent of the lip previous, since, even if the efficiency of the chicane is not guaranteed in case of continuous water flow, likely to overflow, it constitutes a small integrator tank, enough to handle bursts discontinuous, with falling water by gravity.
- the surface area of the posterior runoff is preferably, in operative position, with a return slope towards the opening. Runoff can thus be channeled towards the wall.
- the evacuation route may lead to the exposed face, through the opening, or from the side opposite to the exposed face.
- the passage evacuation of the gutter is preferably continued by a pipe opening under the shutter.
- the invention also relates to a mailbox, remarkable by the fact that it is equipped with a shutter according to the invention.
- FIG. 1 represents an upper part of a wall 1, here plane and arbitrarily said before, of a mailbox 10, here made of sheet metal or plastic material, left on all the figures, some of which front of the roof wall is also shown.
- the wall 1 is supposed to be in its classic functional position, that is vertical and perpendicular to the Figure 1.
- the explanations would remain valid, with transpositions close to reference orientations, if the wall 1 had a orientation other.
- the wall 1, having an outer face 2 exposed to bad weather, and a face 3 internal to the mailbox 10, has an opening 12 of mail drop or possibly of parcels.
- the opening 12 is here of shape rectangular, with an upper edge 13, a lower edge 14 and two lateral edges 15, of which only the right edge, in front view of the wall 1, is here visible.
- the upper edge 13 continues, towards the inside of the mailbox 10, that is to say to the opposite of the outer face 2, by a withdrawal or return of sheet forming a cornice or substantially horizontal flange 19 .
- the lower edge 14 continues, towards the inside of the mailbox 10, by a return of sheet metal in ascending ramp.
- the opening 12 is equipped with a movable flap 20 having a substantially planar body wall 21 and shape and size corresponding substantially to those of the opening 12, with, in the upper part, elements of mounting on the opening 12, allowing the operation of the shutter 20 between the vertical position shown, masking the the opening 12 with support on the outer face 2, and the position shown in Figure 2, of unmasking 12.
- Panel 20 is pivotal in this example, that is, for move to the open position, or unmasking, it pivots around its upper part to spread in particular its lower part at a distance from the wall 1 and so arrange a slot for the passage of mail.
- the body 21 of the flap 20 which extends, at rest, substantially in a vertical plane just in front of the plan of extension of the wall 1, extends, in part superior, by a posterior lip 30 crossing the upper part of the opening 12 and extending into oblique ascending towards the inside of the mailbox 10, that is, away from the opening 12.
- the posterior lip 30 has an end or upper edge 32 which extends, in the rest position of the component 20, to a height or altitude exceeding top edge 13.
- Figure 2 shows that this remains true for the open position.
- the posterior lip 30 has a cross-section substantially in a semicircle of diameter located, at rest, substantially in the plane of the wall 1, that is to say forms an open gutter towards the front, thus occupying a position corresponding to a pivoting a quarter turn around its axis longitudinal with respect to a gutter position classic.
- the opening pivot of about 60 degrees, visible in Figure 2 is insufficient to risk of passing the posterior ridge 32 under the level of the upper edge 13, especially as the diameter above is here centered above the upper edge 13.
- the lip 30 thus has a screen surface 31 of capture and runoff of water or any other particles passing in the slit subsisting between the vertex of the body 21 and the upper edge 13.
- the screen surface 31 could have been limited to the lower quadrant, in downward slope towards the opening 12 and passing through it for evacuate runoff water outside.
- the upper semicircle partially turned towards the bottom, constitutes a fold forming an anti-overflow barrier or gutter partially turned over which a sheet of water, pushed by the wind, does not would not benefit from gravity to stay there.
- the screen surface 31 furthermore has, in this for example, two longitudinal ribs, namely a rib or hook 50 and a shoulder 34, each having a function specific mechanics and each further constituting a anti-overflow edge wall for the screen surface 31.
- the hook 50 is located near the edge 32 and extends substantially vertically in the masking position, that is to say substantially constitutes a radius for the semicircle that forms the posterior lip 30.
- the croc 50 rests, by a free support end 51, on the rim horizontal 19 of the upper edge 13, to support the shutter 20 and allow rotation.
- the bearing end 51 rests, in the rest position of the flap 20, on a generator located at near the free edge of the support flange 19, that is to say at a distance from the wall 1.
- the opening pivoting of the shutter 20 causes a return sliding of the end 51 up to abut on the corner area between the inner face 3 and the support flange 19, this under the effect of an anterior lip 35, opposite to the lip posterior 30, and having an abutment relief, or edge, external or anterior 37 in support, on the side of the face external 2, on a surrounding area limiting the edge 13.
- the ridge previous 37 prevents, in the rest position, the decline of the bearing end 51 beyond the free edge, rear, of the support rim 19.
- the hook 50 is omitted and the support flange 19 door, or is replaced by, a ring (19) with section transversely in a quarter circle, centered on a horizontal generatrix constituted by the support line from the anterior edge 37 on the outer face 2.
- the part quarter-circle end of the posterior lip 30 is then shaped to slide pivotally on the ring (19).
- the body 21 has a shape and a mass adapted to exert a return torque to the vertical position of rest.
- the center of gravity of the shutter 20 located substantially at mid-height of the body 21, pivots downhill around the ridge previous 37, with resting motor torque at rest having a leverage substantially proportional to the half-height of the flap 20.
- the work of ascent above is however limited by the fact that the radius of the ring (19) is well below the half height of the body 21.
- the rod (19) includes, for part of its length, a section having a cross section no longer circular but flattened in height, that is to say forms a cam to decreasing radius to the inner face 3.
- the edge posterior 32 then comprises a corresponding section of elastic return towards the rest position, presenting a free edge (32) biased radially towards a position always internal to the ring (19).
- the energy stored in the elastic section when the flap 20 is opened provides an oblique pressure force on the stretch of rim (19) which, by wedge effect, lifts the lip posterior 30 by sliding pivoting on the rod (19), until abutting on the inner face 3.
- a specific jaw to elastically pinch the edge 13 or 15 or the rim 19, to ensure the return to the folded position, the jaw being for example the anterior edge 37 or a additional lip with V-groove resting on a ridge outer edge 15 to be opposed to the elastic section above the free edge (32).
- Figure 2 shows that the abutment shoulder 34, defining the position of unmasking, extends to a distance, compared to the end 51 of the hook 50, less than a length of overflow of the support relief 19 with respect to the wall 1.
- the assembly formed by the shoulder 34 and the hook 50 is a pair of jaws able to open elastically under the effect of a mounting force by clipping exerted by an installer.
- the recoil to the left of the shoulder 34, to free the free edge of the support relief 19 requires to exert, on the flap 20, a support force flexing the anterior lip 35.
- the anterior lip 35 has a surface of runoff 36, ending in edge 37, surface of runoff 36 which is turned towards the wall 1 and counterpart to the screen surface 31, although high extension less than for this one.
- the surfaces of runoff 31 and 36 are mutually connected at the bottom to form a bottom channel 33 collection of internal runoff and runoff external that goes through a gap remaining possibly between the front edge 37 in the position of rest and the outer face 2. Note that the function of stop could have been ensured by an element other than anterior runoff surface 36 with its ridge 37.
- the anterior lip 35 extends in one direction slightly folded back towards the wall 1, here with a curved shape, relative to the plane of extension of the body 21.
- the gutter 30, 33, 35 has at least one passage end discharge 41, or a passage 141 in an intermediate zone, as shown in Figure 5, with then end edges 133.
- Reference 42 designates a upstream section of an exhaust pipe downstream of passage 41, opening below the level of the lower edge 14, located here along one of the vertical edges 15.
- a lower edge portion 22 of the flap 20 comprises a substantially horizontal groove 23, open towards the wall 1, of cross section with a shape adapted for constitute a blocking baffle at the rise of a possible rising layer of particles pushed by swirls of air.
- the groove 23 has, at rest, an upper wall sloping down towards an edge connecting it to the rear face of the flap 20, in order to form an inverted gutter trapping the water of a rising tablecloth under the effect of the wind.
- FIGS. 4 and 5 for which the references from the counterparts of the form of implementation have been retained, with possible addition of the hundred or so, is differentiated by the fact that the lip posterior 130 with an upper end edge 132 extends only over a quarter of a circle, the rib forming a hook or support arm 150 being substantially horizontal in rest position and ending with a stretch end 151 with a tubular end 152 for receiving a spindle pin supported by two opposite ears 16 forming rotational bearings, projecting from the inner face 3 as the horizontal support relief 19, but in two vertical planes.
- the rib-hook 150 is also an abutment high against any overflow of a rising water table under the effect of wind.
- the mounting elements namely the lip 130 and the hook 150 with a tubular end 152, are planned in duplicate, functionally in parallel and arranged on either side of a median plane of the shutter 120 perpendicular to an overall extension plan of component 120.
- the representation of FIG. 132 may not have the central notch shown and it may even include, throughout its length, the minus a base section, anti-overflow, of the hook 150.
- passages 41 and 141 of the escape route open on the side of the face exposed 2, through the opening 12.
- the escape route could be open on the inner side 3 opposite to the exposed side 2.
- the passage 41, 141 of evacuation of the gutter 30, 35 or 130, 135 continues by driving 42, opening under the flap 20 and even, preferably, in lower part of the wall 1, with, in the second case, piercing an evacuation passage in a bottom wall of the mailbox 10.
