- B. a mullion and transom construction (eg., For a framework of a facade) and in particular a marriage of such posts and bars.
- Mullions and transoms as in the case of window and door frames and frameworks for facades are usually used separately, components that are connected to each other connect. This is done, for example, wooden posts and bars by means of wooden dowels, the pressed into holes from each other to be connected posts and bars and / or be glued. It is desired that spaces between connecting surfaces be avoided by posts and bars and the connecting surfaces completely touch. Furthermore, it is desirable that between joining surfaces of posts and bars act forces that press connection surfaces against each other or for a Pretension between posts and bars provide to join these joints without joints.
- post-and-bolt connections are used, in which holes a wooden post metal thread inserts are arranged and in these connecting pins be screwed.
- the connecting pins have heads at their free ends on.
- In the latch are provided starting from the for connection to the post Surface holes arranged to receive the connecting pins. Perpendicular to these holes holes are arranged in the latch, each with a bore for receiving of a connecting pin and in which are assembled in the Condition the head of a connecting pin extends.
- eccentric elements arranged to receive the heads of the connecting pins. Upon rotation of the eccentric elements forces are exerted on the heads of the connecting pins, the bolt and bias the post against each other.
- the holes in the bolt for receiving the eccentric elements must have a large diameter, which is usually in the range between 15 and 25 mm. This is required to eccentric elements to record with dimensions that, when rotated for a desired Provide preload. To avoid damage to the bolt and for a To ensure uniform surface finish, the holes are with the inside arranged eccentric elements after connection of the post and bolt with flat Closed elements. This is necessary because the eccentric elements to the finished assembly must be accessible.
- connecting pins In a comparable mullion-transom connection instead of eccentric elements arranged in comparable holes in the bolt nuts. Instead of connecting pins with heads, connecting pins used here have threads. To assemble are unscrew the nuts located in the locking holes on the connecting pins. This is difficult because the nuts only due to the arrangement in the bolt holes by repeated application of a tool, such as a ring wrench tightened can be.
- mullion-transom connection is for connection to a Post provided surface of a bolt provided with a recess in which a first Mounting plate made of metal is screwed.
- a second mounting plate made of metal is screwed to an associated surface of the post.
- To connect the post and the bolt the bolt is pushed onto the post, extending from a mounting plate extending structures in U-shaped receptacles of the other mounting plate intervention.
- a bias between the post and the bar is thereby created that the extending from the one mounting plate structures when pushed attack the bolt respectively on an inclined surface and thereby when pushing of the bar forces are generated, which press the post and the bar against each other.
- It is disadvantageous that for attaching the mounting plate of the bolt this consuming to edit.
- Tolerances tight to ensure that when sliding the bolt the desired bias is generated.
- this mullion-and-tie connection can only used where the bolt can be pushed onto the post.

- the Tops of the latch 48 outgoing holes 56 are the lengths of locating pins in Essentially, bolt widths (i.e., dimensions of the bolts 48 perpendicular to the drawing planes of Figs. 13 and 14).
- Another advantage of this design of the holes 56 is that the connections of the posts 46 and the latch 48 even then can still be adjusted if 48 more elements are arranged on the bars. The openings 56 and thus the fixing pins 36 remain accessible even then.
- covers are used. Such covers can be glued or attached to the fixing pins be secured if they have, for example, a hexagon socket.
- Fig. 15 shows a schematic cross-sectional view of a mullion-transom construction according to Fig. 13 of a window or a facade in the range of fasteners of windows or facade elements 68.
- the reference numerals used in this figure designate elements, which are comparable to the elements shown in Figs. 11 and 12 with the same reference numerals are.
- a connecting body 2 is arranged and by means of a Fixing pin 36 secured, extending through a bore 56 in the latch 48 and one in the Connecting body 2 formed Fixierstattö réelle 4 extends. To the opening area of Bore 56 flush with the pointing in Fig. 15 to the right surface of the bolt 48 to close, the fixing pin 36 ends within the bolt 48. Otherwise, the above apply made statements accordingly.
- Figs. 16 and 17 show, comparable to Figs. 13 and 14 compounds of posts 46 and bars 48 for a curved mullion and transom construction. Unlike the embodiments Figures 13 and 14 are comparable in the embodiments of Figures 16 and 17 to the embodiments of Figs. 8 and 9, bores 56 from outsides the latch 48 is arranged in these. As explained above, this arrangement has the holes 56 has the advantage that the bore 56 and fixing pins 36 for securing connecting bodies 2 are obscured in the bars 48 by elements attached to the bars 48, for example, for the attachment of glass panes or facade elements attached. The length of fixing pins to be used in such a construction is achieved determines the respective depth of the groove in the region of a bore 56. Again, it is possible to have one Set of fixation pins of different lengths to define.
