Definitions

  • the invention relates to an outwardly opening fuel injector for a direct-injection internal combustion engine, in particular a spark-ignited internal combustion engine the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • DE 100 12 970 A1 discloses a method for forming an ignitable fuel air mixture known at the fuel in at least two subsets in the Combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine is introduced, wherein the Closure body of an injection nozzle after the injection process a subset can be brought into its closed position. The fuel jet is thereby accelerated until it exits, because the nozzle opening with a curved or parabolic Outlet cross section to the outlet steadily tapered.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object simple measures at the fuel injector of a direct injection Internal combustion engine, through which an improvement combustion achieved despite manufacturing tolerances can be.
  • the fuel injection nozzle according to the invention is characterized by an outwardly opening closure body, a nozzle housing with a nozzle seat and a nozzle needle, wherein at the fuel injection nozzle by means of the nozzle needle movable closure body on a sealing surface of the nozzle seat during a closed position, and during a Operating position is moved outward, leaving the fuel through a formed gap between the nozzle seat and the closure body in the form of a hollow cone in a Combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine is introduced, wherein on Nozzle seat and / or on the closure body in the region of the sealing surface at least one turbulence cavity is provided.
  • the turbulence increase a reinforced Breaking open the fuel lamella and thus achieving smaller drops, whereby by the smaller drops an increased evaporation and a reduction in penetration the fuel drops achieved, leaving a fuel piston wetting at a late fuel injection in the compression stroke is reduced.
  • a turbulence cavity is provided such that two turbulence cavities during an operating position relative to Beam axis are arranged offset from one another. This will be as well as the atomizing properties of the fuel in the Combustion chamber amplifies, reducing the characteristics of the motor Combustion can be further improved.
  • the nozzle seat and on the closure body of the fuel injector at least two turbulence cavities in or immediately before the sealing surface of the nozzle seat and at least two turbulence cavities in or immediately before the sealing surface of Closure body in a stroke direction along the sealing surface successively designed such that in each case two turbulence cavities during an operating position of the fuel injector are arranged opposite one another.
  • the atomization properties of the injected Fuel droplets amplified, which through the targeted turbulence generation throughout the area of the injected Fuel jet a occurring by manufacturing tolerances Turbulence difference covers and thus an approximation the necessary spray pattern is enough.
  • the am Seat and arranged on the closure body turbulence cavities be formed such that each of the two cavities during an operating position relative to the beam axis arranged offset from each other.
  • the in or immediately before the sealing surface of the nozzle seat and / or in or immediately before the sealing surface of the closure body arranged turbulence cavity in the form of an inwardly formed Groove formed along a peripheral surface.
  • injectors made in internal combustion engines with Ignition can be used in which the fuel as Hollow cone injected and in particular a beam-guided Burning process is present.
  • the injection of the fuel such that in the end the fuel hollow cone formed a toroidal vortex is, wherein in the combustion chamber of such an internal combustion engine a Spark plug is arranged such that the electrodes of the Spark plug outside the injected hollow fuel cone lie and protrude into the formed toroidal vortex.
  • a Spark plug is arranged such that the electrodes of the Spark plug outside the injected hollow fuel cone lie and protrude into the formed toroidal vortex.
  • Fig. 1 shows a fuel injection nozzle 1 with a nozzle needle 2 and a closure body 5 wherein a housing 3 of the Fuel injector 1 in the combustion chamber side area a Nozzle seat 4, which in a closed position of the closure body 5 by its application to a sealing surface the fuel injector closes.
  • the closure body 5 is at its upper end through the nozzle needle 2 with a not shown adjusting device connected.
  • a piezoelectric actuator is used, which is under electrical Voltage expands and one according to the applied voltage Operating stroke of the closure body 5 can cause.
  • the Tightness of the fuel injector is mechanically through ensures a return spring, not shown.
  • Of the Closure body is by means of the nozzle needle 2 in an operating position brought, causing a gap 6 between the closure body 5 and the nozzle seat 4 sets.
  • the closure body 5 is in an operating position (Open position) brought by means of a stroke direction 9, so that the fuel through the gap 6 in a combustion chamber. 8 can flow into it.
  • the turbulence cavities shown in FIG. 2 7 are both in the sealing surface of the closure body. 5 as well as formed in the sealing surface of the nozzle seat 4, that the fuel jet passing through the gap 6 10 flows with a turbulence increase in the combustion chamber 8, which intensifies the decay of the fuel.
  • Nozzle escaping fuel jet 10 is according to Fig. 3 injected into the combustion chamber 8 with an increased turbulence, so that small droplets when entering into form the combustion chamber 8, whereby optimal combustion of the injected fuel is achieved.
  • the inventive Fuel injector is preferred in internal combustion engines used with spark ignition, in which a so-called. beam-guided combustion process is present. Accordingly, the Fuel in a stratified charge preferably in the compression stroke so injected that with the injected Hollow fuel cone a toroidal vortex in the combustion chamber. 8 is trained. In such a combustion process, a for ignition provided spark plug in the combustion chamber.
  • Fig. 5 and 6 are further embodiments of the invention shown in the in the sealing surface of the closure body two turbulence cavities 7 are mounted, with which an increased turbulence of the injected fuel jet is obtained, wherein according to FIG. 6, the attached Turbulence cavities 7 are arranged in a region which is farther away from the combustion chamber than the region according to FIG Fig. 5 and 5a.
  • the turbulence cavities in the Sealing surface of the nozzle seat attached so that in the Hollow fuel cone in the outer area a turbulence increase is achieved, so that for the spray-guided combustion required toroidal vortex reinforced trained becomes.
  • the goal is to create a symmetrical vortex and a to achieve even distribution of fuel in the outer area so that an undesirable tilting of the formed Vertebra is prevented. Furthermore, thereby the formation strands are avoided at the end of the hollow fuel cone.
  • the fuel injection nozzle is designed such that the emerging from the injection nozzle hollow fuel cone with a Beam angle between 70 ° and 100 ° is formed.
  • the turbulence cavities have a depth of 30 ⁇ m both in the nozzle seat area as well as in the closure body area.
