Abstract

Der erfindungsgemäße UV-Strahler (1) weist ein zur Erzeugung von einseitigen dielektrischen Barriere-Entladungen ausgelegtes im wesentlichen rohrförmiges, beidseitig gasdicht verschlossenes Entladungsgefäß (2) auf und jeweils mindestens eine längliche, parallel zur Längsachse des Entladungsgefäßes orientierte Innen- (6) und Außenelektrode (8a, 8b). Wenn man sich den rohrförmigen Teil (5) des Entladungsgefäßes (2) gedanklich durch einen imaginären Längsschnitt in zwei gleiche Hälften aufgeteilt vorstellt, ist die mindestens eine Innenelektrode (6) mittels Halterungen (7) auf der Innenseite der ersten gedachten Rohrhälfte angeordnet und die mindestens eine Außenelektrode (8a, 8b) auf der Außenseite der zweiten gedachten Rohrhälfte und zwar zumindest im Fall jeweils genau einer Innen- und einer Außenelektrode im wesentlichen zueinander diametral. Dadurch und durch die Form bzw. Anzahl und Anordnung der Außenelektrode(n) wird eine gerichtete Abstrahlcharakteristik erzielt
