The DE 297 19 153 U1 describes a contact socket for a tab with a rectangular cross-section pin with a predetermined width and thickness. The contact socket comprises a contact element which forms a longitudinal axis. The contact element has two resilient contact tongues which approach each other along the longitudinal axis and each have a contact zone intended for this purpose are to contact the connector pin clamped between them. The contact zones are opposite each other. The contact socket further comprises a support element which is tubular and bounded by walls which surround the contact element. In the support member, the resilient contact tongues are accommodated. The contact tongues are acted upon by supporting tongues. The support member has on two opposite walls in each case a locking tongue which engage between the resilient contact tongues and whose contact zones, as long as the tab is not inserted, biased hold at a distance from each other, which is less than the thickness of the inserted plug pin. The locking tongues should also lead the tab during insertion. They are bent inwardly to the contact point area and are connected to the associated walls of the insertion of the contact terminals near ends.

In the EP 0 352 871 B1 is a contact socket for a tab with a rectangular cross-section pin pin, called in the description box spring explained. The contact socket comprises a contact element having a base portion from which emanate two resilient contact tongues extending along the longitudinal axis from the first end and approaching each other. The contact tongues form contact zones at their free ends. The tongues strive, starting from the contact zones, apart. The contact element and in particular the resilient contact tongues are enclosed by a so-called over-spring (support element), wherein the over-spring has over-spring arms which rest on the contact tongues and additionally support them.

In the two offset perpendicular to the contact springs walls of the over-spring two indentations are present, which keep the contact tongues biased at a distance, as long as no pin is inserted. The indented areas are created by having two parallel cuts in the wall of the over-spring so that there is a strip connected to the wall of the box spring that is deformed towards the contact tongues.

A disadvantage of both embodiments is that although it is possible by the indented areas or locking tongues to keep the contact tongues on bias, so that when the plug pin plugged in a high contact pressure is achieved, but that there is the possibility in the lateral direction that the plug pin vibrates, so that a corresponding wear occurs and noise may occur due to the vibrations during operation.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a contact socket, which also ensures that the contact tongues hold a plug pin with a high biasing force in operation between them, so that a favorable electrical connection is made, which is also suitable, however, vibrations , which occur in operation on the connector pins to attenuate.

This object is achieved in that the locking tongues are resilient,
that the free distance between the two locking tongues before insertion of a connector pin is less than the width of the connector pin and
in that the locking tongues contact the plug pin in the inserted state along the longitudinal axis in a contact region which is further offset from a first end of the support element than the contact zones of the contact tongues.

An advantage of this design is that the pin, which is accommodated in the contact socket, is resiliently acted upon both via the contact tongues and on the locking tongues, so that a secure support is provided.

This ensures that the pin can already be introduced to a considerable extent, so that the pre-centering and insertion must not be made under the full biasing force. In addition, vibrations are effectively damped, which occur transversely to the direction of action of the contact tongues. Namely, such vibrations can cause fretting corrosion or wear in the contact zones, whereby the contact resistance is significantly deteriorated. Since the locking tabs touch the plug pin during insertion later than this, the contact zones of the contact tongues, initially only the bias of the contact tongues to overcome during insertion and only later the contact pressure of the locking tabs. The locking tongues are with their the insertion or the support element near end connected to the two walls, which are opposite to each other and are not used to support the contact tongues biased. The free ends of the locking tongues thus point away from the insertion opening or the first end of the support element. In the prior art after the EP 0 352 871 E1 and the DE 297 19 153 U1 practice the indentations or locking tongues exert no forces on the lateral surfaces of the pin, since they are relatively stiff, ie provide no spring travel available. Moreover, the support of the contact tongues in the region of their contact zones, so that the indentations may only lead the connector pin laterally to keep the forces that are to be overcome during insertion of the connector pin, still reasonable to keep. Otherwise, there would be a risk that the insertion of the pin would be the same bending.

In an embodiment of the invention, it is provided for a first embodiment that
  • a contact element comprises a hollow rectangular base portion having a first end and a second end and four side walls facing each other in pairs,
  • wherein each of the first end of the base portion of two opposing side walls protrudes a resilient contact tongue along the longitudinal axis, which approach each other away from the first end and opposite to each form a contact zone.

In this embodiment, the resilient contact tongues are associated with the contact element. This is designed by the hollow rectangular shape of the base portion according to rigid, in addition, the support via the contact element enclosing the support element takes place. It is also possible because of this design, to make the contact element and the support element made of different materials. It is advantageous, for example, if the support element is made of a stainless steel and is formed, for example, from a sheet, so that a box shape is formed, wherein the locking tongues also cause the predetermined position is met and no rotational displacement can take place. The contact element can be made of a material having a good electrical conductivity.

Such a construction is particularly important, since they are extremely small sockets intended, for example, for connector pins in which the rectangular cross-section has a width in the range of 1 mm and a thickness in the range of 0.6 mm.

In an embodiment of the invention it is provided that the means for electrically conductive connection of a conductor are formed by integrally formed with the second end of the base portion of the contact element Crimplaschen.

In addition, Crimplaschen are still provided for an insulated conductor, which serve for crimping with the insulation.

A further embodiment provides that the support element causes the connection to the conductor, while the contact element has only two mutually connected contact tongues, which are accommodated in the support element. In this case, it is provided that the means for electrically conductive connection of a conductor are formed by crimps formed integrally with the support element.

In order to facilitate the insertion in both embodiments, it is provided that the contact tongues subsequently diverge again from the contact zone in the direction of the insertion opening of the contact socket.

In order to be able to design the insertion in a more targeted manner, it is further provided that the contact tongues terminate in front of an insertion opening of the support element and that the support element form guide surfaces for a plug pin to be inserted by wall sections of the two contact tongues overlapping inwardly on the free ends of the contact tongues. This prevents accidentally the pin can get under the reeds.

In the following description of the two intended embodiments of a contact socket according to the invention, contact element 1, 101 is to be understood in each case as the element which comprises the contact tongues 3, 103. The support member 16, 116 is always the element that receives the contact element 1, 101. The Crimplaschen can thus either the contact element, as in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 6 is provided, or the support member, as in the embodiment according to FIG. 7 is intended to be assigned.

Both embodiments of the contact socket serve to be connected to a tab having a pin 5, as in FIG. 8 is shown and which has a width B and a thickness D. The width B is, for example, 1.2 mm, while the thickness D is 0.63 mm.

Several of the contact bushes according to the invention are received in a housing of a coupling and connected to a further coupling part which has a corresponding number of connector pins.

The form of training according to FIGS. 1 to 6 described, with reference to all the above figures.

The contact socket according to this embodiment comprises a contact element 1, which forms a longitudinal axis 2, which also represents the longitudinal axis for the entire contact socket. The contact element 1 comprises a base portion 6 which has a first end 7 and a second end 8 and is box-shaped in cross-section, i. forms a rectangular hollow profile having the side walls 9, 10, 11, 12. The two side walls 9 and 12 form a pair and face each other. Likewise, the two side walls 10, 11 form a pair and face each other, but are arranged at right angles to the two other side walls 9, 12. From the first end 7 of the two opposite side walls 9, 12 are contact tongues 3, which approach each other with increasing distance from the first end 7 and form contact zones 4 in front of their free end, which face each other. Starting from the contact zones 4, the contact tongues 3 strive away from the first end 7, so that a kind of insertion funnel is formed. The contact element 1 has, with respect to its base portion 6, a second end 8, which represents an edge running at right angles to the longitudinal axis 2. A transition section 15, which ends in first crimp lugs 13 for a conductor to be connected, adjoins the base section 6 from the first end 7 and the second end 8. At a distance to join two second Crimplaschen 14 for the isolation of the cable containing the conductor.

The contact element 1 is punched in one piece from a sheet metal part and formed.

It is preferably made of a material having favorable electrical conduction properties in the above embodiment.

The base portion 6 and the protruding therefrom contact tongues 3 are enclosed by a likewise rectangular in cross-section hollow profile, which is the support member 16. The support member 16 has a first end 17 and a second end 18. It further comprises the walls 19, 20, 21, 22, wherein the walls 19 and 21 are opposite and overlap the contact tongues 3. In the two walls 20, 22 arranged at right angles thereto, there are first windows, which are not designated in detail, into which the contact element projects with projections on the side walls 10, 11. Further, the support member 16 in the region of the walls 20, 22 openings in which engage from the side walls 10, 11 of the contact element protruding retaining projections 24, so that the contact element 1 and support member 16 are firmly connected.

From the wall 21, a retaining tongue 23 is arranged prominently. In the two walls 20, 22 are windows 25 which reveal by means of punching out locking tongues 26, the locking tongues 26 are connected with their first end 17 near the end of the corresponding wall 20, 22 and otherwise inward (on the longitudinal axis 2 to) in the direction of the contact tongues 3 arranged transversely thereto, so that they grip between them and hold them prestressed at the spacing A of their contact zones 4, this distance A being slightly smaller than the thickness D of the plug pin 5 FIG. 8 , The locking tongues 26 strive with their free ends in the window 25 to each other and form contact areas with which they touch the side edges of the plug pin 5, wherein the in FIG. 4 apparent distance C, as long as no pin 5 is inserted, is less than the width B of the pin 5 according to FIG. 8 , The contact region of the locking tongues 26, with which they touch the side surfaces of the plug pin 5 in the inserted state, is further away from the first end 17 of the support element 16 along the longitudinal axis 2 than the contact zones 4 of the contact tongues 3 of the contact element 1 from this first end 17 This ensures that when inserting a pin 5 according to FIG. 8 this first with its broad sides, ie with its top and bottom, the contact tongues 3 in the region of contact zones 4 touches and the contact tongues 3 further apart and later meets the resilient locking tongues 26 and pushes them apart, the connector pin in the fully inserted state is acted upon by both the contact tongues 3 and the locking tongues 26 and thus held securely.

Starting from its front first end 17 has the support member 16 on the two opposite walls 19, 21 inwardly bent wall portions 27, 28, which extend to just before the free ends of the contact tongues 3 and thus form an insertion opening 29, which ensures that Inserting a pin that can not frontally strike against the contact tongues 3.

The support member 26 is preferably made of a stainless steel, also starting from a sheet by punching and bending. The seams can also be welded together, this also applies to the contact element 1 in the region of the base portion 6, where the walls can be connected to each other by welding points or seams.

At the in FIG. 7 2, the contact element 101 is reduced to mutually connected contact tongues 103 with the contact zones 104. These are received in a support element 116 which holds the contact element 101. The essential difference from the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 6 is that the Crimplaschen 113 and 114 are not connected to the contact element 101, but to the support member 116, that is integrally formed with this, are. Otherwise, the description applies to the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 6 mutatis mutandis to the embodiment according to FIG. 7 , but in the training according to FIG. 7 Position characters are used, which compared to those in the embodiment according to the FIGS. 1 to 6 are increased by the numerical value 100. Regarding their description, reference is made to the description of the FIGS. 1 to 6 directed.
