Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device for removal of socks, stockings, tights or the like and more particularly compressive orthoses made in one elastic knitted textile material which are prescribed for patients for the treatment of pathologies circulatory.
In the treatment of venous ulcer, varicose veins, lymphoedema, and more generally in the treatment of venous insufficiency superficial or deep, we know many orthoses made to measure in an elastic material, classically a knitted mesh. In the following document, is meant by compressive orthosis called "low or compression socks ", stockings covering the thigh and the calf, tights covering both limbs lower and abdomen up to the waist, in one piece, or socks covering the calf alone.
Compressive orthoses being prescribed for the treatment of circulatory diseases that affect more particularly elderly patients whose mobility is often limited and, at muscular tissue is reduced, their donning and removal requires the help of a third person. Besides the fact that the assistance of a third person is badly perceived by the patients, the inability of the latter to don and remove these compressive orthotics leads doctors to to prescribe low coefficient compressive orthoses compression, or even to no longer prescribe these orthotics, while wearing orthotic devices with sufficient compression coefficient provides results very satisfying in many pathologies.
The problem of threading these orthoses being otherwise treated, the object of the invention is to propose a device for simple use and little realization expensive, to remove a compressive orthosis or the like on a member of a patient.
In this respect, and in accordance with the invention, the device for removing socks, stockings, tights or similar, such as compressive orthoses called "low or compression socks "made of a material elastic knitted fabric which are prescribed for patients for the treatment of circulatory diseases, is remarkable in that it consists of a sleeve comprising a rod provided at its first end with a handle and at its second end a curved spatula crescent-shaped, cross-section decreasing from tip to heel, said rod being secured to the spatula on its upper face close to his heel, and in that the spatula presents a convex upper surface from its tip to the stem and globally flat from the stem to the heel and a Concave underside to create extra thickness between the lower and upper surfaces of the spatula in front of the stem thus forming a dent on the face top of the spatula so that, the tip of the spatula being inserted between the sock and the calf of a patient, said sock is removed from the foot by a descending vertical movement combined with a movement pronation or supination of the spatula.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the device for removing a compressive orthosis according to the invention;
- Figure 2 is a horizontal sectional view taken along the line II / II 'of Figure 1.
- FIG. 3 is a partial sagittal sectional view of the device according to the invention shown in FIG. 1,
figure 2, la spatule 4 présente une section transversale
une bosselure 9 sur la face supérieure 7.The device for removing socks, represented in FIG. 1, consists of a handle 1 comprising a
It goes without saying that the spatula 4 may have a convex upper face 7 from its tip 5 to the
angle de 157° avec la tige 2.Moreover, with reference to FIG. 2, the spatula 4 is secured to the
It goes without saying that the blind hole 11 can be practiced
on the upper face 7 of the spatula 4 so that
its axis merges with the axis A of the
According to a particular embodiment variant

represented in the figures, the
Nevertheless, it has been found that a following device
the invention whose
We will now explain, with reference to FIG. the operation of the device according to the invention for removal of a sock type orthosis covering the calf.
The patient grasps the device by the handle 3 and positions the tip 5 of the spatula 4 between the orthosis and his calf. The patient then operates a downward vertical movement as indicated by the arrow b shown in FIG. 1, combined, in view of the symmetry of the calf, with a pronation or supination movement of the spatula 4, represented on the double arrow c of Figure 1, until the tip of the latter reaches the heel of the patient's foot. A movement of pronation and supination means a movement of the spatula 4 from outside to inside and from inside to outside, that is to say a movement of the spatula 4 of the calf towards the patient's sagittal plane. and respectively a movement of the spatula 4 of the calf outwards.
The patient then continues his downward vertical movement until the tip 5 of the spatula 4 is positioned under the heel of the patient's foot, said spatula 4 being always positioned between the orthosis and the calf of the patient, so that the heel of the patient takes support in the
It is understood that when the open end the orthosis is between the kick and the arch plantar of the patient, the latter can definitely clear the ortesis of his foot by placing the heel 6 of the spatula 4 on the ground, thus relieving him of the weight of his leg and then moving back and forth of his foot. Moreover, it goes without saying that the device according to the invention can advantageously be used to put an orthosis on the foot of a patient in order to facilitate the passage of the latter between the coup de foot and heel of said patient.
Finally, it goes without saying that the spatula 4 of the device for the withdrawal of socks according to the invention can be obtained in any type of material such as a material plastic, metal, horn of beef or the like, and that the examples we have just given are only particular illustrations, in no way limiting the fields of application of the invention.
