Description

The present invention relates to a metal door frame with a fastening system for fixing it in the bay of a wall, and a method for mounting a metal door jamb in a bay of a wall.

État de la techniqueState of the art

Two methods are known for integrating a metal door jamb into a wall. The first method is to build the wall around the jamb. The second method is to build a bay in the wall and mount the jamb in this bay once the wall is completed.

Today, we use less and less the first method because it is difficult to ask jambs while masonry work is in progress. Indeed, the doorframe may be damaged and it is generally not possible to ensure proper adjustment of the doorframe.

If the second method is used, it is necessary to fix the door jamb in the bay before being able to fill the space between the metal frame and the surfaces of the wall delimiting the bay, using a concrete or a mounting foam. It is known to prop up the doorframe in the wall bay until hardening of the sealing compound. However, if the sealing compound is a concrete, the props must remain in place for several days, which naturally represents an inconvenience on a building site. It is also known to fix the metal frame to anchors anchored in the masonry on both sides of the free bay. For a single door block, there may be six to twelve brackets. Each of these tabs is welded to an amount of the metal frame after adjustment of the latter in the bay. However, since the space between the jambs of the doorframe and the side faces which delimit the bay is normally reduced to a minimum, this welding work is far from easy. It is therefore necessary to have an experienced welder to perform this work. In addition, welding work may damage the door frame and require on large sites to obtain a fire permit from the direction of the site.

Résumé de l'inventionSummary of the invention

An object of the present invention is to provide a system and a method that simplify the mounting of a metal frame in a bay of a wall. According to the present invention, this objective is achieved by a metal doorframe with a fastening system according to claim 1, respectively by a method for mounting a metal doorframe in a wall bay according to claim 11.

Such a metal frame according to the invention comprises a top rail and two uprights and its fastening system to fix it in a bay of a wall. This fastening system comprises a clamp with a fixed support lug, which is fixed on a surface of the wall defining the bay, and a movable clamping jaw. A counter-support protrudes from the crossbar of the doorframe and extends advantageously, but not necessarily over the entire length of the crossbar. The movable clamping jaw of the clamp grasps against this support against the crossbar and press against the fixed support lug.

It will be appreciated first that it is possible to fix the metal frame in the bay without welding work by means of this system. In addition, by loosening slightly all the clamps, one can easily and quickly make changes in the lateral and / or vertical position of the doorframe during assembly. By inserting more or less thick calibration pieces between the support lugs and the central rib, it is possible to complete the adjustment of the doorframe in its bay. It will also be appreciated that after its final tightening, such a clamp provides a solid anchor point of the doorframe in its bay.

In an advantageous embodiment, the clamp comprises a clamping bracket and a clamping bolt. The shank of the clamping bolt passes through a through-hole in a first leg of the clamping bracket and has a threaded end which is threaded into a threaded hole in the fixed support lug. The head of the clamping bolt bears on the first branch whose end free form mobile clamping jaw. The free end of the second branch of the clamping bracket forms a lever support on the fixed support lug. The passage hole for the bolt rod in the first branch is preferably an oblong through hole oriented in the longitudinal direction of the first branch.

The clamp may also include a support bracket, a first branch forms a bracket fixed flat on a surface of the wall defining the bay upwards, and a second branch forms the fixed support lug of the clamp. The fixing lug advantageously comprises oblong holes for fixing screws, these oblong holes being oriented perpendicularly to the support lug to allow easy adjustment of the position of the support lug. The first and second legs of the support bracket preferably have unequal lengths and both comprise both elongated holes for fastening screws and a threaded hole for screwing in a clamping bolt. Each of the two branches can then perform the function of fixing lug and support lug, so that we have on the same support bracket two support lugs of different lengths.

An alternative embodiment of the clamp comprises a lateral attachment plate carrying the fixed support lug. The lateral attachment plate is screwed close to the top rail on a surface of the wall laterally delimiting the bay. The counter-support of the transom of the doorframe is supported on the fixed support lug, which advantageously consists of a bracket branch connected to the bracket to form a three-sided corner.

Preferably, the fastening system further comprises for each of the two jambs of the jamb, a positioning plate fixed to the ground and engaging the lower end of the upright.

  1. a) pour chaque montant du chambranle, on agence sur le sol ou sur une surface du mur délimitant la baie à proximité du sol, une plaque de positionnement inférieure, de façon à définir un point d'appui fixe inférieur pour l'extrémité inférieure de chaque montant;
  2. b) on agence, sur le linteau de la baie ou sur une surface du mur délimitant la baie à proximité du linteau, au moins une patte d'appui, de façon à définir un point d'appui fixe supérieur apte à engager un contre-appui faisant saillie de la traverse supérieure du chambranle;
  3. c) on pose le chambranle dans la baie, de façon à ce que l'extrémité inférieure de chacun des deux montants engage une des plaques de positionnement inférieures, et que le contre-appui sur la traverse supérieure du chambranle prenne appui sur la patte d'appui;
  5. e) on ajuste la position du chambranle dans la baie;
To mount according to the present invention a metal frame in a bay of a wall, it is advantageous to proceed as follows:
  1. a) for each jamb of the jamb, a positioning plate is placed on the floor or on a surface of the wall delimiting the bay near the ground; lower, so as to define a lower fixed support point for the lower end of each amount;
  2. (b) on the lintel of the bay or on a surface of the wall defining the bay in the vicinity of the lintel, at least one supporting lug is arranged so as to define an upper fixed support point capable of engaging a counter support protruding from the upper cross member of the doorframe;
  3. c) the door frame is placed in the bay, so that the lower end of each of the two uprights engages one of the lower positioning plates, and the counter-support on the upper cross-member of the doorframe bears on the support leg; 'support;
  4. d) using a movable clamping jaw associated with the support lug to maintain the counter-support bearing on said support lug.
  5. e) adjust the position of the doorframe in the bay;
  6. f) definitively clamping the movable clamping jaw of each of the clamps; and
  7. g) the empty spaces between the door frame and the wall surfaces delimiting the bay are filled with a sealing compound.

Description d'une exécution préféréeDescription of a preferred execution

In FIG. 1, the reference 10 locates a wall with a bay 12 for a door. In this bay 12 is arranged a metal frame 14 comprising in known manner two uprights 16, 16 '(the upright 16' is hidden by the upright 16) and an upper rail 18 (the upper rail 18 is also hidden by the amount 16). The frame 14 comprises on each side a flange 20, 22. Between the flanges 20, 22 extends a central rib 24 which protrudes with respect to the uprights 16, 16 'and to the upper cross member 18 on the outer side of the doorframe 14. It should be noted that the bay 12 is slightly taller and wider than the door frame 14, that is to say that there is a gap 26 between the upper rail 18 and the lintel 28 and between the uprights 16, 16 and the surfaces of the wall 10 delimiting laterally the bay 12.

The reference 30 identifies a clamp comprising a fixed support lug 32 and a movable clamping jaw 34. The fixed support lug 32 is fixed to the lintel 28. By clamping the clamp 30, the movable clamping jaw 34 presses the rib central 24 of the upper cross member 18, which performs the function of upper counter-support 33, against the fixed support lug 32.

A first embodiment of the clamp 30 is now described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3. This clamp essentially comprises two brackets 36, 38 assembled by means of a clamping bolt 40. The bracket 36, also called the clamping bracket 36, comprises a first branch 42 and a second branch 44, which is shorter than the first branch 42. The free end of the first branch 42 forms the movable clamping jaw 34 of the clamp 30. The free end of the second branch 44 forms a lever support on the support leg fixed 32. The first branch 42 comprises a through hole 46 for the rod 48 of the clamping bolt 36. This through hole 46 is an oblong hole oriented in the longitudinal direction of the first branch 42. head 50 of the clamping bolt 40 bears against the outer face of the first branch 42. The threaded end 52 of the clamping bolt 40 is screwed into a threaded hole 53 formed in the fixed support lug 32. By screwing the bolt 40 more deeply in the fixed support lug 32, the distance "d" between the fixed support lug 32 and the movable clamping jaw 34 of the clamp 30 is reduced so as to be able to clamp an inserted object between both. The bracket 38, also called the support bracket 38, also comprises a first branch 54 and a second branch 56, which is shorter than the first branch 54. In the embodiment shown, the first branch 54 forms the bracket 54. said fixed support 32 and the second branch 56 forms a bracket. This fixing lug 56 comprises two oblong holes 58 and 60 for fastening screws 62, 64, represented by their center line. Since the oblong holes 58 and 60 are oriented perpendicularly to the bearing surface of the fixed support lug 32, the latter can be easily moved forward or backward parallel to itself before tightening the fixing screws 62, 64. The width of the oblong holes 58 and 60 being furthermore slightly greater than the diameter of the fixing screws 62, 64, it is also possible to perform an angular adjustment of the fixed support lug 32 before tightening the fixing screws 62, 64 It will be noted that the first leg 54 also includes two elongate holes 58 'and 60', and the second leg 56 also includes a threaded hole 43 '. In this way, each of the two branches 54, 56 of the fixing bracket 38 can fulfill the function of fixing lug 34 and bearing lug 32. By fixing the clamping bracket 36 with the clamping bolt 40 in the threaded hole 53 of the branch 54, there is a long support lug 54 for a large height of the gap between the upper cross member 18 and the lintel 28. By fixing the clamping bracket 36 with the clamping bolt 40 in the threaded hole 53 'of the branch 56, there is a short support lug 56 in the case of a smaller height of the gap between the upper crossmember 18 and the lintel 28.

Pour des raisons de stabilité et pour faciliter l'ajustage du chambranle 14, on positionnera de préférence une pince 30 à proximité de chaque coin de raccord entre la traverse supérieure 18 et les montants 16, 16'.Depending on the width of the doorframe 14 and the forces to which it must withstand, several clamps 30 are fixed on the lintel 28. then to tighten the central rib 24 of the upper cross 18 at several spaced locations. For reasons of stability and to facilitate adjustment of the doorframe 14, a clamp 30 will preferably be positioned near each connecting corner between the upper rail 18 and the uprights 16, 16 '.

L'utilisation de la pince 130 est particulièrement intéressante en cas de faible hauteur du vide 26 entre la traverse supérieure 18 et le linteau 28.Fig. 4 has a clamp 130 which is intended to be fixed on one of the two side faces defining the bay 12, more precisely at a connecting corner between the upper rail 18 and an upright 16, 16 '. This clamp 130 comprises a lateral attachment plate 122 carrying the fixed support lug 132. In the embodiment shown, the fixed support lug 132 is formed by a branch of a bracket 136, the second branch of which is connected to fixing plate 122, so as to define a three-sided support wedge. The fixing plate 122 comprises two oblong holes 158 and 160 for fixing screws, represented by the center lines 162, 164. Since the oblong holes 158 and 160 are oriented perpendicular to the bearing surface of the bracket fixed support 132, it is easy to advance or retreat the fixed support lug 132 parallel to itself before tightening the fixing screws 162, 164. The width of the oblong holes 158 and 160 is also slightly larger than the diameter of the fixing screws 162, 164, it is also possible to perform an angular adjustment of the fixed support lug 132 before tightening the fixing screws 162, 164. The clamping bracket 36 and its connection to the support lug fixed 132 by means of the clamping bolt 40 are designed as described above. While being fixed on one of the two lateral faces delimiting the bay 12, the clamp 130 makes it possible to tighten the counter-support 33 of the upper cross member 18 from above. The use of the clamp 130 is particularly advantageous in the case of low vacuum height 26 between the top rail 18 and the lintel 28.

Fig. 5 shows a positioning plate 100 for the lower end of an upright 16, 16 '. Before fitting the doorframe 14 in the bay 12, two of these lower positioning plates 100 are fixed to the ground in the bay 12, so as to define the exact position of the lower ends of the two uprights 16, 16 '. As seen in FIG. 1, the positioning plate bottom 100 fixed to the ground 102 engages between the flange 20 and the central rib 24 of the upright 16, 16 '. When the floor must still receive a yoke, can be connected to the lower ends of the uprights 16, 16 'of the doorframe 14 by means of bars or spacers which will be embedded in the yoke.

To mount the metal frame 14 in the bay 12, it is advantageous to proceed as follows. Two lower positioning plates 100 are firstly screwed to the ground by arranging them in the bay to define a lower fixed support point for the lower end of each upright 16, 16 '. Then two support brackets 38 are screwed onto the lintel 28, respectively two bearing corners 138 on the lateral surfaces delimiting the bay 12, so as to define, close to each corner of connection between the upper rail 18 and the uprights 16, 16 ', an upper fixed support point for the counter-support 33 of the upper cross member 18. It is then possible to place the doorframe 14 in the bay 12 so that the lower end of each of the two uprights 16 , 16 'engages a lower positioning plate 100, and the counter-support 33 of the upper cross member 18 of the doorframe bears on said support lug 32. The movable clamping jaws 34 are then used to maintain the counter-support 33 of the upper cross member 18 of the doorframe 14 resting on the support tabs 32. It will be appreciated that the clamps 30, 130 allow a very fine adjustment of the final position of the doorframe 14 in the bay by lateral displacement e t / or vertical doorframe in the clamps 30, 130 slightly loosened and / or by inserting more or less thick calibration pieces 110 between the support lugs 32 and the central rib 24. In this way, it is known to ensure verticality perfect of the door block relative to the ground plane, its parallelism with respect to the plane of the wall and its arrangement left / right and front / rear in the bay of the wall.

When the final adjustment is completed, the clamps 30, 130 are firmly tightened and then constitute a solid anchoring of the doorframe 14 in the bay 12. The empty spaces between the doorframe and the surfaces of the wall 10 delimiting the bay 12 can now be filled. using a sealing compound, such as a concrete or a mounting foam, the casing serving as formwork and the clamps 30, 130 being permanently embedded in this mass.
