Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for scanning identifying badges. More specifically, the invention relates to a method for scanning identification badges for a motor vehicle of the type comprising an identification device suitable for the remote exchange of data with identifying badges, the scanning of badges comprising repeated transmission, by the identification system, identification requests to the attention of badges.
- a scanning process includes the periodic transmission, for example every second, of an identification request in a predetermined vicinity of the motor vehicle. This identification request is issued in the form of a low frequency radio wave.
- the invention aims to remedy the drawbacks of a conventional scanning method, by creating a method capable of transmitting identification requests in a secure manner and using less energy.
- the subject of the invention is therefore a method of scanning identification badges for a motor vehicle of the aforementioned type, as defined in claims 1 to 15.
- FIG. 1 schematically shows a motor vehicle equipped for the implementation of a method according to the invention, seen from above;
- FIG. 2 shows the steps of a scanning method according to the invention.
- FIG. 1 shows a time diagram detailing the operation of the scanning process of Figure 2 in a particular case.
- the motor vehicle 10 represented in FIG. 1 comprises a central control unit 12 disposed inside the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and connected to an identification device 14 suitable for the remote exchange of data with identifying badges 16 located in predefined scan areas.
- the identification device 14 comprises for example a badge reader identifying by transponder.
- a badge reader identifying by transponder.
- the latter locates it in a first scanning zone 18 located in a vicinity close to the identification device 14.
- the reader is associated with antennas located inside and outside of the motor vehicle 10, for the exchange of data by low frequency radio waves with the badges identifying 16, when these are located in larger scan areas than the first area 18.
- the identification device 14 can detect the presence of badges identifying 16 in a second zone 20 corresponding to the volume occupied by the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle 10, and in a third zone 22 covering a given vicinity of the motor vehicle 10.
- first zone 18 is included in the second zone 20, which is itself included in the third zone 22.
- the scanning process shown in FIG. 2 and implemented in the motor vehicle 10 comprises a first step 24 of detecting a triggering event from among a predetermined set of triggering events.
- the set of triggering events includes:
- This preliminary test includes:
- the conditions for performing the scan are:
- Steps 28 and 30 will be detailed later.
- step 28 of first scan if and only if the execution conditions are met, all the openings of the motor vehicle 10 are closed and at least one badge identifying 16 is detected in the third zone.
- step 36 we go to step 36 of stopping the process.
- step 30 of second scanning if and only if the execution conditions and the following conditions are met:
- At least one opening of the motor vehicle 10 is open and no badge identifying 16 is detected in the first zone.
- the central control unit 12 determines whether at least one identifying badge 16 has been detected in any of these three zones by the identification device 14, since the detection of the last triggering event. If this is the case, the central control unit 12 controls the automatic locking of the motor vehicle 10 and then proceeds to step 36 of stopping the process. Otherwise, we go directly to step 36 of stopping the process, without damaging the motor vehicle 10.
- the first scan, launched during step 28, includes the repeated transmission, by the identification device 14, of identification requests to the attention of identification badges 16 possibly located in the first zone or the third zone of scan.
- the second scan, launched during step 30, includes the repeated transmission, by the identification device 14, of identification requests to the attention of badges identifying 16 possibly located in the first zone.
- step 32 of detecting an event of temporary stopping of the scan launched previously causes the scanning in progress to be stopped, immediately followed by the execution of the preliminary test by passing again to step 26, with a view to the execution of a new scanning or monitoring of the resumption of the current scan without going through the execution of the preliminary test.
- All of the temporary shutdown events include: - the detection of an badge identifying 16 in the first zone 18, caused by the insertion of this badge identifying 16 in the reader of the identification device 14;
- the detection of a badge identifying 16 in the reader is a temporary shutdown event because the insertion of this badge 16 in the reader conventionally triggers an authentication process thereof.
- the scanning is temporarily stopped to allow the authentication of the badge identifying 16, then resumed without execution of the preliminary test of step 26.
- An authentication of a badge inserted in the reader 14 is not carried out during the execution of a scan only if no badge identifying 16 has been previously authenticated.
- step 32 we pass to a step 34 of detecting an event of definitive end of the scanning. If a final stop event is detected, we go to step 36 of stopping the scanning process, otherwise the scanning continues until a new temporary or final stop event is not detected.
- the set of final shutdown events includes:
- the first three final stop events are detected by the central control unit 12, while the last stop event, that is to say the disappearance of all the badges identifying 16, is detected by the device d identification 14.
- the time diagram shown in Figure 3 illustrates the operation of the previously described scanning process, in a particular case.
- This time diagram comprises a first axis 38 representing the detection of a triggering event 40, a second axis 42 representing the detection of a final stop event 44, a third axis 46 representing the state of the openings of the motor vehicle 10 and therefore representing the detection of temporary stopping events, such as the opening 48 of an opening leaf of the motor vehicle 10 or the closing 50 of an opening leaf of the motor vehicle 10. These temporary stopping events occur temporally between detection of the triggering event 40 and the detection of the final stop event 44.
- the diagram includes a fourth axis 52 representing the execution of polls.
- the identification device Upon detection of the triggering event 40, the identification device
- the central control unit 12 detects the opening 48 of a door of the motor vehicle 10. A preliminary test is therefore carried out again during which it is found that at least one opening of the motor vehicle 10 is open and no identifier badge 16 is inserted in the reader 14. The identification device 14 therefore launches a new scan in the first zone 18. During this scan, no identifier badge 16 is detected in reader 14.
- the central control unit 12 detects the closing 50 of the previously opened door. A preliminary test is therefore carried out again indicating the presence of an badge identifying 16 outside the motor vehicle 10, in the third zone 22. The doors of the motor vehicle 10 then being all closed, we go to step 28 , during which a scan in the first and third zones is carried out.
- an identifier badge 16 is detected in the third zone, that is to say outside the motor vehicle 10, until a moment of detection of a final stop event 44, during which the badge identifier 16 detected outside the motor vehicle 10 disappears. This disappearance is detected by the identification device 14 and causes the final cessation of any scrutiny.
- identification badge scanning process allows efficient scanning and low energy consumption. Indeed, any scan is triggered or stopped on the basis of the detection of triggering events, temporary stop events or permanent stop events.
