Abstract

The horizontal blind (10), for a window or door, has an upper (12) and a lower (13) rail, with a number of slats (11) between them. The upper and lower rails move vertically with a free adjustment through end units (21) on side cords, secured to the four corners of the window/door. At least one spring mechanism (24) is fitted to a rail, independently of their position. The side units for the blind rails allow the cords through and also apply a friction lock on them.

Description

The invention relates to a horizontal blind for window or door openings with a top rail and a bottom rail, between which a plurality of fins are arranged.

Such blinds are already known in various embodiments. The slats of the blinds are usually adjustable by means of a cord or a rod in the inclination. The curtain can also be partially or completely opened, including the lower rail is raised, for example by manual operation by means of a bead or the like. Also electrically driven horizontal blinds are known.

In addition, pleated blinds are known in which the curtain consists of an accordion-folded material or a film. Pleated blinds, in contrast to blinds in the closed state, do not permit direct passage of light. In order to have a direct light incidence not only in the lower window area, pleated blinds have already been developed in which not only the lower rail against the upper rail can be raised, but in which the upper rail in vertical direction downwards so that a direct light incidence can also be made in the upper area of the window or the door. Nevertheless, in the closed area of the pleated curtain, no regulation of the incidence of light and, in particular, no direct incidence of light is possible.

From the EP 1 022 428 A1 a pleated blind is known in which the upper and lower rails are displaceable along line guides. It is also disclosed that instead of a pleated blind, a blind can be used as a blind. Also, a clamping device is disclosed, which is to serve for tensioning the cords and should cooperate with the fastening devices for the cords.

From the US 4,733,711 is also a pleated curtain known. However, in this pleated curtain, the upper and lower rails are stationary. In between there is a split rail, which is movable. Devices with which the cords can be tensioned are arranged in the fixed upper and lower rails.

From the US 4,825,929 is also a pleated curtain known.

The present invention has for its object to provide a shading device for window or door openings, which combines the advantages of a freely movable pleated curtain with those of a classic horizontal blind.

The object is achieved with a horizontal blind for window or door openings with an upper rail and a lower rail with the features of claim 1.

A horizontal blind has a significantly higher weight than a pleated curtain. The slats of a horizontal blinds are usually made of metal or plastic and thus already heavier than a fabric curtain of a pleated curtain. In addition, the top and bottom rails of a horizontal blind are due to the necessary adjustment mechanism for the slat slope voluminous and heavier than the top and bottom rail of a pleated curtain. So far, it has therefore been considered impossible to realize a horizontal blind with freely movable top and bottom rails. But with the present invention, this is still successful. In order to avoid, that due to the high Behanggewichts the spring mechanism in the rail or the very strong and thus bulky must be interpreted, it is advantageous if the upper and lower rail laterally end pieces for carrying the tension cords are arranged, the end pieces are formed in that a high friction between the tensioning cords and the end pieces results when the tensioning cords are being carried out. The increased friction can be realized in various ways. Thus, the end pieces may have at least one bottleneck for the tension cords.

In an alternative embodiment, the end pieces may have at least one passage for the tension cords with a structured and / or rough surface. Advantageous, because less stressful for the tension cords, is the formation of a labyrinthine passage for the tension cords in the end pieces. Here, the higher friction is created simply by the more frequent deflection of the cords. This stresses the strings less than a narrowed section of a passage or passage with a roughened surface. Of course, the various measures to increase friction in the end pieces can also be combined.

The increase in friction not only allows the use of less strong springs but also less thick tension cords.

Further advantages arise when the friction between the clamping cords and the end pieces is adjustable. As a result, the line tension can be adjusted for installation tolerances.

Further advantages arise when guides are provided for the tension cords in the interior of the upper and lower rail. These guides also support a uniform state of tension of the tension cords.

To avoid unwanted tilting movements of the upper and lower rail about its longitudinal axis, the inlet openings of the tensioning cords can be arranged in each case in the upper region on the end sides of the end pieces.

In the blind according to the invention, the slats can be adjusted in any position of the upper and lower rail in that part of the curtain, which is closed, in their inclination to the horizontal. For this purpose, for example, a knob or a torsion bar can be used. The adjustment of the slats can be adjustable in its inclination in a conventional manner by means of conductor cords whose ends are connected to a slide arranged in the upper rail. The slide can be guided in bearing blocks, which also have guides for the tension cords.

Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of a horizontal blind according to the invention is described in detail with reference to the drawing.

The single FIGURE shows a perspective view of a horizontal blind according to the invention without tensioning cords and without the ladder cords for adjusting the slats 11 of the blind 10. The slats 11 are arranged between an upper rail 12 and a lower rail 13. The top and bottom rails 12, 13 may be made of aluminum, for example.

In the upper rail 12, which is shown with removed cover 12.1, a slider 14 for tilt adjustment of the fins 11 is arranged. The top ends of the ladder cords are attached to it. The slider 14 is provided on one side with a toothed portion 15, in the toothing of a pinion 16 engages. The pinion 16 is rotatable by means of a rotary knob 17 and thus the inclination of the slats 11 adjustable. Reference numeral 18 denotes a spiral bearing for the slide 14. The slider 14 rests in Lagerbökken 19, which also have guides for the tension cords, not shown here in the form of notches.

Next 12 terminals 20 are arranged for the here also not shown ladder cords for tilt adjustment of the slats 11 in the upper rail. Laterally, both the upper rail 12 and the lower rail 13 are closed by end pieces 21, which are designed such that they generate a high degree of friction with the tension cords passing through them. For example, they can be provided with a labyrinth-like guide for the tension cords. In addition, on the outside of the end pieces 21, a set screw 22 for tensioning the tension cords and to compensate for installation tolerances. To move the upper rail 12 to the clamping cords, a handle 23 is disposed on the upper rail 12. Such a handle 23 is also located on the lower rail 13. The lower rail 13 is also covered by a cover 13.1, which is shown here removed, covered. Inside the lower rail 13, a spring tensioning mechanism 24 is shown for the tensioning cords, not shown here.

To avoid a tilting movement of the rails 12, 13, the inlet openings 25 are arranged for the tension cords on the end pieces 21 in the upper region thereof.
