Description

The invention relates to a sealing tape for sealing joints in the construction industry with a core of soft foam having a first and a second outer surface, wherein on at least one of the outer surfaces as an overstretch protection a Zugverstärkungsschicht is applied.

Such sealing tapes are used for years in the construction industry for sealing joints. Especially in the production of sandwich elements, large-volume components with two metal skins, is injected between the polyurethane foam, which glued the two metal skins together, sealing strips are already used during foaming, as a lateral seal to prevent the foam leakage. The sealing strip normally remains permanently connected to the sandwich element after production and is compressed when two sandwich elements are joined, whereby the foam optimally adapts to the joint flank and the gap is filled in perfectly. Length changes of the expansion joint are absorbed by the sealing strip, so that no cracks or adhesive failure occur that would compromise a functionality of the joint. Such sealing tapes consist for example of polyurethane foam, which is impregnated by impregnation with an aqueous acrylate dispersion. A tensile reinforcement layer can additionally serve as an overstretch protection.

When attaching wound on large coils (rolls) sealing strips on joints with difficult geometries, it is often necessary to use in addition to the exact guidance and positioning of the sealing strip by means of the so-called block chain, adhesive tapes as a guide to a firm adhesion of the sealing strip to at least one the metal skins to produce before the foaming of the sandwich element takes place. This is to avoid that escapes due to insufficient sealing foam, which prevents proper joining of the elements on the site.

These adhesive tapes are so far in a separate device to the Zugverstärkungsschicht the sealing tape and glued to a metal skin of the sandwich element in the joint area. This creates additional expense that complicates the foaming process of the sandwich element and causes additional costs.

From EP-A-0 399 952 there is known a sealing tape having a soft foam core having first and second outer surfaces disposed opposite one another with a tensile reinforcing layer applied to the first outer surface, on which in turn a double-sided adhesive Adhesive tape is arranged. The tape is equally tacky on both sides.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a sealing strip, which ensures a secure seal during the foaming even with Sandwichelementfugen with complicated geometry without further processing, which is easy and inexpensive to produce and also easy to roll up and unwind.

This object is solved by the features of claim 1.

Characterized in that on the Zugverstärkungsschicht a double-sided adhesive tape is arranged, which is strongly adhesive on the side facing the first outer surface of the foam core side and weakly adhesive on the other side, wherein the weaker adhesive side of the adhesive tape is designed such that it on sheet metal adheres, but not on foam, the sealing tape can be attached directly to the metal skin of the sandwich panel without the use of another device, the tape adheres very firmly to the Zugverstärkungsschicht and the metal skin only relatively easily.

The foam core is preferably made of polyurethane, which ensures a particularly secure sealing of the joint due to the elastic properties of the flexible foam and the resulting resilience.

Preferably, the foam core is impregnated, the impregnate having a delayed recovery of the foam causing property, so that the sealing tape can be used even at high compression.

As an impregnate, an aqueous acrylate dispersion is preferably used, which increases the density of the sealing tape about three times and thus provides excellent sound absorption.

Preferably, the adhesive tape only partially covers the tensile reinforcement layer, thereby ensuring a flexible adaptation to the geometry of the sandwich element joint to be sealed.

Particularly suitable is an adhesive tape, which is inherently tacky by double-sided, differently designed acrylate dispersions, wherein the adhesive effect is increased when an acrylate dispersion has a suitable proportion of a Tackyfierharz.

Further details, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description with reference to the drawings. Hereby shows:
Fig. 1
a preferred embodiment of the sealing strip according to the invention;
Fig. 2
a plant for the production of sandwich panels; and
Fig. 3
a preferred embodiment of a sandwich element with a sealing strip according to the invention.

In Fig. 1, a preferred embodiment of the sealing strip 1 according to the invention is shown. The sealing tape 1 is an elongated body, which is produced in endless production and is usually wound on coils (rolls) in run lengths of 20 m to 1000 m. The sealing tape 1 has a foam core 3, which consists of a resilient foam with high resilience. Preferably, an elastic, open-cell flexible polyurethane foam is used for this purpose. The thickness of such a foam core 3 is between 3 mm and 15 mm, its width between 5 mm and 150 mm.

The foam core 3 is preferably impregnated with an impregnate having a delayed recovery of the foam causing property. Preferably, an impregnate based on an aqueous acrylate solution is used, through which the sealing strip 1 also receives an approximately three times higher density, so that the impregnated foam core 3 absorbs sound excellent and thus causes an effective sound insulation in later use.

The foam core 3 has a first outer surface 5, which is intended to face the sandwich element during installation, and a second outer surface 7, that of the first outer surface 5 opposite. At least on the first outer surface 5, a Zugverstärkungsschicht 4 is applied, which serves as overstretch protection. The Zugverstärkungsschicht 4 consists of a reinforcing layer of plastic material, such as an acrylate coating, or from a Gittergelege, which is preferably formed from glass fibers. It is also possible to combine both types.

The tensile reinforcement layer 4 must be designed so that it produces a sufficiently adhesive connection with the polyurethane foam contained in sandwich elements. In addition, it must be so tight that when foaming the sandwich element with polyurethane foam that does not penetrate into the foam core 3 or foamed. The cured foam would otherwise prevent an exact joining of two sandwich elements in later use. Temperature stability of up to 90 ° C for a short time is also required for production reasons. Overall, the sealing tape 1 should have a joint permeability coefficient of less than 0.1 m 3 / hm.

On the tensile reinforcing layer 4, a double-sided adhesive tape 9 is adhered, which firmly adheres to the tensile reinforcing layer 4. This adhesive tape 9 usually consists of a film carrier layer and has on both sides in each case a differently strong adhesive, wherein the more adhesive layer is arranged on the plane facing the Zugverstärkungsschicht 4 facing surface to ensure the secure connection. On the other hand, the adhesive tape 9 is formed less strongly adhesive, so that although a sufficient adhesion to metal takes place, but no liability to foams.

The adhesives used are preferably acrylate dispersions which are inherently tacky. Depending on the choice of dispersion, the strength of the adhesion can be varied; in particular, dispersions of n-butyl acrylate, t-butyl acrylate, ethylhexyl acrylate or cyclohexyl acrylate are suitable for different adhesive strengths. In addition, so-called Tackyfierharze may be included in the dispersions, which increase their adhesive strength. Rosin resins or hydrocarbon resins are suitable for this purpose, for example. A preferred mixing ratio for the strongly adhesive side is about 70% acrylate and 30% resin content. Depending on the desired adhesive strength, these percentages can be changed as desired.

The adhesive tape 9 usually covers only a part, as a rule not more than 75% (although this is also possible), preferably a third located at the edge region, the tensile reinforcement layer 4. A masking paper for the adhesive tape is not necessary, whereby unnecessary preparatory work in the production of sandwich panels can be avoided.

Fig. 2 shows a plant for the production of sandwich elements using a sealing strip according to the invention. First, the two wound on coils metal skins 11, 13 (made of steel or aluminum sheet) unwound, surface-treated 15 and provided with an edge profiling 17, in which the tongue and groove geometries of each model are formed. After a preheating 19 of the metal skins 11, 13, the foaming 21 is carried out with polyurethane foam, which is mixed in a metering system 23 and applied to the lower metal skin 11 via a rake, where it foams and hardens, whereby the two metal skins 11 and 13 are glued. To seal the longitudinal joints at least one inventive sealing tape 1 is used, which prevents the foam outlet. The sealing tape 1 is guided over each of the shape of the edge profiling of the metal skins 11, 13 and the joint geometry adapted blocks and positioned at the desired locations. The blocks are individual links of a chain, the so-called block chain 25. For better guidance in complicated joint geometries, the sealing strip 1 according to the invention, which is wound on a roll (not shown), is additionally attached to a metal skin 11, 13 by means of the adhesive tape 9 to ensure a secure adhesion. A device for applying the adhesive tape to the sealing strip is no longer necessary with the sealing strip 1 according to the invention. After leaving the foaming station, the sandwich element can be cooled and cut.

Längenänderungen der Dehnungsfuge werden ausgeglichen, so daß keine Risse oder eine mangelnde Haftung auftreten.FIG. 3 shows an example of a connection of two preferred sandwich elements 27 with a sealing strip 1 according to the invention. The sandwich elements 27 each show the two metal skins 11, 13, between which a foam layer 29 is introduced. The sealing tape 1 closes the joint 31 of the sandwich element 27, so that no foam could escape during the foaming of the sandwich element 27. Between the foam layer 29 of the sandwich element 27 and the Zugverstärkungsschicht 4 is an adhesive connection. In addition, an adhesive tape 9 is arranged in the upper region of the Zugverstärkungsschicht 4, which is firmly adhering to the upper metal skin 13 is connected. This adhesive tape 9 ensures the secure guidance of the sealing strip 1 during the foaming process of the sandwich element 27. The assembly of sandwich elements requires an exact joining and compression of the sealing strips. Often up to 4 m high sandwich elements are pressed together with equally long joint. The sandwich elements are finally connected together by means of conventional fastening means such as screws. The sealing tape provides the perfect soundproof, weatherproof seal of the joint. Length changes of the expansion joint are compensated, so that no cracks or a lack of adhesion occur.

The sealing tape according to the invention can also be configured in other variations, in particular, the adhesive tape can have any geometry, if it requires the shape of the joint.
