Durch gegenläufiges Drehen der Walzen 22, 23 wird der Verbindungsprozeß weitergeführt, indem sich das Segment 28 auf der Umfangsfläche 26 der Walze 22 abrollt. Dadurch, daß das Segment 28 und die Walze 22 mit einer Geschwindigkeit von vorzugsweise etwa v1, in jedem Fall aber mit einer Geschwindigkeit, die größer als die Geschwindigkeit v3 ist, angetrieben werden, die Materialbahn 14 jedoch durch den Antrieb 19 auf die Geschwindigkeit v3 abgebremst wurde, wird eine Geschwindigkeitsdifferenz erzeugt, die zur Erhöhung der Spannung der Materialbahn 14 bzw. des Materialstreifens 52 zwischen der Einrichtung 21 und der Bobine 12 führt. Wenn jetzt die Einrichtung 21 die Materialbahnen 14 und 18 verbindet, und zwar etwa mit der Geschwindigkeit v1 der abziehenden Maschine, die in Transportrichtung hinter der Wechselvorrichtung angeordnet ist, wird die durch die Saugleiste 60 auf die Materialbahn 14 zusätzlich aufgebrachte Zugkraft bzw. die dadurch erhöhte Bahnspannung zwischen der Einrichtung 21 und der Saugleiste 60 dazu führen, daß die Materialbahn 14 im Bereich der Einrichtung 21 reißt. Kurz bevor eine hintere Kante 50 des Segments 28 in Anlage mit der Walze 22 ist bzw. unmittelbar nach Beendigung des Verbindungsprozesses, wird die Spule 35 angetrieben, so daß die Materialbahn 14 bzw. der Materialstreifen 52 aufgewickelt wird. Die Spule 35 wird solange rotierend angetrieben, bis der Materialstreifen 52 vollständig von der Bobine 12 abgewickelt und auf der Spule 35 aufgewickelt ist. Dabei wirkt die Saugleiste 60 als eine Fangeinrichtung, die das abgetrennte Ende der Materialbahn 52 solange hält, bis das Schußmaterial vollständig aufgewickelt ist. Anschließend wird das Restmaterial automatisch entsorgt, und zwar in gleicher Weise wie der Vorspann. Nunmehr kann der wieder verwendbare Kern 13 der Bobine 12 entnommen werden. Auf die Aufnahme 11 wird dann eine neue, volle Bobine gesetzt, die wiederum mit der nunmehr ablaufenden Materialbahn 18 der Bobine 16 verbunden werden kann.The connection process is continued by rotating the rollers 22, 23 in the opposite direction, in that the segment 28 rolls on the peripheral surface 26 of the roller 22.
