Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical connector with a housing, the two flexible arms for attaching the housing to one Has holding device.
- Such connectors are generally known. They serve a so-called “floating" attachment of the housing to the holding device to create the plugging in of a connector counterpart should facilitate, even if this is not exactly in the direction of insertion of the connector housing in the rest position is aligned.
- the problem with known connectors, however, is that the flexible Arms just move the case in one or two Allow mutually perpendicular directions perpendicular to the direction of insertion.
- the invention has for its object a more flexible electrical To create connectors that are particularly suitable for a "blind" Connection of two electrical lines is suitable.
- the electrical connector according to the invention has a housing at least one socket section for receiving one plug contact each and with two flexible arms to attach the housing a holding device, wherein the flexible arms both tilt as well as a shift of the housing in all three spatial directions enable relative to the holding device.
- the possibility to move and tilt the housing in all three spatial directions increases the flexibility of the storage of the connector. This allows the plug contact of an electrical line despite a tilt and / or displacement relative to the direction of insertion the socket section of the housing in its rest position plug in.
- the plug contact of the electrical line does not have to be exactly in a precisely predetermined direction of insertion into the socket section of the housing.
- the connector is suitable is therefore particularly good for a so-called "blind assembly" in which a fitter's view of the connector is blocked.
- each arm has one from the housing pointing outer section, which is rotatable on the Holding device is attachable, so that the outer portion by one a direction of insertion parallel pivot axis with respect to the holding device is pivotable. Due to the rotatable mounting of the arms Flexibility of the arms increased further and thus the tiltability and the Movability of the housing further improved.
- Each arm can have a hole or a pin for mounting the Have housing on the holding device. Both the clip pin and the holes are also particularly suitable for rotatable mounting the poor.
- the diameter of each hole should be slightly larger be chosen as the outside diameter of a screw or a bearing pin, which is used to attach the arm to the holding device extends through the bore.
- the clip pins allow through Insert into the correspondingly provided receptacles of the holding device a particularly simple attachment of the housing to the holding device.
- the arms are strip-shaped formed and perpendicular to a mating level of the socket section oriented with the stripe width essentially the width of a Corresponds to the narrow side of the socket section.
- the stripe-shaped formation the arm leads to a certain stiffness or stability of the Arms in a direction that lies in the plane of the strip and transverse to the longitudinal extent of the strip is oriented. A bending of the arms in the Strip level is thus more difficult. At the same time, the arms point across Strip level some flexibility.
- Each arm can be angled several times and preferably at right angles his. By bending the arms several times, similar results like an accordion, a particularly high flexibility of the Poor.
- the connector there is a limiting device to limit displacement and / or tilting of the housing provided.
- the limiting device prevents that the connector and especially the arms due to excessive Tilting or displacement of the housing is damaged or become.
- a catch funnel can be located in the area of the insertion opening of the socket section be provided for a plug contact. Through the catch funnel will still insert the plug contacts into the socket sections further relieved.
- the housing has two socket sections that are oriented at right angles to each other. This allows a simple connection of two electrical lines, each are provided with a plug contact, and enables a space-saving Installation of the connector.
- the connector can be, for example attach to a door or body of a motor vehicle in this way, that the direction of insertion of a socket section parallel to Door or body panel runs and the direction of insertion of the other Socket section is oriented perpendicular to it.
- a first, parallel to Electrical wiring running in the door or body panel can be carried out in this Case easily plugged into one socket section while a second, mounted on a door module or an interior panel electrical line with one of the door module or of the inner lining protruding plug contact when installing the door module or the interior trim on the door or the body in the others Socket section can be inserted.
- metallic contacts in particular Contact spring arms can be arranged to make electrical contact to enable a plug contact inserted into the socket section.
- the metallic contacts thus make electrical contacting of the respective electrical lines.
- Each contact can have a main section to which an multiple bent contact section connects. This training the contacts allow contacting of electrical lines Plug contacts that have no contacts themselves, but one enable direct access to the conductor tracks of the line.
- the holding device has two parallel and spaced mounting bolts and optionally a protrusion extending transversely to the bolt, the limited displacement and / or tilting of the housing.
- the Holding device has a particularly simple structure. She leaves therefore manufacture and assemble with little economic effort.
- Another object of the invention is a method for electrical Connecting a first electrical line to a second electrical line Line in which an electrical connector, in particular an electrical Connector of the type mentioned above, with a first electrical line is connected, the connector by means of Holding device is attached to a support for a counter element Plug contact of the second electrical line on the counter element attached and the counter element is attached to the carrier, wherein the plug contact of the second electrical line simultaneously with the Alignment of the counter element with respect to the carrier relative to the connector is aligned and when attaching the counter element on the carrier in the second socket section of the connector is introduced.
- the method enables a particularly simple and space-saving Establishing an electrical connection between two electrical lines.
- the process can be carried out "blind”, i.e. with no direct view of the plug connector and the second plug contact mounted on the counter element, and is therefore particularly suitable for a concealed one Arrangement of the connector between the carrier and the counter element.
- the carrier can be a door or body panel of a motor vehicle and the counter element act as a door module or an interior panel.
- the connector 10 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 includes a housing 12 that is made up of two essentially cuboid and oriented perpendicular to each other Housing sections composed, each a socket section 14, 16 form for receiving a flat plug contact. Due to the right-angled arrangement of the bushing sections 14, 16 also the respective plug directions for the plug contacts to be inserted oriented perpendicular to each other.
- each socket section 14, 16 has a rectangular cross section seen in the respective insertion direction on and is by four side walls 20 - 26 of the housing 12 and limited a rear wall. On her opposite the back wall The recording rooms 18 are each open on the side. Form these openings Insertion openings for to be inserted into the socket sections 14, 16 Plug contacts.
- Each socket section 14, 16 of the housing 12 has an outer wall 20, an inner wall 22 and two narrow sides 24, 26.
- the socket sections 14, 16 are oriented towards one another such that the outer walls 20 and the inner walls 22 of the two bushing sections 14, 16, respectively adjoin each other at right angles, while the narrow sides 24, 26 each lie in one plane.
- a portion of the outer wall 20 of the one sleeve portion 14, 16 each form a rear wall to limit the Receiving space 18 of the respective other socket section 16, 14.
- each socket section 14, 16 is a coding or Index device 28 provided by an elongated recess is formed, which is in an edge region of the outer wall 20 in Extension direction extends.
- the index devices 28 provide a correct one Inserting plug contacts into the socket sections 14, 16 securely, by being appropriately trained on the plug contact Index or coding nose interact when inserting the plug contact into the socket sections 14, 16 into the indexing device 28 intervenes.
- the first socket section 14 has a locking device on its inner wall 22 for a plug contact.
- This locking device consists of a latching opening 30 into which a corresponding trained latch of a plug contact can snap.
- the second Socket section 16 has an outgoing on its inner wall 22 from the insertion opening of the socket section 16 in the direction of insertion extending elongated opening 32 into which a nose of a plug contact can intervene. Both the latch opening 30 and the opening 32 are arranged centrally in the inner walls 22.
- each socket section 14, 16 also a catch funnel 34 for the plug contact.
- the catch funnels 34 are by interconnected continuations of the side walls 20 - 26 of the housing 12 formed, which are each angled outwards. The catch funnels 34 facilitate the insertion of plug contacts into the Socket sections 14, 16.
- each socket section 14 16 arranged contact spring arms 36 through which two in the Socket sections 14, 16 inserted plug contacts electrically with each other are connectable.
- the contact spring arms 36 are made of a metal material manufactured.
- Each contact spring arm 36 has one extending in the plugging direction Main section 38. After arranging the contact spring arms 36 in the socket sections 14, 16 become the main sections 38 two contact spring arms 36 adjoining one another at right angles on their rear end electrically connected to each other, e.g. together soldered.
- each main section 38 facing the insertion opening is followed by a contact section 40.
- the contact sections 40 are bent back and form with the adjacent main sections 38 an angle in the range of about 30 to 60 °.
- the free The ends of the contact sections 40 are in turn in the direction of the respective adjacent main sections 38.
- the one in the area the free ends of the contact sections 40 located bend of the contact sections 40 forms a contact zone 42 in which the contact spring arms 36 with corresponding contact surfaces of a plug contact of an electrical Line or directly with the conductor tracks of the electrical line can get in touch.
- the practice Contact spring arms 36 Due to the bent shape of the contact sections 40, the practice Contact spring arms 36 have a certain spring force in the socket sections 14, 16 inserted plug contacts, which ensures reliable contacting each plug contact and thus a reliable electrical Connection between the electrical lines is guaranteed. Out Stability reasons and to improve the power line properties are the main sections 38 of the contact spring arms 36 in some areas increasingly trained.

- the contact spring arms 36 are embedded in the channels 46 such that the main sections 38 are not protrude beyond the outer wall 20 into the receiving space 18, but only the contact sections 40 and in particular the contact zones 42 protrude into the receiving space 18.
- first socket section 14 On the elevation 44 of the first socket section 14 is also a elongated projection formed which extends transversely to the direction of insertion of the extends first socket section 14.
- the projection 48 is part of a Limiting device, which a tilt and / or displacement of the housing 12 limited. The limiting device is shown below described in more detail.
- each arm 50 has one perpendicular to the housing 12 adjacent shorter inner section 52, one parallel to the housing 12 extending longer middle section 54 and one this adjoining, vertically facing away from the housing 12 outer portion 56 on.
- the flexible arms 50 are strip-shaped, the strip plane oriented perpendicular to the mating plane of the second socket section 16 is.
- the middle sections 54 of the arms 50 thus run parallel to the narrow sides 24, 26 of the second bushing section 16.
- the flexible arms 50 are formed in one piece with the housing 12. in the illustrated embodiment, the entire connector 10 is a one-piece injection molded part. The adjacent to the housing 12 Inner portions 52 of the flexible arms 50 are continuations of the Rear wall of the second socket section 16 and the outer wall 20 of the first socket section 14.

- the holding device comprises two parallel and mutually spaced bolts 60, which have one end on a support 62, for example on a door panel or a body panel, attached are.
- the bolts 60 are in each case provided with an axial threaded hole into which the Connector 10 on the holding device one each through the through hole 58 of the flexible arms 50, screw 64 can intervene.
- the screw 64 is used to fasten the connector 10 only so tight that the connector 10 indeed is secured to the holding device, the outer portions 56 of the flexible Arms 50 but can pivot freely with respect to the bolts 60.
- sleeves into the through holes 58 of the flexible Use arms 50 which surround and open the screws 64 which the flexible arms 50 are rotatably mounted.
- the housing 12 of the holding device attached connector 10 both in the direction of insertion of the second socket section 16 and transversely to it in the mating plane of the second socket section 16 move (indicated by arrow 68). additionally can the housing 12 because of the rotatable attachment of the flexible Arms 50 on the bolts 60 of the holding device also in the direction of insertion of the first bushing section 14 (indicated by the arrow 70). With such a displacement, the outer sections 56 both arms 50 pivoted in the same direction.
- the limiting device comprises also two elongated projections 72 arranged on the carrier 62 are.
- the projections 72 run parallel to the mating level of the second Socket section 16 and are spaced apart and in particular, as shown in FIG. 6, arranged above and below the bolts 60.
- the projections 72 form an upper and a lower stop for the arranged on the back of the first socket section 14 Projection 48 and thus limit tilting of the housing 12 by one to the plug directions of the socket sections 14, 16 vertical axis and / or a displacement of the housing 12 in the direction of insertion of the first socket section 14 (arrow 70).
- the multiple angled design and pivotable storage of the strip-shaped arms 50 provide a particularly movable holder of the housing 12. Together with the catch funnels 34, this has the Advantage that plug contacts from a variety of directions and positions can be inserted into the socket sections 12, 14. So it is suitable the connector is particularly good for a "blind" assembly of electrical cables that give a fitter a view of the connector is blocked and at least one plug contact blind in one Socket section must be inserted.

- a plug contact 74 of a first flat electrical line 76 in introduced the first socket section 14 of the connector 10. How 6, the plug contact 74 is parallel to the first electrical Line 76 oriented. Because the mating level of the first socket section 14 at least in the area of the connector 10 parallel to Surface of the carrier 62 runs, the plug contact 74 and thus the electrical line 76 is oriented parallel to the carrier surface 62. The electrical line 76 can therefore be easily carried on the carrier if necessary 62 fix.
- a plug contact 78 of a second flat electrical Line 80 on a counter element 82 for example a door module or an inner lining.
- Fig. 8 shows that the plug contact 78 perpendicular to the electrical line 80 is oriented, i.e. the line 80 is seen in a plug-in direction rear area of the plug contact 78 laterally out of this.
- Guide elements are on the rear end face of the plug contact 78 90 and a latching hook 92 are formed.
- the plug contact 78 is pushed onto the base plate 84, the guide elements of the plug contact 78 engage in the guides 86 of the base plate 84 and the latching hook 92 of the plug contact 78 in the latching opening 88 of the Base plate 84 snaps into place.
- the counter element 82 is now placed on the carrier 62 and on mounted this, there are the connector 10 and the electrical Lines 76, 80 between the carrier 62 and the counter element 82 and a fitter can no longer see whether the second plug contact 78 is correctly inserted into the second socket section 16.
- the connector 94 includes like the first Embodiment a housing 96. However, the housing 96 according to FIG the second embodiment, only a single socket section 98 on. This one socket section 98 corresponds in shape and Function essentially the second socket section 16 of the connector the first embodiment. To designate similar components become the same reference numerals in the second embodiment used as in the first embodiment. Unless expressly otherwise, the components of the second embodiment are correct in shape and function with the components of the first embodiment correspond, which are provided with the same reference numerals.
- the socket section 98 of the housing 96 has a cuboid shape Basic shape and serves to accommodate a flat plug contact.
- the Receiving space 18 for the plug contact is through an upper outer wall 20, a lower outer wall 22, two narrow sides 24, 26 and a rear wall 100 limited. Opposite the rear wall 100 is one Entry opening for the plug contact, in the area of which a funnel 34 is provided for the plug contact.
- a flexible arm 50 with a perpendicular to the housing 96 adjacent shorter inner section 52, one parallel to the housing 96 extending longer middle section 54 and one this adjoining outer section pointing perpendicularly away from the housing 96 56 provided.
- the flexible arms 50 are also strip-shaped in the second embodiment formed, the strip plane perpendicular to the mating plane of the Socket section 98 is oriented.
- the entire connector 94 is a one-piece injection molded part, so that the to the housing 12th adjacent inner portions 52 of the flexible arms 50 continuations the rear wall 100 of the socket section 98.
- each clip pin 102 is essentially by two semi-cylindrical pin half elements 104 formed by a axial gap are separated.
- the pin half elements 104 have a certain elasticity and can be used at their free ends Squeeze. At the free ends of the pin half elements 104 each formed a hook-like projection 106.
- the clip pins 102 compress the pin half elements 104 in correspondingly dimensioned receiving openings of the holding device plug in.
- the hook-like ones reach behind Projections 106 each have a wall delimiting the receiving opening and thus secure the connector 94 to the holding device.
- the pin half elements 104 together form a round cross section the clip pin 102, so that the clip pin 102 in the receiving openings can twist the holding device. That way, at In this embodiment, the pivotability of the flexible arms 50 reached relative to the holding device.
- the Connector 94 on the rear wall 100 of the Connector 94 according to the second embodiment is not elongated Projection 48 to limit the displacement or tilting of the Housing 96 arranged, but there are two spaced apart cube-shaped approaches 108 are provided. Just like the elongated projection 48 of the first embodiment, these approaches 108 act on one excessive tilting or displacement of the connector 94 with Projections 72 (Fig. 14) together a limiting device and in this way prevent damage to the connector 94.
- Fig. 11 shows contact spring arms 110, which are for an arrangement in the connector 94 are provided.
- the contact spring arms 110 each have one - extending in the assembled state in the direction of insertion - Main section 38 to which a multi-bent contact section 40 connects, which defines a contact zone 42, as already in 4 has been described.
- a crimp section 112 provided at the contact section 40 opposite end of each contact spring arm 110 . With the help of the crimp sections 112, the individual Contact spring arms 110 with respective electrical conductor tracks Connect line 76.
- each contact spring arm 110 On the side facing away from the contact zone 42 Main section 38, each contact spring arm 110 has an upturned Locking tab 114, which for locking the contact spring arm 110 in corresponding to the housing 96 in a in the elevation 44 of the housing 96 provided latching opening 116 engages.
- the contact spring arms 112 are connected to the conductor tracks first electrical wire 76 crimped and from the back in inserted the socket section 98 of the connector 94. Subsequently the connector 94 thus prepared by means of the clip pins 102 attached to a holding device, for example on a Door or body panel of a motor vehicle can be provided.
- the Electrical line 76 forms with the contact spring arms 112 in Substantially right angles so that they are at least in the area of the holding device parallel to the surface of the door or body panel runs and can be easily fixed to the surface if necessary.
- a plug contact 78 becomes a second electrical Line 80 pushed onto a base plate 84 (FIG. 12), such as has already been explained in connection with FIGS. 7 and 8.
- the Base plate 84 can, for example, on a door module or an interior paneling be glued to a motor vehicle.
- the base plate 84 is in this way on the door module or the inner lining positioned that when installing the door module on the door or the interior trim on the body panel along with the alignment of the door module or the interior trim with respect to the door or the Body at the same time an orientation of the plug contact 78 relative to Connector 94 takes place.
- Plug contact 78 even then “blindly" its way into the recording room 18 of the socket section 98 when the position of the plug contact 78 due to manufacturing tolerances and / or due to the assembly process deviates from an optimal orientation. For example then be the case if the door module with e.g. its upper side on the Door is hung in and by a pivoting movement into its end position is brought, with the plug contact at an oblique angle in the connector 94 is inserted.
- FIG. 13 shows a plug connector 94 with inserted plug contact 78 in a final assembly state in which the connector 94 and the Plug contact 78 hidden between a carrier 62, e.g. Door or body panel, and a counter element 82, e.g. Door module or interior paneling, are arranged.
- a carrier 62 e.g. Door or body panel
- a counter element 82 e.g. Door module or interior paneling
