Description

Such an apparatus is well known, as illustrated by patent FR-A-2,528,348, which describes an apparatus comprising at least one frame incorporating a cutting table delimiting a longitudinal slot traversed by a cutting blade, preferably circular, freely mounted to rotate on a carriage guided above the slot, the carriage being operated by a gripping handle, at least one component part of the frame having an anvil cutting edge.

The known devices of the state of the art are generally heavy and bulky. These devices are used on the ground. This results in the need for the operator, who works in elevation, in particular on a roof, to regularly go back and forth between his slate installation point and the location of the apparatus for slicing the slates. . This multiplication of trips and returns and in particular the steps of climbing the construction to reach the roof increases the risk of accidents. We are therefore looking for devices for slicing lightweight and space-saving sheet material to allow the slicing of plate materials, especially at the level of the frame or the roof of the building.

An object of the present invention is therefore to provide an apparatus for slicing plate materials whose design allows the carrying of said apparatus to a location corresponding to the location of laying slates or windows, particularly at the level of the roof or frame construction.

To this end, the invention relates to an apparatus for slicing plate materials, in particular slates or panes, according to claim 1.

In addition, at least one end-of-travel stop of the trolley is provided so that the trolley can be immobilized in the vicinity of an end of travel corresponding to a high point of the apparatus when the apparatus is inclined and thus release the trolley. space between the opposite low end of the apparatus and said carriage to allow freehand cutting of the plate materials.

Due to the fact that the natural gravity displacement of the carriage is prevented when the apparatus is in an inclined position, the operator can freely position his material in slicing plates on the cutting edge forming an anvil before slicing. The operator thus constantly has in his vicinity the apparatus for slicing and no longer needs to perform incessant back and forth between his workstation and the slicing station that can be arranged side by side . The apparatus is thus positioned on the roof in an inclined manner by following the natural slope of the roof, the fixing means to the frame or the roof can be any.

Thanks to the design of the machine, the roofer can perform slicing operations in series using the cutting blade or more precise slicing operations using the anvil and a hammer.

  • la figure 1 représente une vue d'ensemble en perspective d'un appareil pour le tranchage de matériaux en plaques conforme à l'invention ;

As mentioned above, the apparatus 1, object of the invention, for slicing plate materials, in particular slates or panes, is characterized by its design which allows a positioning of such a device directly on the roof of a building. Such an apparatus can thus allow an operator to have, at the same location corresponding to the installation location of the plate materials, a slicing station enabling him to perform any type of slicing whether it be a slicing of the type series by means of a cutting blade or a particular slicing by means of a hammer and an anvil.

In a manner known per se, this apparatus 1 comprises at least one frame 2 incorporating a cutting table 3. This cutting table 3 delimits a longitudinal slot 6 traversed by a cutting blade 4 mounted on a carriage 5. This carriage 5 is guided over the slot 6 and operated by a gripping handle 7.

Characteristically to the invention, at least one constituent part of the frame 2, or coupled thereto, has a cutting edge 9 forming an anvil. The presence of this cutting edge 9 thus enables the roofer to perform slicing operations of the plate materials by means of a hammer 14 by positioning the plate material to be cut on the cutting edge 9. This anvil cutting edge will be more particularly used for atypical cutting. When the slices are series type slices, the cutting blade 4 mounted on the carriage 5 will be used. The roofer thus has, at his workstation, all the slicing means generally made available to him to carry out the cutting operations. Previously, it had an anvil consisting of a cutting edge forming anvil and mounted on a foot to be fixed in the roof structure. To facilitate this slicing operation and as illustrated in particular in Figure 3, the cutting edge 9 extends outside the perimeter defined by the cutting table 3. Thus, the hammer 14 of the roofer, shown in the figures, can be freely actuated without coming to damage the rest of the device. It has enough space and travel to perform the cutting operation.

In the examples shown, the frame consists of spar (s) 2A interconnecting cross members 2B delimiting the stroke of the carriage 5. The cutting edge 9 forming an anvil then consists of the top of at least one spar 2A. This spar 2A of the frame, the top of which constitutes a cutting edge 9 forming an anvil, is disposed in a position in which it overcomes the cutting table 3 and is offset relative thereto. Again, this offset is more particularly visible in FIG. 3, where it can be seen that, with respect to the size of the table 3, the cutting edge 9 extends outside the perimeter delimited by said table 3. cutting. This offset allows the roofer, acting by means of its hammer 14, not to hit, during the cutting operation, the cutting table 3.

Ainsi, l'arrêt 8 de fin de course pourrait, de manière équivalente, être positionné directement sur le chariot 5.To allow such a slicing operation, it is preferable to immobilize the carriage 5 in a position in which the roofer can freely position his slate on the cutting edge 9 and actuate, with his other hand, the hammer 14. Indeed, the carriage 5 cooperates with at least one limit stop 8, which will be described in more detail below, so that it can be immobilized in the vicinity of an end of travel when the apparatus 1 is inclined and prevent the natural displacement of the truck by gravity. Thus, the device can to be positioned on a roof and the carriage 5 immobilized in a limit position to allow the operator to freely place his slate on the cutting edge 9 or on the cutting table 3 despite the general inclination of the blade. 'apparatus. The carriage 5 can then be maneuvered by the operator to perform the slicing operation. During this slicing operation, the operator holds the slate with one hand while using the other hand with the trolley. For this purpose, it is positioned at the end of the cutting table and moves the carriage closer to him. After each slicing operation, the carriage 5 is returned to a final position for the preparation of a new slicing operation. The immobilization of the carriage 5, in the vicinity of an end of stroke, can be carried out according to a large number of embodiments. In the examples shown, the end-of-travel stop 8 is coupled to the frame 2 of the apparatus 1 and is positioned on the path followed by a complementary member, mounted on the carriage 5. This complementary member 9, such as a stop, and / or the end stop 8 are loaded by spring so as to retract or retract during mutual contact obtained by manual movement of the carriage 5. Thus, in the example shown in FIG. 1, the stop 8 end of the race is constituted by a single pin secured to a spar 2A of the frame. The complementary member, positioned on the carriage 5, is constituted of a ball loaded by spring and projecting at least partially from a housing which affects the shape of a finger extending perpendicularly to the vertical plane passing through the cutting blade. When moving the carriage in the vicinity of the stop 8 end of stroke and a mutual contact between the stop 8 end of stroke and the body, the ball retracts inside its housing to allow the passing through the body of the stop 8 end of the race. The stop 8 past end of the race, the ball is again protruding from its housing and constitutes a stop preventing the movement of the carriage in the absence of the provision of a muscular effort corresponding to the operation of the carriage. As a result, the carriage which, under the effect of its own weight, tends to move along the inclination of the slope of the roof on which it is positioned, does not succeed in overcoming the resistance offered by the cooperation of the stop 8 end of the race and the organ. Of course, each time, the stop 8 end of the race is positioned at or near the end of the table of cut corresponding to the high point of the device when it is positioned inclined on the roof of a frame. Similarly, this end-of-travel stop 8 could consist of a pivoting hook whose pivoting axis is loaded by a spring, an abutment mounted on the carriage causing the hook to retract upon mutual contact between said elements. then a return of the hook in a position corresponding to a retaining position of the stop and therefore the carriage whose stop is secured. Other embodiments can still be designed in an equivalent manner. Thus, the stop 8 end of stroke could, in an equivalent way, be positioned directly on the carriage 5.

In the examples shown, the limit stop 8 is positioned at one or other of the ends of the cutting table according to the direction of use of the cutting table as will be described below. .

To allow the positioning of such a device 1 on a roof, it is necessary to have a frame 2 of low weight and small footprint. For this purpose, the frame 2 consists of longitudinal members 2A assembled by cross members 2B delimiting the stroke of the carriage 5. Note that the sleepers 2B comprise, in the vicinity of their feet, a plurality of notches 16 for holding and fixing the apparatus 1, in particular on the battens of a frame. These sleepers 2B can also be equipped, in the vicinity of their base, a pivoting part 15 provided with teeth or points intended (s) to come in the fences of a frame in a specific angular position of the workpiece 15 so as to immobilize the apparatus. The frame 2 consists of two series of longitudinal members. A first series of spars overcomes the cutting table 3. The top of at least one of these longitudinal members 2A surmounting the cutting table 3 constitutes a cutting edge 9 forming an anvil as mentioned above. Thus, the operator can use the top of these side members in the manner of an anvil. For this purpose, it is sufficient for him to position the slate on said edge then, by means of a hammer 14, to cut the slate along said edge. Because the cutting table 3 has no projecting elements with respect to the cutting edge 9, which is arranged offset, nothing harms such a cutting operation. This cutting edge 9 may also have a bevelled profile. The second series of side members 2A is intended to allow the realization of the cutting table. This results in an extremely easy manufacture and assembly of the apparatus consisting simply of four longitudinal members and two sleepers. The first and second series of longitudinal members are each in the form of an angle. In the case of the second series of longitudinal members used for producing the cutting table 3, these angles are assembled in such a way that their horizontal branches, extending substantially perpendicular to the cutting blade, are spaced apart from one another. other so as to form, by means of their edges, the longitudinal slot 6 of the cutting table traversed by the cutting blade 4. The longitudinal members 2A overlying the cutting table 3 are also in the form of angles. The so-called horizontal branch of the angle extending substantially perpendicular to the plane of the cutting blade 4 is clamped between means 10A, such as rollers, for guiding the carriage 5. Additional means 10B for guiding the carriage 5 take support on the face delimiting the edge of said branch. These guide means, constituted here in the form of rollers, are more particularly shown in Figure 2. This results in perfect guidance of the carriage 5 during its movement.

To facilitate the operation of such a carriage 5, the latter comprises two gripping handles shown at 7A and 7B. These two handles can be used alternately by a left-handed or a right-handed person. Thus, the handle 7A, as shown, is intended for a right-handed and cooperates with the stop 8 positioned at P2 while the handle 7B is intended for a left-hander and cooperates with the stop (not shown) positioned at P1. The carriage 5 further comprises two positions P1, P2 of the end-of-travel stops 8, each position P1, P2 located at or near an end of the cutting table 3 corresponding to the use of a handle 7A, 7B . The operator, depending on its laterality, will be positioned at one or both ends of the cutting apparatus to manipulate the cutting blade.

These handles 7A, 7B maneuvering have gripping portions 11A, 11B which fit into a V and intersect the plane passing through the cutting blade 4 and the slot 6 for circulation of the cutting blade 4. This results in less fatigue of the operator whose gesture is perfectly natural during the slicing operation. The center of gravity of the gripping portion of each handle 7A, 7B extends substantially in line with the longitudinal slot 6 for circulation of the cutting blade. Finally, in the examples shown, the handles 7A, 7B form a one-piece assembly affecting the shape of a central pillar bridge 12.

Due to the possibility of maneuvering such a carriage from one or the other end of the cutting table, the stop 8 of the end of travel of the carriage is positionable at one or the other end of the frame . It can also be provided an apparatus comprising two end-of-travel stops 8 disposed at or near each of the ends of the cutting table.

To increase the precision of the cut, it is provided, positioned at one end of the cutting table 3, a cutting guide 13 affecting the general shape of a protractor. This cutting guide 13 has a curved slot 14 inside which is positioned a member 15 for immobilizing the guide inserted in the longitudinal slot 6 for circulation of the cutting blade 4. In the examples shown, this member 15 is constituted by a screw immobilized by means of a nut. The cutting guide 13 is further equipped with a pivot pin 16 to select the desired cutting angle before immobilization of the guide. The presence of such a pivot pin 16 improves the immobilization of the cutting guide 13.

Finally, the guide 13 comprises, at the ends of the protractor, reference surfaces 17 constituting each time supports for the material to be cut. These reference surfaces 17 extend on either side of a passage 18 of the cutting blade 4 inside the protractor.

Of course, such a cutting guide 13 is positionable to one or the other ends of the cutting table according to the operating handle used according to whether the operator is right-handed or left-handed. In other words, when the end stop 8 will be positioned at one end of the table, the cutting guide 13 will generally be positioned at the opposite end of the cutting table.

As mentioned above, the operation of such a cutting apparatus is identical as regards the cutting blade to that of a cutting apparatus used hitherto. The difference with a traditional device results in the incorporation of the anvil to the device, which allows a roofer to overcome an independent anvil. The roofer can thus, by means of the same apparatus, perform any type of slicing operation. Moreover, it is possible to immobilize the carriage at a high point of the device when the latter is in an inclined position. This results in the possibility for the operator to freely position his slate on the cutting table or on the cutting edge forming an anvil before cutting or by the operation of the carriage driving the cutting blade in displacement along the longitudinal slot 6 of the cutting table, either by the operation of a hammer 14. The operator therefore tends, during this slicing operation, to drive the carriage towards him, the operator being positioned at a end of the cutting table. Once the slicing operation is completed, the operator tends to move the carriage from the end of the cutting table to which it is positioned to bring it back to the end position and immobilize it by means of the stop 8 end of stroke at a high point of the device. In the case where the slicing operation is performed by means of the anvil and the hammer 14, the carriage remains immobilized at a high point thus freeing enough space to perform the cutting operation.
