Definitions

  • Figure 1 shows a first type of sectored crucible, used for these same purposes. It mainly consists of sectors 1, a bottom 2, an inductor 3 with several turns and a cooling circuit 4. Sectors 1 are placed vertically, one against the other, to constitute the enclosure of the crucible. The bottom 2 completes this enclosure. It is specified that this bottom 2 can be retractable or include one or more orifices for the evacuation of the materials poured into the crucible. The sectors 1 are held against each other, thanks to a fixing by means of a wrapping 5.
