  1. Bread-slicing machine comprising a slicing device and a bread-pusher device (G) both mounted on a frame, the said bread-pusher device being arranged so as to be able to be moved between a retracted position in which the bread can be disposed between the bread-pusher device and the slicing device and an advanced position in which the bread-pusher device is adjacent to the slicing device, the said machine also comprising a cover (1) able to move between a closed position in which it makes the slicing device inaccessible to a user of the machine and an open position in which it makes the bread-pusher device accessible to the said user, the bread-pusher device being provided with a first means (6) and the cover with a second means (4) arranged so as to cooperate during the movement of the bread-pusher device towards its retracted position so as to move the cover towards its open position
    characterised in that
    the first means can exert an elastic force on the second means so as to ensure the stability of the open position of the cover.
  2. Machine according to claim 1, characterised in that the second means comprising a cam provided with a groove (7) in which the first means engages when the cover reaches its open position.
  3. Machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the first means comprises a spring.
  4. Machine according to one of claims 1-2, characterised in that the first means comprises an elastic metallic blade.
  5. Machine according to claim 3, characterised in that the spring comprises a member, one end of which is provided with a roller (11) arranged so as to be able to provide contact between the said first and second means.
  6. Machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the cover is arranged so as to move between its open position and its closed position about a pivot (5) mounted on the frame.
  7. Machine according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises means for triggering the movement of the bread-pusher device towards its advanced position when the cover is brought into its closed position.
