Definitions

  • the invention relates to a roll for a paper machine, which is provided on the surface with a pattern of drainage holes, and a method for their preparation.
  • so-called "open" rolls such as e.g. Forming rolls and wire suction rolls are used to dewater a paper web which, together with a sieve, e.g. a Formiersieb, is guided along the roller or deflected by the roller.
  • a sieve e.g. a Formiersieb
  • the surface of the roll is provided with drainage openings, which usually extend in the radial direction with respect to the roll axis and in which liquid can be taken up from the paper web.
  • the drainage openings can be formed as through openings, so that the liquid can be sucked into the interior of the roll.
  • the drainage holes can also be blind holes in which the liquid is temporarily taken up to be released later, for example, to be thrown off.
  • US-B-6402896 discloses a roll for a paper machine having a pattern of drainage openings on the roll surface.
  • An object of the invention is therefore to achieve the greatest possible reduction in the formation of hole shadow marks with good drainage properties when using a roller, without the roller must be equipped for this purpose with a Schrumpfsiebbezug.
  • the drainage openings are thus subdivided into at least two groups, the drainage openings of the first group being surrounded circumferentially by circular grooves, that is to say by circular, groove-like depressions around the relevant drainage opening.
  • These circular grooves contribute to a reduction of land areas between the Drainage holes and allow a temporary absorption of water from the treated paper web.
  • by such circular grooves along the roll surface of a connection between the drainage openings of the second group can be prepared by being cut or cut by such a circular groove.
  • the roller according to the invention is thus distinguished by the fact that the land areas between the drainage openings are clearly cut and thus reduced. As a result, an enlargement of the open roll surface and thus a homogenization of the water outflow from the paper web is achieved. This causes a significant reduction in the formation of unwanted hole shadow marks. A Schrumpfsiebbezug is not required for this purpose.
  • the circular grooves can be produced in a particularly simple and cost-effective manner on the roll surface.
  • the circular grooves for example by means of drill bits, are manufactured in a clamping with the drainage openings in the roller.
  • the circular grooves are arranged concentrically to the respective, surrounded by the circular groove drainage opening. As a result, a particularly effective homogenization of the water outflow along the roll surface can be achieved.
  • the arrangement and the respective inner radius of the circular grooves are selected such that the circular grooves and the drainage openings respectively circumferentially surrounded by the circular grooves are not connected to one another along the roll surface. It has been shown that between a drainage opening of the first group and the circular groove surrounding this drainage hole a continuous web or a continuous land surface can remain without this arrangement leads to an undesirable marking on the treated paper web, so that in the region of this drainage opening the first group can be provided with a sufficient land area for supporting the paper web or the screen.
  • the inner radius and the outer radius of the circular groove are selected such that the circular groove intersects an adjacent drainage opening of the second or a further group only in its edge region, and not along a central region.
  • cutting or cutting through the drainage opening of the second group may be provided in the outermost third of the radius of this drainage opening.
  • the connection channels thus created between the adjacent drainage openings thereby extend in the immediate vicinity of the drainage opening of the first group surrounded by the circular groove, which likewise leads to a contributes particularly even water outflow along the roll surface.
  • the width of the circular grooves is small with respect to the radius of the drainage opening surrounded by the respective circular groove and, for example, is only one third or one quarter of this radius or less.
  • a particularly good equalization of the water outflow in the region of the drainage openings of the first group is ensured if the inner radius of the circular grooves is approximately greater by the width of the circular grooves than the radius of the respective, surrounded by the circular groove drainage opening.
  • the radial distance of a circular groove to the edge of the surrounding drainage opening should be approximately equal to the width of the circular groove or geri n-ger.
  • An advantageously uniform water outflow is also achieved when the drainage openings with surrounding circular groove, ie when the drainage openings of the first group, in the immediate vicinity of only drainage holes without surrounding circular grooves, ie only by drainage openings of the second group, are surrounded in a regular arrangement.
  • the drainage openings of the first group may be surrounded in a uniform division of six drainage openings of the second group.
  • the drainage openings of the first group are formed on the roll surface larger than the drainage openings of the second group. If the drainage openings of the first group are not connected by any connection channels with other drainage openings or with a surrounding circular groove, this enlarged version results in that the land area in the region of such a drainage opening of the first group and the respective surrounding circular groove only a comparatively small proportion of the total area accounts.
  • the drainage openings of the first group are not necessarily surrounded by only a single circular groove. Instead, it is also possible that these drainage openings are surrounded by two or more circular grooves, which are arranged in particular concentrically to one another and to the drainage opening.
  • the roller is preferably aftertreated, in particular by breaking sharp edges, deburring and sandblasting and coating with wear-resistant material.
  • Fig. 3 shows a known pattern of drainage openings 11 on the surface 13 of a forming roller 15, wherein the curved itself roll surface for the purpose of better recognizability is shown as a plane.
  • the space between the drainage holes 11 appears on the surface 13 of the roller 15 as a land surface 17 (shown hatched in FIG. 3).
  • the illustrated pattern of drainage apertures 11 and land portions 17 extending therebetween may in some applications result in the formation of undesired hole shadow marks on the treated paper web, as this pattern causes uneven water leakage from the treated paper web.
  • Fig. 1 shows a part of a forming roller 11 according to the invention in the radial cross section along the axis of rotation of this roller (not shown in Fig. 1).
  • a drainage opening 11 in the form of a bore extending from the roll surface 13 continuously in the direction of the axis of rotation in the center of the roller 15. In the area of the roll surface 13, the bore 11 is extended to a countersink 19.
  • the drainage opening 11 is surrounded by a Ausne h-mung in the form of a circular groove 21 which surrounds the drainage opening 11 in a concentric arrangement.
  • the circular groove 21 causes an enlargement of the open roll surface 13 and thus a homogenization of the water absorption from the treated paper web. The risk of formation of hole shadow marks on the treated paper web is thereby considerably reduced.
  • FIG. 2 shows, in a view corresponding to the representation according to FIG. 3, an exemplary embodiment of a pattern of drainage openings with such circular grooves 21.
  • the drainage openings are each assigned to one of two groups.
  • the drainage openings 11 of a first group are, as already explained in connection with FIG. 1, surrounded by a concentric circular groove 21.
  • drainage openings 11 'are provided which are assigned to a second group, wherein in each case six drainage openings 11' of this second group surround a drainage opening 11 of the first group in a uniform division.
  • the dewatering openings 11, 11 'thus form a periodically repeating pattern, wherein within a rectilinear series of dewatering openings 11, 11' along the roll surface 13 every third dewatering opening 11 is assigned to the first group and the two intermediate dewatering openings 11 'are assigned to the second group ,
  • This regular arrangement of drainage openings 11, 11 'and circular grooves 21 causes the drainage openings 11' of the second group are each cut at three edge regions in a uniform pitch of a circular groove 21, so that between two adjacent drainage openings 11 'of the second group in each case two connecting channels 23 are formed.
  • the land area 17 between these two drainage openings 11 ' is cut and reduced to a segment web 25. This reduction of the land area 17 leads in the vicinity of the respective drainage opening 11 'to a homogenization of the water outflow from the treated paper web into the drainage opening 11'.
  • the arrangement of the drainage openings 11 of the first group and the circular grooves 21 relative to one another is selected such that a drainage opening 11 of the first group does not interfere with the surrounding circular groove 21 and thus also with an adjacent drainage opening 11 of the first group or an adjacent drainage opening 11 'of the second Group is connected. Instead, the drainage openings 11 of the first group are surrounded by closed ring lands 27.
  • the circular groove 21, which surrounds this drainage opening 11 circumferentially ensures sufficient enlargement of the open roll surface 13, so that hole shadow markings are avoided.
  • the width of the respective circular groove 21 is relatively small relative to the radius of the relevant drainage opening 11, as shown in particular in FIG.
  • the depth of the circular grooves 21 may be comparatively small relative to the depth of the drainage opening 11 or its depression 19.
  • a uniform reduction of the open roll surface 13 in the respective vicinity of the first group of drainage openings 11 also contributes to the fact that the drainage openings 11 of the first group on the roll surface 13 have a larger radius than the drainage openings 11 'of the second group, and that the inner radius the surrounding circular groove 21 is only slightly larger than the radius of the respective drainage opening 11th
