Abstract

Bed, especially a hospital or care bed, comprises at least one safety side part (34) which is mounted so that it moves on the side surfaces (48) of the transverse bars (42) of a bearing part (32) of the mattress supporting device (30). Description

The invention relates to a bed, which is in particular a hospital or nursing bed and which is provided with safety side parts to the lateral boundary of the bed.

A bed of the type mentioned above is out GB-A-1 279 081 and from DE-A-44 00 802 known. This known bed is equipped with a movable base, on which an upper frame is arranged. The upper frame comprises a bed frame, which consists of a headboard, a footboard and two side panels. Within the frame, a preferably adjustable mattress support device is arranged, on which a mattress which defines the lying surface rests. On the two side parts of the bed frame lattice-like safety side elements are attached. Each safety side part has a parallel to the respective side part and above this side part extending longitudinal spar, which is connected via a plurality of mutually parallel connecting spars with the bed frame side part. All connections between the connecting spars on the one hand and the bed frame side part and the longitudinal spar on the other hand are articulated and have transverse to the longitudinal extent of the bed extending steering axles. This makes it possible to pivot the safety side part by lifting in an erecting position in which it projects over the lying surface upwards, and in a lowered position, in which the longitudinal spar rests on the bed frame side part and is thus arranged below the lying surface, so that the patient can comfortably get out of bed.

The known safety side sub-construction has proven itself in principle. However, it is relatively expensive in terms of their construction.

Furthermore, in the prior art hospital beds are known in which the safety side parts are mounted according to the construction described above outside of the bed frame or on the lying surface, wherein the bed frame side parts or the lying surface and the longitudinal spar are arranged on opposite sides of the connecting spars. This makes it possible to pivot the safety side part also below the lying surface and possibly even below the bed frame down.

Out DE-U-17 18 671 For example, a bed is known which is provided with side panels which are pivotally arranged below the bed surface and can be folded up for purposes of shielding the privacy screen. Unless these shielding or shielding plates are needed, they are pushed from both sides under the bed and stowed there. The position of the plates of the known bed is more or less stable only in the inserted and folded up state. Therefore, the area of use of the plates is limited to that of the shield and the screen.

Out DE-U-73 24 686 is a cot is known in which the side panels are arranged height adjustable on the bed frame. The pivoting of the safety side parts then, when they are not needed, in a position below the lying surface and, as out EP-B-0 991 344 . DE-U-298 24 011 and EP-A-1 174 106 known below the mattress support device supporting the mattress with the bed has the advantage that the safety side parts in their non-use position does not limit the accessibility of the bed for the patient and the hospital or nursing staff.

To increase the comfort is more and more demanded in hospital or care beds that the minimum height to which the bed can be lowered, is further reduced.

An object of the invention is therefore to provide a bed, in particular a hospital or nursing bed, in which the safety side parts can be accommodated to save space below the bed.

To solve this problem, a bed, in particular hospital or nursing bed is proposed with the invention, which is provided with the features of claim 1.

According to the invention, it is therefore provided to store the at least one safety side part in the plane defined by the at least one support part of the mattress support device when it is in the non-use position (referred to above as rest position). In this position, the safety side part passes from its erect position either exclusively by pivoting or by a combination of a pivoting and a sliding movement. In this respect, the invention thus provides that the at least one safety side part is movably mounted on the side surfaces of the transverse bars of the at least one support part of the mattress support device. This storage therefore consists either of a rotary bearing or of a linear guide with combined pivot bearing. The tops of the crossbars between their side surfaces form part of the mattress support surface of the mattress support device.

According to the construction according to the invention, the safety side part does not protrude in its rest position or only slightly over the underside of the support part of the mattress support device. This is an extremely space-saving design given, which now makes it possible to lower in the case of height-adjustable bed frame this bed frame to a minimum minimum height, as it is more and more demanded for reasons of comfort.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the at least one support part of the mattress support device has the longitudinal beams connecting the two transverse struts to form a peripheral frame, wherein the two longitudinal beams extend parallel to at least one connecting part of the bed frame. Accessories such as, for example, a urine bottle or a urine bag or a body fluid container, for example wound exudate, can now be attached to these (outer) longitudinal bars, which extend essentially at the level of the longitudinal edges of the lying surface. This accessory is thus located in the lateral outer area of the bed and is thus easily accessible, which is advantageous in this regard. In addition, the longitudinal beams can take over the function of stops which limit the movement of the at least one safety side part in its rest position. This is particularly useful when the at least one side of the safety side is then moved by a linear displacement to its rest position after pivoting from its erect position. In a pure pivoting movement of the at least one safety side part between the rest position and the righting position, the longitudinal members of the support member do not primarily have the function of a stopper.

As already mentioned above, according to the invention, the at least one safety side part is mounted on the side surfaces of the transverse struts of the at least one support part of the mattress support device, namely to be supported on the outer side surfaces of the transverse struts facing away from one another. The latter is advantageous insofar as a head or Fußteilseitige strut of the safety side part can now be arranged in the immediate vicinity of the head or foot. Because of the storage of the safety side part outside of the side surfaces of the cross beams thus this safety side part can reach up to close to the headboard or footboard of the bed frame when arranged on the head or Fußteilseitigen pad part of the mattress support device. This creates between the head or foot on the one hand and the respective adjacent side security part only a small-sized gap or small distance, which also remains relatively small in size, when the support member is pivoted. The patient or body parts of the patient can not do so anymore so easily get between the safety side part and head or foot.

Expediently, the at least one safety side part, starting from its rest position, can be displaced linearly over the longitudinal edges of the lying surface of the mattress into a maximum extension position in order to be able to be transferred to the erecting position upon reaching this position by a pivoting movement. Thus, the at least one safety side part is displaceably guided on the side surfaces of the transverse spars of the at least one support part of the mattress support device. This is expediently carried out by means of a (sliding) bearing block, which is guided along a guide rail or a guide groove on the cross member. The actual safety side part is then articulated on the bearing block, namely about an axis running parallel to the longitudinal edges of the lying surface. In the case of a guide rail on the cross member, the bearing block has a recess into which the guide rail is immersed. Conversely, when the cross member is provided with a guide groove, the bearing block has a projection which dips into the guide groove.

As an alternative to the above-described storage options of the safety side part of the cross beams, it is also conceivable to provide rolling bearings, along which the at least one safety side part or its struts on the support part of the mattress support device or its transverse spars is performed. The construction in this case is similar to that of pull-out rails for example drawers, as they are basically known in furniture.

For safety reasons, it is useful if the safety side part can be locked in its erect position, in particular automatically against unintentional movements from the erect position out. The locking device required for this purpose should preferably be manually deactivated. The required actuating element is expediently in the case of Forming the at least one support member of the mattress support device with a peripheral frame attached to the longitudinal beams of this frame or arranged so that the locking of the safety side part can be lifted in its erect position by a one-handed operation.

In Fig. 1 is a perspective nursing bed 10 shown with a height-adjustable bed frame 12. The bed frame 12 has support elements 14 in the form of variable-length legs, which are interconnected by transverse and longitudinal struts 16,18, which together with the support elements form a base 20. On the undercarriage 20 is a top frame 22, which includes a head and a foot part 24,26 and two connecting these longitudinal struts 28. On the upper frame 22 is further a mattress support device 30 with a plurality of adjustable support members 32, one of which faces the head part 24 and one of the foot part 26. Two safety side parts 34 are each mounted on these two support parts 32. Finally, on the mattress support device 30, a mattress 36 which defines a limited by longitudinal edges 37 lying surface 38.

The attachment and slidable guidance of the safety side members 34 to the respective support members 32 of the mattress support device 30 is good in the FIGS. 2 to 5 to recognize. Accordingly, a support member 32 has a peripheral frame 40, composed of two transverse bars 42 and two longitudinal bars 44 and the like with slatted struts 46. is provided. Each slide bearing block 50 is part of a two-part joint 56, one hinge part of the slide bearing block 50 and the other joint part 58 is connected to a side strut 60 of the safety side part 34. The joint axes 61 of both joints 56 extend parallel to the longitudinal edges 37 of the lying surface 38. The two side struts 60 are connected via a connecting strut 62 interconnected. A longitudinal beam 64 of the safety side member 34 extends parallel to the connecting strut 62 and is provided at its ends with projecting struts 66 which are telescopically guided in the side struts 60 (see Fig. 5 ).

In the resting position according to Fig. 2 the safety side part 34 is arranged in the plane of the support part 32. To put it in the righting position according to Fig. 5 to convict, it is first by a pull-out movement in the intermediate position according to Fig. 3 transferred. The invention has been described above with reference to a bed in which the safety side parts are arranged on adjustable support parts of a mattress support device. Claims (7)

1. A bed, particularly a hospital or nursing bed, comprising

   - a bedstead (12) comprising supporting elements (14) for supporting on a ground and a frame supported by supporting elements (14), with a head portion (24), a foot portion (26) and at least one connecting portion (28) connecting them,

   - a mattress support device (30) with a mattress support surface for a mattress (36), defining a lying surface (38) laterally limited by longitudinal edges (37), the mattress support device (30) being provided with at least one support member (32) with two transverse bars (42) spaced from each other and extending transversely to the extension of the at least one connecting element (28) of the bedstead (12) and comprising side faces (48) which face each other and which face away from each other, as well as top and bottom faces,

   - at least one safety side part (34) supported at the at least one support member (32) of the mattress support device (30) so as to be movable between a rest position in which it is located below the lying surface (38) and an upright position in which the safety side part (34) extends at the side of the lying surface (38) beyond the latter,

   characterized in

   - that the top faces of the transverse bars (42) of the at least one support member (32) form at least a part of the mattress support surface, and

   - that the at least one safety side part (34) is movably supported at the averted side faces (48) of the transverse bars (42) of the at least one support member (32) of the mattress support device (30).
2. The bed of claim 1, characterized in that the at least one safety side part (34) is supported at the transverse bars (42) so as to be displaceable between the rest position and a position of maximum withdrawal within the plane defined by the transverse bars (42) of the at least one support member (32) of the mattress support device (30) and is adapted to be pivoted into the upright position in the position of maximum withdrawal.

The bed of claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the at least one safety side part (34) comprises a longitudinal bar (64) from which two arms (60) project at the free ends of which a two-part joint element (56) with a joint axle (61) extending parallel to the longitudinal bar (64) is respectively arranged, and that the one joint part (58) of each joint element (56) is connected with an arm (60) and the other joint part (50) is displaceably guided at a side face (48) of a transverse bar (42) of the at least one support member (32) of the mattress support device (30), respectively.
4. The bed of one of claims 1 to 3, characterized by two bearing blocks (50) allocated to the at least one safety side part (34), which are guided along guide rails (52) or guide grooves (54) arranged at the side faces (48) of the transverse bars (42) of the at least one support member (32) of the mattress support device (30) and which are connected with the at least one safety side part (34) in an articulated manner.
5. The bed of one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the at least one safety side part (34) is adapted to be locked particularly automatically in the upright position by means of a locking device adapted to be deactivated particularly manually.
6. The bed of one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the two transverse bars (42) of the at least one support member (32) of the mattress support device (30) are connected by two longitudinal bars (44) extending parallel to the at least one connecting portion (28) of the bedstead (12), for forming a circumferential frame (40) of the support member (32).
7. The bed of claim 5 and 6, characterized in that the locking device comprises an actuating element for deactivating, and that the actuating element is arranged at one of the longitudinal bars (44) of the at least one support member (32) of the mattress support device (30).
