Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a foldable plate and a method for their preparation according to the preamble of
Foldable plates resp. Plate elements are known for example from furniture technology and are used there, for example in the form of cabinet back panels, foldable partitions, accordion walls, display walls for product presentations and the like. In essence, in each case two or more plate parts are movably connected to each other by a hinge. This can on the one hand space for transport and storage can be saved, just when the unfolded plates span a large area, on the other hand, the visible parts of plates in the folded state during transport can be protected from damage. However, just this second aspect requires that the plates must be folded with the visible sides to each other lying, that they are actually protected.
In a simple embodiment, conventionally, two plate members are joined together along their adjacent edges by means of a folding tape. This folding tape serves at the same time as a connecting means as well as a hinge. Although the use of such a folding tape may realize a simple and fast connection of the plates, but leads, for example, to relatively wide joints in the unfolded state of the two plate elements, due to the thickness of the folding strip itself. Also, the fold tape visually often disturbs and it can also come depending on the use of materials to problems in terms of durability and strength of the compound. Especially when coated on the visible side plates, the tape must be attached to the back of the plate elements, which come to lie on the outside of the folded plate in the folding of these visible pages. Thus, these visible sides must be additionally protected against damage for transport and storage.
Furthermore, such a foldable plate is known, for example, from EP 0 759 839, in which the hinge element connecting the plate elements is formed from an adhesive connecting the two plate elements. The adhesive is introduced in a groove formed by the two adjacent edges of the plate elements. The advantage of this design can be seen in particular in a high production rate and thus cost-effective production. The disadvantage of this solution is the fact that when unfolded plate elements, i. if the plates are arranged folded in a plane, this groove resp. the adhesive is visible on one side of the element.
Another solution is shown in DE 198 04 787. An adhesive or tape is applied as a hinge for connecting two hardboard outside of these plates, which is against one side of the unfolded element towards a wide, visually clearly visible groove. Further, the solution shown in this document disadvantageously requires a relatively large amount of adhesive in order to realize the connection and the hinge.
The object of the present invention was to find such a foldable plate, which in addition to a cost-effective production only a slight visual impairment by the hinge element in the unfolded state shows, in particular a regular, only thin dividing line between the two plate elements on both sides of the plate having.
Weitere, bevorzugte Ausführungsformen ergeben sich aus den abhängigen Ansprüchen 2 bis 5.This object is achieved by a plate having the features of
The inventive arrangement of each profiling in the adjacent narrow sides of the plate elements of the hot melt adhesive can be applied optimally in the connection region and forms both an optimal connection of the two plate elements as well as an elastic hinge strip. The profiling may be formed as a groove and / or as a spring. The hinge strip is in the unfolded state of the plate on both the front and the rear side visually seen only as a thin line. Thus, the plate can be used advantageously both sides in unfolded state, for example as a partition for rooms in which both sides are visible. This eliminates the at least one side visible wide and thus visually disturbing Nutenrücken in all known conventional solutions.
Preferably, the profiling can even be such that on one side only the dividing line between the two plate halves is visible.
Further, the object is achieved by the method according to claim 8. Further, preferred embodiments of this method will become apparent from the features of further claim 7. By the claimed method of manufacture, the plates according to the invention can be produced in a particularly simple and inexpensive high quality.

3' ausgebildeten Nutprofilen 5 resp. 6 eingebracht ist.In Fig. 1, the partial section through the connecting region of two
The
Another advantage is that in the production of the
As a result of this design of the groove profiles 5, 6, the application nozzle for the adhesive 4 can now advantageously be supported on the non-profiled region of the narrow sides 2 ', 3', and thus realize an economical adhesive application only in the region of the groove profiles 5, 6, as already mentioned. Thus, the unfolding of the two
Characterized in that the actual connection of the two
It has been shown that the adhesive 4 is preferably a hot melt adhesive is used, which on the one hand is very easy to work, on the other hand also has optimal elastic properties and the required strength.
Of course, it is also conceivable to use other groove shapes instead of the V-shaped
The production of a
Thereafter, the adhesive 4 is introduced into these
It is clear that in an alternative procedure also
- Panel (1) consisting of at least two panel elements (2, 3), connected in a foldable manner by means of a bonding agent (4) along their mutually adjoining narrow sides (2', 3'), characterised in that the interconnected narrow sides (2', 3') of the two panel elements (2, 3) include a profiling (5, 6) for accommodating the bonding agent (4), the profiling being formed by grooves (5, 6) or by a tongue and groove combination (5, 7).
- Panel according to claim 1, characterised in that at least one of the interconnected narrow sides (2', 3') comprises inwardly directed grooves (5, 6).
- Panel according to claim 1, characterised in that in each case one of the interconnected narrow sides comprises a groove and a respectively corresponding narrow side comprises a tongue, which are so arranged that the tongue engages the groove when the panel elements (2, 3) are unfolded.
- Panel according to claim 1, characterised in that the grooves (5, 6) are in the form of V-grooves.
- Panel according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that in each case at least one region of the edge of the narrow side (2'; 3'), against a panel surface, is formed without profiling (5, 6), preferably forming a smooth surface approximately at a right angle to the panel surface.
- Panel according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the panel elements (2, 3) consist of wood fibre panels or chipboard panels, at least one panel surface including a refined surface, preferably a coated, varnished, printed or embossed surface.
- Panel according to claim 1, characterised in that the bonding agent (4) is a melt-type adhesive.
- Process for manufacturing a panel (1) according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that in the mutually adjoining narrow sides (2'; 3') of each panel element (2, 3) a profiling, engaging the narrow side (2', 3'), in particular a groove (5, 6) and/or a tongue (7) is formed and that the panel elements (2, 3) to be connected are so stacked one on top of the other that the edges of the narrow sides (2', 3') to be connected come to rest directly underneath each other and that thereafter the bonding agent (4) is applied or introduced jointly at least to/into the profiled region (5, 6) of the narrow sides (2', 3') of the panel elements (2, 3).
- Process according to claim 8, characterised in that the profiling (5, 6) is only formed after the two panel elements (2, 3) to be connected have been stacked one above the other, preferably by means of a single tool.
