Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for mixing products, in particular viscous pasty products in a mixing container by means of at least two stirrers immersed in the mixing container, each of which has a stirring shaft, from which mixing elements project radially, which mesh with one another.
- Mixers are known in many forms and designs and are on the market. They are used to mix any product or to mix several components of a product. They can also be used for thermal or chemical treatment of a product. For example, for the production of adhesives, sealants and other highly viscous, poorly flowing products in industry often use so-called intensive planetary mixers. These mixers consist of a vertical, cylindrical vessel with a flat bottom, in which mixing tools driven vertically from above rotate. These mixing tools often consist of two interlocking, counter-rotating or rotating elements that perform an orbital movement in addition to their own rotation in the container. With this movement, the entire container is coated and the product is intensively mixed at every point.
- the object of the present invention is to achieve optimal residual emptying and at the same time to improve the mixing effect.
- Mixing elements a mutual cleaning, a cleaning of the surface of the stirring shafts and / or
- stirrer geometries known from the mixer kneaders vertically, but also to perform an orbital movement with the stirrers in the container.
- This movement ensures that the inner surface of the container is coated even with larger containers, so that the inner surface is cleaned.
- These axially parallel surfaces are cleaned primarily by means of mixing bars, which represent the outer elements of the mixing element. These mixing bars can also run parallel to the axis or inclined, which can also influence the speed at which the product is transported from the feed nozzle to the discharge opening.
- the mixing bars can be arranged obliquely against the direction of flow of the product, so that the direction of flow is braked or the product is raised again somewhat.
- This idea of the invention of the movement of the stirrer or stirrers during simultaneous rotation applies not only to vertically arranged stirrers but also to obliquely or horizontally arranged stirrers.
- the protection of the present invention also relates to this.
- mixing bars also have the task of cleaning the stirrer shaft of the other stirrer. They pass close to the agitator shaft. For this purpose, it may be advisable to turn the agitator shafts at different speeds. Furthermore, the agitator shafts can rotate in the same direction or in opposite directions. All of this should be encompassed by the idea of the invention.
- the mixed bars preferably sit on a peripheral surface of disk elements. Not only is the mixing effect improved with the disc elements, but also a thermal treatment of the products can take place with the disc elements, provided the disc elements are heated or cooled.
- the product receives a horizontal component when it hits the disc elements, the product having to be transported horizontally to flow around the disc elements. This also significantly improves the mixing effect.
- the mixing bars preferably have mixing blades on both sides, which run radially towards the agitator shaft. These mixing blades brush close to the disc elements and clean them.
- the two stirrers are preferably connected to a planetary gear via which the stirrer is rotated.
- a drive is also provided, which can rotate at least one stirrer around the other.
- a stirrer could remain stationary approximately in the middle, while the other stirrer rotates around it and also cleans the inner wall of the container.
- both stirrers are preferably also movable in the container.
- a lifting device should preferably be assigned to the entire agitator so that the agitator can be removed from the container for cleaning.
- this device according to the invention Due to the large number of mixing bars and the engagement kinematics, this device according to the invention generates a large number of shear gaps and an intensive product movement, which lead to shorter mixing / kneading times.
- the use of the mixer according to the invention is particularly advantageous for the production of highly viscous adhesives and sealants based on polyurethane or silicone.
- Such mixers serve a wide variety of purposes.
- the first thing to mention is evaporation with solvent recovery, which is carried out batchwise or continuously and often under vacuum.
- solvent recovery which is carried out batchwise or continuously and often under vacuum.
- distillation residues and in particular toluene diisocyanates are treated, but also production residues with toxic or high-boiling solvents from chemistry and pharmaceutical production, washing solutions and lacquer sludges, polymer solutions, elastomer solutions from solvent polymerization, adhesives and sealing compounds.
- the apparatus is also used for continuous or batch-wise contact drying, water and / or solvent-moist products, often also under vacuum.
- the application is primarily intended for pigments, dyes, fine chemicals, additives such as salts, oxides, hydroxides, antioxidants, temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and vitamin products, active ingredients, polymers, synthetic rubbers, polymer suspensions, latex, hydrogels, waxes, pesticides and residues from the chemical or pharmaceutical production, such as salts, catalysts, slags, leaching.
- additives such as salts, oxides, hydroxides, antioxidants, temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and vitamin products, active ingredients, polymers, synthetic rubbers, polymer suspensions, latex, hydrogels, waxes, pesticides and residues from the chemical or pharmaceutical production, such as salts, catalysts, slags, leaching.
- Degassing and / or devolatilization can take place in mixers. This is applied to polymer melts, after condensation of polyester or polyamide melts, to spinning solutions for synthetic fibers and to polymer or elastomer granules or powder in the solid state.
- a polycondensation reaction can take place in a mixer and is mainly used in the treatment of polyamides, polyesters, polyacetates, polyimides, thermoplastics, elastomers, silicones, urea resins, phenolic resins, detergents and fertilizers.
- a polymerization reaction can also take place, usually also continuously. This is applied to polyacrylates, hydrogels, polyols, thermoplastic polymers, elastomers, syndiotactic polysterol and polyacrylamides.
- solid / liquid reactions and multi-phase reactions can take place in the mixer. This applies above all to baking reactions in the treatment of hydrofluoric acid, stearates, cyanates, polyphosphates, cyanuric acids, cellulose derivatives, esters, ethers, polyacetal resins, sulfanilic acids, Cu phthalocyanines, starch derivatives, ammonium polyphosphates, sulfonates, pesticides and fertilizers.
- reactions can take place in solid / gaseous form (e.g. carboxylation) or liquid / gaseous form. This is used in the treatment of acetates, acids, Kolbe-Schmitt reactions, e.g. BON, Na salicylates, parahydroxibenzoates and pharmaceutical products.
- Liquid / liquid reactions take place during neutralization reactions and transesterification reactions.
- Dissolving and / or degassing in such mixers takes place in spinning solutions for synthetic fibers, polyamides, polyesters and celluloses.
- a so-called flushing takes place during the treatment or production of pigments.
- Solid-state post-condensation takes place in the production or treatment of polyester and polyamides, continuous mashing, for example in the treatment of fibers, for example cellulose fibers with solvents, crystallization from the melt or from solutions in the treatment of salts, fine chemicals, Polyols, alcoholates, compounding, mixing (continuous and / or batchwise) in the case of polymer mixtures, silicone compositions, sealing compositions, fly ash, coagulation (in particular continuous) in the treatment of polymer suspensions.
- Multifunctional processes can also be combined in a mixer, for example heating, drying, melting, crystallizing, mixing, degassing, reacting - all of this continuously or in batches.
- a mixer for example heating, drying, melting, crystallizing, mixing, degassing, reacting - all of this continuously or in batches.
- Vacuum sublimation / desublimation can also take place in mixers, as a result of which chemical precursors, e.g. Anthraquinone, metal chlorides, organometallic compounds, etc. can be cleaned. Pharmaceutical intermediates can also be produced.
- chemical precursors e.g. Anthraquinone, metal chlorides, organometallic compounds, etc.
- Pharmaceutical intermediates can also be produced.
- Continuous carrier gas desublimation takes place e.g. organic intermediates, e.g. Anthraquinone and

- a discharge screw 5 connects to this discharge opening 4. It is driven by a corresponding drive 6.
- stirrers 7 and 8 which are designed similarly. Each stirrer has a stirrer shaft 9 on which there are a plurality of disk elements 10 axially spaced apart. Mixing bars 12, which run approximately parallel to the shaft 9, are seated on a peripheral surface 11 of the disk element 10. Radial mixing blades 13.1 and 13.2 project on both sides and are oriented towards the shaft 9. The arrows in FIG. 2 indicate that the two stirrers 7 and 8 rotate clockwise in the same direction.
- Both stirrers 7 and 8 are connected to a planetary gear 14, which ensures that the two stirrers 7 and 8 perform a rotary movement in the mixing container 1.
- the planetary gear 14 is connected to a drive 15, which is only indicated schematically.
- a corresponding drive shaft 16 between the drive 15 and the planetary gear 14 is attacked by a lifting device 17.
