Description

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Verbindungsstecker zum Anschluß einer Eingabe/Ausgabe-Einheit, wie eines Aktors, eines Sensors oder dgl. an eine Maschinensteuerung mit einem zentralen Datenbus nach dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.
Es ist bekannt, im Datenbus einer Maschinensteuerung Anschlußboxen anzuordnen, die als Busknoten die Anschlußkabel angeschlossener Aktoren und Sensoren sammeln. Hierzu ist es notwendig, jeden Aktor und Sensor über ein eigenes Kabel mit der Anschlußbox zu verbinden. Dies bedingt einen hohen Materialeinsatz und führt zu dicken Kabelbäumen, die in entsprechenden Kabelschächten und Kanälen zu sammeln sind.
Aus der US-B 6,291,770 ist ein Kabelbaum bekannt, bei dem über einen Verbindungsstecker mehrere Aktoren oder Sensoren an einen gemeinsamen Datenbus anzuschließen sind. Hierzu weist der Verbindungsstecker einen durchgeschleiften Datenbus auf, an den über weitere Steckverbindungen Aktoren und/oder Sensoren anzuschließen sind. Zur Inbetriebnahme eines derartigen Datenbusses muß eine korrekte Adressenzuordnung sichergestellt sein, um einen störungsfreien Betrieb zu gewährleisten.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, einen einfachen Anschluß von Sensoren und/oder Aktoren an einen zentralen Datenbus einer Maschinensteuerung mit sicherer Adressenzuweisung bereitzustellen.
Die Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß nach den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 gelöst.
Über eine erste Steckverbindung ist der Verbindungsstecker mit dem ankommenden Kabel verbunden, welches auf eine zweite Steckverbindung durchgeschleift ist, an welche folgende Einheiten angeschlossen werden können. An dem ankommenden Kabel können so in einer Reihe hintereinander mehrere Sensoren und mehrere Aktoren angeschlossen werden, wobei diese E/A-Einheiten auch gemischt an einem gleichen Kabel angeschlossen werden können. Der Verbindungsstecker weist einen Anschluß für die Verbindung mit der zugeordneten Eingabe/Ausgabe-Einheit auf, wobei der Anschluß über eine im Gehäuse des Verbindungssteckers angeordnete Elektronik an das durchgeschleifte Kabel angeschlossen ist. Dadurch ist einerseits die Möglichkeit geschaffen, über die Elektronik den Anschluß entsprechend der angeschlossenen E/A-Einheit anzusteuern. Der intelligente Verbindungsstecker erkennt über die im Gehäuse integrierte Elektronik die angeschlossene Einheit und bindet die Einheit entsprechend an die einzelnen Leitungen des Kabels zum Datenbus an. Der Benutzer kann den gleichen Verbindungsstecker zum Anschluß von Sensoren als auch zum Anschluß von Aktoren benutzen. Andererseits wird beim Anfahren der Anlage eine einfache Adressierung ermöglicht. Hierzu wird die Spannungsversorgung der nachfolgenden intelligenten Verbindungsstecker durch den elektronischen Schalter unterbrochen. Nachdem der erste Verbindungsstecker am Kabel des Datenbusses durch die Maschinensteuerung adressiert ist und der daran angeschlossene Aktor oder Sensor über diese Adresse dem System zugeordnet ist, wird der elektronische Schalter geschlossen, so daß der nächste Verbindungsstecker in der Reihe des Kabels mit Spannung versorgt ist. Nun wird der nächste Verbindungsstecker in gleicher Weise adressiert und nach abgeschlossener Adressierung wiederum der in diesem Stecker vorgesehene elektronische Schalter geschlossen. Auf diese Weise werden nacheinander alle an einem Datenbus angeschlossenen Sensoren und Aktoren adressiert und mit ihrer Adresse im System zugeordnet.
In einer ersten Ausführungsform ist das Gehäuse des Verbindungssteckers nach Art einer Steckerleiste ausgebildet. Dabei wird der Anschluß zu der angeschlossenen Eingabe/Ausgabe-Einheit trägt. Der Stecker ist bevorzugt als Multipolventilstecker ausgebildet und dient dem Anschluß einer Aktoreinheit, die durch eine Ventilinsel gebildet ist. Durch Konfektionierung des freien Endes des Anschlusskabels mit angepassten Multipolventilstecker können Ventilinseln unterschiedlicher Hersteller mit dem System verbunden werden.
Es kann vorteilhaft sein, den Anschluß für die Eingabe/Ausgabe-Einheit als im Gehäuse montierter und gehaltener Steckanschluß auszubilden, so daß der Verbindungsstecker ohne äußeres Verbindungskabel unmittelbar auf das Gehäuse einer Eingabe/Ausgabe-Einheit wie einen Sensor oder einen Aktor aufgesteckt werden kann.
Vorteilhaft ist die Elektronik im Gehäuse des Verbindungssteckers eingegossen, insbesondere dicht eingegossen, so daß auch unter rauhen Umgebungsbedingungen eine mechanische Schädigung der Elektronik oder Einflüsse durch Schmutz, Lösungsmittel oder dgl. sicher vermieden sind. Dabei entspricht das Material, mit dem die Elektronik im Gehäuse vergossen wird, vorzugsweise dem Gehäusematerial des Verbindungssteckers.
Der derart massiv ausgebildete Verbindungsstecker weist eine Befestigungsöffnung auf, die in das Gehäuse integriert ist. Mittels der Befestigungsöffnung kann der Verbindungsstecker mechanisch festgelegt werden, wobei gleichzeitig die angeschlossenen Kabel ortsfest fixiert sind.
Die eingegossene Elektronik ist mit einer Leuchtdiode versehen, die in der Wand des Steckergehäuses als optische Anzeige dient. Über die Elektronik kann eine Selbstdiagnose sowohl der angeschlossenen Eingabe/Ausgabe-Einheit vorgenommen werden, als auch das ankommende und das - weiterführende Kabel überwacht werden.
Um unterschiedlichen Einbaubedingungen Rechnung zu tragen, ist der Steckanschluß in Seitenansicht in der Form eines T oder eines Y ausgebildet, wobei der Steckanschluß den Fuß des T bzw. des Y bildet und die Steckverbindungen die Enden des Querbalken des T bzw. die beiden oberen Enden des Y darstellen.
Weitere Merkmale der Erfindung ergeben sich aus den weiteren Ansprüchen, der Beschreibung und der Zeichnung, in der nachfolgend im einzelnen beschriebene Ausführungsbeispiele der Erfindung dargestellt sind. Es zeigen:

Der in den Fig. 1 bis 3 gezeigte Verbindungsstecker 1 dient dem Anschluß von Eingabe/Ausgabe-Einheiten (E/A-Einheiten), wie eines Aktors 2, 4 oder eines Sensors 3, 5 an einen zentralen Datenbus 6, der über Stecker 6a anzuschließen ist. Jede der Eingabe/Ausgabe-Einheiten 2, 3, 4, 5 ist über den Verbindungsstecker 1 mit einem mehradrigen elektrischen Kabel 7 verbunden, das zu einer Anschlußbox 8 führt, die als Busknoten 9 eine Vielzahl von E/A-Einheiten über Stecker 10 an den Datenbus 6 anschließt.
Neben dem Datenbus 6 ist über die Anschlußbox 8 ein Energieanschluß 11 für die Spannungsversorgung der Sensoren 3, 5 und Aktoren 2, 4 vorgesehen. Die notwendige Betriebsspannung UAktor und USensor ist ebenfalls über das Kabel 7 zugeführt, welches insbesondere als sechsadriges Kabel 7 ausgeführt ist.
Wie in Fig. 1 gezeigt und in den Fig. 2 und 3 vergrößert dargestellt, weist das Gehäuse 12 des Verbindungssteckers 1 eine erste Steckverbindung 20 für ein ankommendes Kabel 21 sowie eine zweite Steckverbindung 30 für ein weiterführendes Kabel 31 auf. Wie in der schematischen Darstellung in Fig. 4 zu sehen, ist das an der ersten Steckverbindung 20 ankommende Kabel ohne Unterbrechung auf die zweite, weiterführende Steckverbindung 30 durchgeschleift.
Das Gehäuse 12 der Steckverbindung 1 weist ferner einen Steckanschluß 40 auf, an den eine E/A-Einheit 2, 3, 4, 5 angeschlossen ist. Dabei kann der Steckanschluß 40 unmittelbar an dem Gehäuse 13 des Sensors 3,5 oder aber dem Gehäuse 14 des Aktors 2,4 aufgesteckt sein. Der Verbindungsstecker 1 wird so unmittelbar auf dem Gehäuse 13, 14 der E/A-Einheit aufgesteckt gehalten.
Der Steckanschluß 40 ist elektrisch über eine im Gehäuse 12 angeordnete Elektronik 15 an das durchgeschleifte Kabel 7 angeschlossen. Über einen zentralen Mikroprozessor 16 wird der Steckanschluß 40 konfiguriert, wobei die Elektronik 15 selbständig erkennt, ob ein Sensor 3, 5 oder ein Aktor 2, 4 angeschlossen ist. Entsprechend werden die Anschlußleitungen 17 geschaltet, so daß der Benutzer lediglich den intelligenten Verbindungsstecker mit dem Sensor 3,5 oder Aktor 2,4 zu verbinden hat und weitere Einstellmaßnahmen nicht notwendig sind.
Der Verbindungsstecker 1 kann - bei ansonsten gleich ausgebildetem Gehäuse 12 - als T-Verbindungsstecker ausgeführt sein (Fig. 2) oder aber die Gestalt eines Y (Fig. 3) haben. So kann für jeden Einsatzort ein geeigneter Stecker ausgewählt werden.
Wie Fig. 1 zeigt, kann mit dem intelligenten Verbindungsstecker 1 an einen Stecker 10 der Anschlußbox 8 des Busknotens 9 mehr als ein Aktor oder Sensor angeschlossen werden. Das Bus- und Energiekabel 7 wird durch jeden Verbindungsstecker 1 durchgeschleift, so daß an dem Kabel 7 parallel mehrere Sensoren 3, 5 und Aktoren 2, 4 betrieben werden können. Bemerkenswert ist, daß an dem gleichen Kabel sowohl Eingabe-Einheiten wie Sensoren als auch Ausgabe-Einheiten wie Aktoren gemischt angeschlossen werden können.
Es kann für bestimmte Einsatzzwecke notwendig sein, den intelligenten Verbindungsstecker 1 mit Abstand zum Sensor 5 oder Aktor 4 anzuordnen, wobei der Abstand über ein entsprechendes Verbindungskabel 18 bzw. 19 zu überbrücken ist. So können auch bei engen Einbau-Verhältnissen intelligente Verbindungsstecker 1 genutzt werden. Um die Verbindungsstecker 1 bei Bedarf festlegen zu können, ist im Gehäuse 12 des Verbindungssteckers 1 eine Befestigungsöffnung 45 vorgesehen, durch die eine Befestigungsschraube oder dgl. Befestigungselement geführt werden kann.
Die Elektronik 15 ist so ausgelegt, daß der Mikroprozessor 16 eine optische Anzeige in Form einer Leuchtdiode 25 steuert, wobei die Leuchtdiode zweckmäßig in der Wand des Gehäuses 12 des Verbindungssteckers 1 eingelassen ist. Dadurch kann am Verbindungsstecker 1 angezeigt werden, ob der angeschlossene Aktor 2, 4 oder Sensor 3, 5 Funktionsstörungen zeigt. Gleichzeitig kann über die Leuchtdiode 25 der ordnungsgemäße Zustand des weiterführenden Kabels angezeigt werden. Der Benutzer kann so ohne aufwendige technische Maßnahmen durch einen Kontrollgang längs des Kabels 7 feststellen, ob und an welcher Stelle Fehler auftreten.
Zur Diagnose der angeschlossenen Kabel 21, 31 und/oder der aufgesteckten Sensoren 3,5 oder Aktoren 2,4 ist im Mikroprozessor 16 eine Diagnoseeinheit 26 integriert. Die Anschlußleitungen 17 sind mit einem Eingangsmodul 28 verbunden, welches vom Mikroprozessor 16 gesteuert ist. Über elektronische Schalter 27 und ein Ausgangsmodul 29 sind die Anschlußleitungen 17 auch als Ausgänge zu schalten.
Um den Verbindungsstecker und die darin angeordnete Elektronik auch in rauhen Betriebsumgebungen einsetzen zu können, ist vorgesehen, die Elektronik 15 im Gehäuse des Verbindungssteckers 1 einzugießen, insbesondere dicht einzugießen. Um zu gewährleisten, daß die Leuchtdiode 25 nicht von dem dunklen Material des Gehäuses 12 vollständig umgeben wird, ist zum Ausgleich von Toleranzen auf die Leuchtdiode ein Tropfen klares Silikon aufgebracht. Wird die Elektronik 15 in die Spritzform eingelegt, gleicht der Silikontropfen etwaige Toleranzen aus; das dunkle Material des Gehäuses, welches gleichzeitig zum Umspritzen der Elektronik 15 verwendet wird, kann die Leuchtdiode nicht vollständig umschließen, so daß die optische Erkennbarkeit von außen gewährleistet ist. Die Maßnahme, die Leuchtdiode oder eine andere optische Anzeige vor dem Umspritzen der Elektronik mit einem Tropfen Silikon zu versehen, ist für sich in der Fertigungstechnik von besonderer Bedeutung. Der Gedanke des Aufbringens eines Silikontropfens ist auch unabhängig von der vorliegenden Erfindung des Verbindungssteckers in der Fertigungstechnik vorteilhaft einsetzbar.
Um auch die Verbindungsstecker 20, 30 und den Steckanschluß 40 dicht auszuführen, können Gewindeverbindungen z. B. in M12 vorgesehen sein. So ist die Schutzklasse IP67 gewährleistet.
Die einzelnen Sensoren 3, 5 und Aktoren 2, 4 werden im Datenbus 6 durch eigene Adressen erkannt, wobei die eigenen Adressen bei der Inbetriebnahme der Steuerungsanlage vom System zugewiesen werden. Um beim Anfahren der Anlage die Adressierung zu ermöglichen, ist vorgesehen, die Spannungsversorgung der nachfolgenden intelligenten Verbindungsstecker durch einen elektronischen Schalter 23 zu unterbrechen. Die Spannungsversorgung des Mikroprozessors 16 wird zwischen der eingehenden Steckverbindung 20 und dem elektronischen Schalter 23 abgegriffen, so daß nur die erste Steckverbindung 1 im Kabel 7 mit Spannung versorgt ist. Nachdem der erste Verbindungsstecker am Kabel 7 durch die Maschinensteuerung adressiert ist und der daran angeschlossene Sensor 3 über diese Adresse im System zugeordnet ist, wird der elektronische Schalter 23 über den Mikroprozessor 16 angesteuert und geschlossen, so daß der nächste Verbindungsstecker 1 in der Reihe des Kabels 7 mit Spannung versorgt ist. Nun wird der nächste Verbindungsstecker in der gleichen Weise adressiert und nach abgeschlossener Adressierung wiederum der in diesem Stecker vorgesehene elektronische Schalter 23 vom Mikroprozessor 16 geschlossen, so daß der dann folgende Verbindungsstecker 1 mit Spannung versorgt ist. Auf diese Weise werden nacheinander alle an einem Kabel 7 angeschlossenen Sensoren und Aktoren adressiert und mit ihrer Adresse im System zugeordnet.
Der letzte Verbindungsstecker 1 schließt das Kabel 7 ab. Entsprechend weist dessen Gehäuse 12' nur eine Steckverbindung 20' für für das ankommende Kabel 21' und einen Steckanschluß 40' für den Sensor 3 auf. Die weiterführende Steckverbindung ist entfallen.
Im Ausführungsbeispiel nach den Figuren 5 und 6 ist der Verbindungsstecker 1 in der Form etwa einer Anschlußleiste gestaltet, wobei an einem Ende in einer Reihe hintereinander die Steckverbindung 20 für das ankommende Kabel 21 und die Steckverbindung 30 für das weiterführende Kabel 31 vorgesehen sind. Die Steckverbindung 20 ist als Stecker, die Steckverbindung 30 als Buchse ausgeführt.
Auf der den Steckverbindern 20 und 30 gegenüberliegenden Stirnseite der länglichen, quaderförmigen Anschlußleiste ist im Gehäuse 12a der Anschluß 40 vorgesehen, der im Ausführungsbeispiel nach den Figuren 5 und 6 aus einem vorzugsweise 25-poligen Anschlußkabel 19a besteht, dessen freies Ende 41 einen Anschlußstecker 44 trägt. Der Anschlußstecker 44 ist vorzugsweise als Multipolventilstecker ausgebildet und dient der Verbindung mit einer als Ventilinsel ausgebildeten Aktoreinheit 4. Die Ventilinsel besteht aus mehreren, im Ausführungsbeispiel acht nebeneinander angeordneten Schaltventilen 45, die in einer gemeinsamen Ventilbank 46 gehalten sind.
Der als Anschlußleiste ausgebildete Ventilstecker 1 ist über die interne Systemverbindung mit dem übergeordneten Bussystem verbunden und ermöglicht eine direkte Anschaltung der Multipolventilinsel. Durch entsprechende Konfektionierung der Anschlußkabel 19a können verschiedene Steckersysteme der unterschiedlichen Ventilhersteller angeschlossen werden.
Die in Fig. 4 gezeigte, in der Anschlußleiste 1 integrierte Elektronik ermöglicht eine elektrische Drahtbrucherkennung. Jeder angeschlossene Kanal wird einzeln auf Kurzschluß überwacht. Die maximale Kanalanzahl beträgt im Ausführungsbeispiel sechzehn. Ein Fehler, z. B. Kurzschluß oder Drahtbruch, wird von der Elektronik über eine z. B. rote LED 25 auf der Oberseite des Gehäuses 12a angezeigt. Zusätzlich kann jeder Fehler auch einzeln als Klartext auf dem internen System bzw. übergeordneten System gemeldet werden.

Claims (10)

  1. Verbindungsstecker zum Anschluß einer E/A-Einheit, wie eines Aktors (2, 4), eines Sensors (3, 5) oder dgl. an eine Maschinensteuerung mit einem zentralen Datenbus (6), wobei die E/A-Einheit (2, 3, 4, 5) über den Verbindungsstecker (1) mit einem mehradrigen elektrischen Kabel (7) zu verbinden ist, das zu einem Busknoten (9) führt, wobei das Gehäuse (12, 12a) des Verbindungssteckers (1) eine erste Steckverbindung (20) für ein ankommendes Kabel (21) und eine zweite Steckverbindung (30) für ein weiterführendes Kabel (31) aufweist, wobei das ankommende Kabel (21) zum weiterführenden Kabel (31) durchgeschleift ist und das Gehäuse (12, 12a) einen Anschluß (40) für die E/A-Einheit (2, 3, 4, 5) aufweist, und der Anschluß (40) über eine im Gehäuse (12, 12a) des Verbindungssteckers (1) angeordnete Elektronik (15) an das durchgeschleifte Kabel (7) angeschlossen ist, wobei die Elektronik (15) einen elektronischen Schalter (23) umfaßt, der die Spannungsversorgung zur Steckverbindung (30) des weiterführenden Kabels (31) unterbricht und der elektronische Schalter (23) von der Elektronik (15) dann geschlossen ist, wenn dem Verbindungsstecker (1) von der Maschinensteuerung eine Adresse zugeordnet ist.
  2. Verbindungsstecker nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Gehäuse (12a) nach Art einer Steckerleiste und der Anschluß (40) als aus dem Gehäuse (12a) führendes Kabel (19a) ausgebildet ist, dessen freies äußeres Ende (41) einen mehrpoligen Anschlußstecker (44) trägt, der vorzugsweise als Multipolventilstecker ausgebildet ist.
  3. Verbindungsstecker nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Anschluß (40) als im Gehäuse (12) gehaltener Steckanschluß ausgebildet ist.
  4. Verbindungsstecker nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Elektronik (15) im Gehäuse (12) des Verbindungssteckers (1) eingegossen, insbesondere dicht eingegossen ist.
  5. Verbindungsstecker nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß im Gehäuse (12) eine Befestigungsöffnung (45) integriert ist.
  6. Verbindungsstecker nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in der Wand des Gehäuses (12) eine optische Anzeige, insbesondere eine Leuchtdiode (25) angeordnet ist.
  7. Verbindungsstecker nach Anspruch 6,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Leuchtdiode (25) vor dem Eingießen der Elektronik mit einem Tropfen Silikon benetzt ist.
  8. Verbindungsstecker nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Gehäuse (12) mit den Steckverbindungen (20, 30) und dem Steckanschluß (40) in Seitenansicht etwa die Form eines T oder Y aufweist.
  9. Verbindungsstecker nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Verbindungsstecker (1) unmittelbar auf das Gehäuse (12) der E/A-Einheit (2, 3, 4, 5) aufgesteckt ist.
  10. Verbindungsstecker nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Elektronik (15) den elektronischen Schalter (23) im Ruhezustand unterbricht.
