Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for receiving printed products according to claim 1.
  • a printed end product For producing a printed end product from a plurality of individual printed products, it is known to place a plurality of centrally folded printed products astride a saddle-like support. This manufacturing mode will be referred to as collecting mode in the following. Furthermore, it is known to introduce a plurality of folded or unfolded printed products in pocket-shaped receiving elements so that they come to rest next to each other. This is referred to below as collating. Finally, it is also known to introduce one or more folded or unfolded printed products into a folded and opened printed product, which is referred to below as plugging. To produce a complex end-of-print product, eg a newspaper or a magazine, it is desirable to selectively insert, collate and / or collect individual printed products in any order.
  • a complex end-of-print product eg a newspaper or a magazine
  • WO 98/33656 discloses a method in which folded printed products are inserted in a defined manner into one another or into a folded main product.
  • the main product is located in a pocket-like receiving element.
  • a device for bringing together printed products is known, taken in the printed products of pocket-like or in cross-section L-shaped receiving elements become.
  • the receiving elements have a flat support element, which is inclined slightly from the vertical, as well as an angled bottom element, to which the printed products abut with one of its edges.
  • a horizontally extending upper part of the support element forms a support on which printed products can be placed astride.
  • This upper part and the interface between the floor and support elements define a feed plane into which printed products are fed.
  • the lower part of the support element adjoining the bottom element is designed so as to be pivotable about the boundary line between bottom and support element. Since products received during pivoting can be moved out of the feed plane, it is possible with this support element to first collect a number of products and then to collect a number of products. However, it is not possible to bring more than one other printed product to a previously defined location after collection by collecting or collating. For a second additional printed product would encounter when feeding edge to edge on a first other printed product and then randomly either slip right or left next to the first other printed product or even fall out of the receiving element.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a device for receiving printed products available, which can be used without adjustments to the receiving element itself for the production of printing end products with a variety of possible variations.
  • a high degree of flexibility should be achievable with regard to the formats of the printed products used and / or the order of the printed products supplied, at least in the feeding modes "collecting” and “collating".
  • the rejection element according to the invention which is assigned to a receiving element for printed products at least in a transfer region, can deflect a printed product fed to the receiving element from the already received printed products.
  • the supplied printed product is thus positioned in a defined manner.
  • the printed product is preferably deflected in the "collating" feed mode so that at least part of the printed product fed in is positioned on the side of the printed products already taken away from the support element.
  • part of the folded and opened printed product is next to an already stored product in Position while the other part is placed on the other side of the support member.
  • Receiving element and rejection element are designed so that they are moved at the same speed and direction of movement, at least in a transfer area in which individual printed products are transferred to a receiving element, hereinafter referred to as the removal speed and direction.
  • the receiving elements are preferably moved past different feed stations, where each individual printed products are delivered to the receiving elements.
  • the rejection elements can be arranged in the region of these feed stations and can only be moved there with the receiving elements.
  • each receiving element can be associated with its own rejection element, which is constantly moved along with it, preferably by being attached to it.
  • the rejection element is additionally movable in a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of the receiving elements, so that it can optionally be pulled out after depositing a printed product deposited on the overlay. In this way, it is achieved that a subsequently deposited further printed product is again exposed to the deflecting effect of the rejection element.
  • the rejection element is preferably movable parallel to the support or pivotable about an axis extending substantially in the conveying direction. Another variant provides that the rejection element extends only over a part of the width of the receiving element and stored printed products are pushed from this, provided they are still astride the rejection element.
  • the receiving element at this end preferably has a stop, which is located in the region of the support and / or the bottom part or of the support element.
  • the inventive combination of the receiving element with a rejection element can be realized in an advantageous manner printing end products with any arrangement of their individual components.
  • the invention can be easily integrated into one of the known devices for bringing together flat products, for example as known from EP-A 0771754.
  • the printed products can be supplied to the receiving elements in a known manner, for example as described in EP-A 0771754 or in the non-prepublished Swiss Patent Application No. 2000 0414/00 or in CH 689864.
  • a gripper transporter according to the non-prepublished patent applications Nos. 2000 0416/00 and 2000 0417/00 can be used.
  • the support is designed to pivot downwards.
  • the printed products supplied in the collection mode are largely independent of the format placed on the bottom element. Collected and collected printed products are therefore automatically aligned along the ground plane and preferably also along a common side edge. Removing the Printing end product by simultaneously taking the partial products is therefore particularly easy to adjust without having to adapt a transfer device to different formats. On the rejection element can be omitted in this case.
  • FIG. 1a and 1b show a receiving element 1 according to the invention and a rejection element 5 according to the invention in two different views in the conveying direction W or perpendicular thereto.
  • the support element 2 is slightly inclined from the vertical, so that the bottom element 3 and the support element 2 form a pocket-like receptacle or contact surface for flat products.
  • the upper edge of the support element 2 forms a support 4, on the folded printed products 8 can be placed astride.
  • the receiving element 1 printed products can therefore both collected, as here the printed products 6 and 7, as well as collected, as here the printed products 8 and the newly added printed product 9.
  • the order and the number in one certain mode supplied products can be freely selected.
  • the lower edge 2a of the support member 2 is slightly inclined from the horizontal, so that collected and collected printed products slip up to the deflecting element 5 facing away from the outer edge 2b of the support member 2.
  • a stop 16 which may also be movable relative to the support member 2. All printed products are therefore aligned independently of the format along a common edge 21. At this edge 21 they can be picked up for transport away or for further processing.
  • the receiving element 1 is movable with a conveyor system 13 in the conveying direction W.
  • the receiving elements 1 are moved, for example along a closed orbit U, as shown in Fig. 10.
  • the support member 2 is connected via a boom 14 with a conveyor 13a in the form of a carriage and pivotable about an axis 15 extending substantially in the conveying direction.
  • the pivotability serves primarily for emptying the receiving element 1, as shown for example in FIGS. 7 and 9.
  • the receiving element 1 can also be pivoted about the axis 15 in order to align all recorded printed products on the common edge 21. This is particularly advantageous for the variant of a receiving element shown in Fig. 2 with fixedly attached rejection element 5.
  • the rejection element 5 consists of a web 10, which deflects newly supplied printed products 9 of already deposited printed products 6, 7, 8 as the actual deflector, so that the newly supplied printed product 9 is positioned laterally therefrom.
  • the supplied printed products 9 are aligned along a common edge 20, wherein this edge 20 is when feeding above the rejection element 5.
  • a longitudinal edge of the web 10 acts as a repellent surface or edge 11, over which glide past coming products 9 and determines a feed level.
  • the deflecting surface 11 is spaced from the bearing plane defined by the support element 2. The distance preferably corresponds to the thickness of the parts of a typical final printed product taken up by bottom element 3 and support element 2.
  • the rejection element is designed such that at least parts of it are spaced from the abutment plane defined by the support element 2. These parts define the feed level, which is outside the plant level.
  • printed products 9 are supplied from above and slide over the web 10 of the rejection element 5. If the printed products fed in the mode 'collation', they slide largely due to the inclination of the support member 2 by itself in its final position, in the flush with the common edge 21. In the 'Collect' mode, the printed products first come to lie on the web 10. This is brought in the example of FIG. 1 from a first position A, in which he perceives Abweiserfunktion, in a second position B. The web 10 is thereby pulled out from under the fold, so that the printed product 9 is deposited on the support 4. To move between the positions A and B, the deflector 5 is movably mounted on a linear rail 18.
  • the web 10 is connected via a support arm 17 with the rail 18 and can on this slide. In this case, the web 10 moves substantially parallel to the direction defined by the support 4 direction.
  • the rejection elements 5 are moved with a conveyor system 19 with the receiving elements 1, as shown for example in Figures 11a and 11b.
  • FIGS. 2 a and 2 b show a further embodiment of a receiving element 1 according to the invention with a support element 2 and a base element 3 and with a deflection element 5 according to the invention.
  • the deflection element 5 is firmly fastened to the support element 2 in this case.
  • Printed products 9 slide over the rejection element 5 and initially come to rest partially on the web 10 of the rejection element 5 during collection. Due to the inclination of the support member 2 from the horizontal, the supplied printed products 9 slide up to the end of the support 4, which faces away from the deflector 5. There they are stopped by a stop 16. The distance of the stop 16 from the tip 10a of the web 10 corresponds to at least the typical maximum edge length of a printed product.
  • Fig. 3a, b show a further embodiment of a receiving element 1 according to the invention with a support element 2 and a bottom element 3 and one on the support element 2 fastened, relative to linearly displaceable deflector element 5.
  • the construction of the receiving element 1 and the Abweiselements 5 corresponds substantially to Fig. 1a, b.
  • the one web 10 and a holding arm 17 having rejection element is displaceable along a rail 18 between a first position A and a second position B.
  • no separate conveyor system is provided for rejection elements, but the deflector element 5 is firmly connected to the corresponding receiving element.
  • the displaceability between the positions A and B is preferably realized in that web 10 and holding arm 17 are held by a spring in the second position B and can be moved by means of a link in the first position A.
  • FIG. 4a, b show a further example of a receiving element 1 according to the invention with a deflecting element 5.
  • the deflecting element 5 is fastened to the supporting element 2 of the receiving element and along a rail 18 between a first position A and a second position B movable.
  • the support element 2 is designed in two pieces, wherein the support 4 is formed by the upper edge of a pivotably connected to the base body 2 'of the support member 2 arm 22.
  • the arm 22 is pivotable from a substantially horizontal position C about a substantially perpendicular to the surface defined by the support member 2 extending axis 23 in a further position D.
  • the mode 'collecting' supplied printed products 9 are initially stored astride the arm 22 and on the support 4. By pivoting the arm 22 in the position D they are placed regardless of their format on the bottom element 3 and aligned along the bottom edge.
  • the compiled print shop end product can so to Removal be taken.
  • the base body 2 'of the support member 2 approximately at mid-height on a recess 28, in which a gripper can engage, as shown for example in Fig. 6.
  • the main body 2 'further has a substantially horizontally extending edge 24 which supports the printed products even when the arm 22 is pivoted downwards.
  • Fig. 5 shows a possibility of transferring received in a receiving element 1 printed products 6, 8 to a further receiving element 26.
  • the receiving element 1 is pivoted to a substantially extending in the conveying direction W axis 15.
  • the arranged in the region of the support 4 stop 16 is moved so that collected on the support 4 products 8 can slide in or on the other receiving element 26.
