An vielen Montageorten, beispielsweise innerhalb von Tunnelanlagen, fehlt dieser Platz jedoch häufig. Außerdem besteht aufgrund des seitlichen Anbaus des Weichenantriebes nicht die Möglichkeit einer kompletten Montage des gesamten Weichenstellsystems im Weichenwerk.
