A schematically illustrated in Figure 1 chair 1, in particular an office chair, has a pedestal 2, which is supported by rollers 3 relative to the ground. On the pedestal 2, a height-adjustable chair column 4 is attached to the upper end of a seat support 5 is releasably attached, on which in turn a seat plate 6 is attached with a padded seat 7. At the rear end of the seat support 5 is a substantially upwardly extending backrest support 8 is attached to which a padded backrest 9 is attached. At the upper end of the backrest support 8, a headrest support 10 is attached, to which a headrest 11 is attached.

In the following, the structure of the seat support 5 and the seat plate 6 will be described in more detail with reference to Figures 2 to 5. The seat support 5 has a front seat support part 12 and a pivotable about this at a pivot axis 13 rear seat support part 14. The seat support part 12 consists of a substantially horizontally extending support 15 with a vertically extending conical receptacle 16, in which the upper end of the chair column 4 is fixed. At the front end of the carrier 15, an obliquely upwardly extending support arm 17 is attached. The chair has a horizontal, from the backrest 9 to the seat plate 6 facing front-direction 18, which corresponds to the viewing direction of a user of the chair 1. At the front end of the support arm 17 is a horizontally recessed, opposite to the direction 18 extending support arm 19 is attached, the free end 20 is above the support 15. At the end 20 of the support arm 19 is the rear Seat support part 14 pivotally connected via a shaft 21. The pivot axis 13 extends horizontally. The seat carrier part 14 has, adjacent to the shaft 21, a perpendicular to the direction 18 extending horizontally arranged, extending substantially across the width of the seat plate 6 cross member 22. At the outer ends 23 of the cross member 22, two arms 24 are mounted as components of the seat support member 14, which extend perpendicularly from the cross member 22 obliquely rearwardly above and include a horizontal angle B with an inclination angle a. The inclination angle a is variable by the pivoting of the seat support part 14 about the pivot axis 13, but is usually greater than 0 °. The typical range of the inclination angle a is between 20 ° and 30 °. The arms 24 merge into two substantially vertically extending struts 25 which form the backrest support 8. The lateral edge 26 of the seat plate 6 protrudes in the lateral direction slightly, but only slightly above the lateral edge of the arms 24, as shown in Figure 2. On the upper side of the arms 24 one, in each case also inclined at an angle of inclination a with respect to the horizontal, is raised towards the backrest 9 and is provided with a planar sliding surface 27. The cross member 22 has two tabs 28 projecting in the direction 18, through which the shaft 21 is guided and via which the rear seat support part 14 is articulated on the front seat support part 12. On the cross member 22 a downwardly projecting lever 29 is also centrally attached, at the lower end via a hinge 30, a force accumulator 31 is articulated in the form of a length-adjustable, operable from the outside gas spring. About the energy storage 31, a counter force is generated, for. B. when the user of the chair 1 leans with the backrest 9 to the rear. The rear seat support part 14 and the backrest support 8 are thus opposite to a coming from the power storage 31 force over the front Seat support part 12 pivotable. The chair 1 is constructed mirror-symmetrically with respect to the plane of symmetry A.

The seat plate 6 is supported relative to the front seat support part 12 via a front support-guide unit 32. At the front upper end of the support arm 17 is a horizontally extending on both sides extending horizontally extending support tube 33 which has a central longitudinal axis 34 which extends horizontally and parallel to the pivot axis 13 and the axis of the joint 30. The support tube 33 is arranged centrally below the seat plate 6 and extends approximately over three quarters of the width of the seat plate 6. The support tube 33 has in the region of its two outer ends annular cylindrical portions 35 on which a bearing sleeve 36 about the axis 34 is pivotable , The two bearing sleeves 36 each have on their upper side an upwardly projecting pin 37 with a radially projecting head 38, wherein the pin 37 is guided in an associated slot 39 in the seat plate 6, ie in a slot guide. The slot 39 has at its end lying in the direction 18 a keyhole opening 40 through which the head 38 can be pushed for mounting or dismounting the seat plate 6. The width of the head 38 is greater than the width of the slot 39, so that the seat plate 6 relative to the bearing sleeve 36 along the direction 18 is slidably guided, but can not be lifted, as long as the head 38 is not in the keyhole opening 40 is. Parallel to the slot 39 are on both sides downwardly projecting slides 41, which consist as the seat plate 6 made of plastic, which are supported on a parallel sliding support plate 42, which is connected to the sleeve 36 and on this is supported. The plate 42 protrudes in the direction 18 and opposite to this on the sleeve 36 and supports the seat plate 6, so that even with a heavy user of the chair 1 a kinking the front portion of the seat plate 6 is prevented. The plate 42 is, as well as the seat plate 6 in this area, slightly curved upwards, ie, relative to the axis 34 convex.

The seat plate 6 consists of a front seat plate part 43, which is supported against the front support guide unit 32, and a rear seat plate part 44, which has a rear support guide unit 45 relative to the rear seat support part 14th is supported. The seat plate parts 43 and 45 are connected to each other via a hinge 46. The hinge 46 is a living hinge. The parts 43 and 44 and the hinge 46 are integrally formed of plastic. The front part 43 is, as already mentioned, curved upwards. The rear part 44 is flat. The seat plate 6 is surrounded along its circumference with a substantially rectangular in plan view, bead-shaped edge 47 having a circumferential groove 48 on its inside.

Der Neigungswinkel a der Führungszapfen 51 gegenüber der Horizontalen B entspricht dem Neigungswinkel a der Gleitflächen 27 gegenüber der Horizontalen B.The rear support-guide unit 45 has roller-shaped rollers 49 which are rotatably mounted in corresponding bearing recesses 50 on the underside of the seat plate part 44. There are two rollers 49 arranged one behind the other, which are each supported on a sliding surface 27 of the two arms 24 and improve the sliding of the seat plate 6 on the sliding surfaces 27. Between the arms 24 are arranged adjacent to these, parallel to this extending guide pin 51 is secured to the cross member 22. The cross member 22 has for this purpose bores 52, through which a tapered portion 53 is guided, which is welded to the cross member 22. On the underside of the rear seat plate part 44 two bearing blocks 54 are fixed, which are guided on the guide pin 51 slidably. The guide pins 51 have at their ends a radially projecting, screwed into this screw 55 to slipping of the bearing block 54 of the guide pin 51 to prevent. Between the bearing block 54 and arranged in the region of the cross member 22, the guide pin 51 surrounding stop 56, a spring element in the form of two coil springs 57 is provided, between which a sleeve 58 is arranged. The sleeve 58 prevents that upon compression of the coil springs 57, a part of the coil spring on the guide pin 51 scrapes and causes corresponding noise and scratched it. A plurality of small spiral springs 57 arranged in succession, guided by a sleeve 58, are preferable to a single larger spiral spring, although, of course, a single spiral spring can also be used on the guide pin 51. The angle of inclination a of the guide pins 51 relative to the horizontal B corresponds to the angle of inclination a of the sliding surfaces 27 relative to the horizontal B.

In the following, the operation of the chair 1 will be described when the position of the backrest is locked. If a person sits on the seat 7 and thus on the seat plate 6, a force is exerted on the rear seat plate part 44 from above. Accordingly, the part 44 is moved on the inclined plane formed by the sliding surfaces 27 in Figure 4 left down, at the same time by the bearing block 54, the coil springs 57 are compressed on the guide pin 51 and a counterforce is generated. By the displacement of the rear seat plate part 44, the front seat plate part 43 is displaced along the direction 18 on the support guide unit 32. The displacement of the height of the joint 46 is compensated by a pivoting of the bearing sleeve 36 about the axis 34, so that there is no jamming in the slot guide. The displacement of the seat plate 6 is completed when the force exerted by the coil springs 57 counter force of gravity the user's force component along the sliding surface 27 including the frictional forces acting in the system. The displaceability of the seat correspond to the weight and the center of gravity of the user has many advantages. In a larger and thus usually heavier person, the seat plate 6 is pushed further forward, so that the thighs of the user are better supported. In addition, there is an automatic adjustment of the parts 43 and 44 of the seat plate 6 with respect to the center of gravity of the user, so that it is supported mainly by the sloping rear seat plate member 44 automatically in an upright seating position. If the backrest 9 is not locked and the user pivots this and thus changes the angle of inclination a of the sliding surface 27, a new adjustment of the optimum seat plate position automatically takes place by the displaceable seat plate 6.
