  • a user inserts springs 17 into the apertures 16 formed in the fixed part 12 of the wedge 11, which is normally housed in the device 1.
  • the end of the removable part 14 of the wedge 11 carrying the rib and groove formation 13 is inserted manually into the slot 45 on the top surface 44 of the fixed part 12 of the wedge 11 by an operator.
  • the removable part 14 of the wedge 11 is then tapped with a hammer or some similar tool into the device 1 in order to move the rings 8 and cylinders 2, 4 away from one another, thereby releasably engaging an implement to the device 1.
  • the operator stops tapping the removable part 14 as the wedge 11 is securely in place.
  • an operator taps the removable part 64 of the wedge 61 with a hammer or some similar tool into the device 1 in order to move the rings 8 and cylinders 2, 4 away from one another. Once the holes 66 of both parts 62, 64 have aligned the operator can insert the locking pin 67 through the aligned holes 66, thereby securely locking the wedge 61.
