Description

Regelungsverfahren für Gasbrenner Control procedures for gas burners
The invention relates to a control method for gas burners according to the preamble of claim 1.
Control methods for gas burners serve to provide a gas / air mixture, that is to say to supply a gas stream and a ner combustion air stream to a burner.
In order to ensure optimal and complete combustion of the fuel, namely the gas, within the gas burner, the gas burner must be supplied with an appropriately coordinated gas / air mixture. The ratio between the gas flow and the ner combustion air flow or the gas pressure and the ner combustion air pressure is referred to as the transmission ratio. However, since the quality of the gas provided by the gas supply fluctuates - the quality of gas is defined by a so-called Wobbe index - the gas / air mixture must be varied accordingly depending on the quality of the gas to ensure optimal and complete combustion ,
In order to be able to take into account the quality of the gas provided, control methods are known from the prior art, in which a signal from a sensor is used to adapt the gas / air mixture to different gas qualities. Thus, in the control process according to DE-A-44 33 425, DE 39 37290 AI and DE 195 39 568 Cl, an ionization signal from a measuring electrode protruding into the burner flame of the gas burner is used to adapt the gas / air mixture to different gas qualities. In the known control methods according to DE-A-44 33 425, DE 39 37290 AI and DE 19539 568 Cl, the signal from the sensor is used over the entire working range or operating range of the burner to adapt the gas / air mixture to different gas qualities. These control methods also use the signal from the sensor over the entire operating time of the burner. However, since the signal from an ionization sensor does not provide reliable information about the combustion conditions actually prevailing in the burner at low burner operating loads, a control method for gas burners is proposed in DE 198 24 523 AI, in which the signal from the sensor is only in a region nearby a burner full load operation is used to adjust the transmission ratio depending on the gas quality. As soon as the working state of the burner leaves this area in the vicinity of the burner full load operation, the gas / air mixture is regulated while maintaining the gear ratio last determined. Even in the control method according to DE 198 24 523 AI, however, insofar as the burner is operated in the area in the vicinity of the burner at full load, the signal from the sensor is used over the entire operating time of the burner.
Proceeding from this, the present invention addresses the problem of providing an improved control method for gas burners.
According to the invention, the problem is solved by a control method with the features of patent claim 1.
Preferred developments of the invention result from the subclaims and the description.
The control process for gas burners involves the provision of a gas / air mixture for a burner. For this purpose, a gas stream and a combustion air stream are fed to the burner. The ratio between gas flow and combustion air flow or the relationship between gas pressure and combustion air pressure is called the transmission ratio.
The combustion process in the burner is monitored with the aid of a signal generated by a sensor. The sensor can be, for example, an ionization sensor, another flame monitoring sensor, a gas quality sensor, a noise gas sensor, a combustion gas sensor or the like. Information about the combustion process and thus about the existing gas quality can be obtained from the sensor signal.
According to the invention, the signal from the sensor is used exclusively at selected times to adapt the gas / air mixture to different gas qualities. This ensures that the control is not negatively influenced by the aging processes of the sensor. The signal from the sensor is preferably used only immediately following the installation of the sensor to adapt the gas / air mixture to different gas qualities. This ensures that the gear ratio is only adjusted for new sensors that are not subject to any aging.
It is also conceivable to use the signal of the sensor only immediately after the installation of the sensor, immediately after restarting the gas burner and immediately after a reset to adapt the gas / air mixture to different gas qualities. Restart should be understood to mean that it can be a new start of operation after a power failure. Because the transmission ratio is only adjusted at selected times in this configuration of the control method, negative influences by aging processes of the sensor can be minimized.
It is preferred that the signal from the sensor is then used to adapt the gas / air mixture to different gas qualities if, following the installation of the sensor, following a restart of the gas burner and / or following a reset, stable operating conditions of the Gas burners have been reached. This improves the accuracy and quality of the scheme.
Eine weitere vorteilhafte Ausgestaltung des erfindungsgemäßen Regelungsverfahrens besteht darin, daß das Signal des Sensors im unmittelbaren Anschluß an die Installation desAnother advantageous embodiment of the control method according to the invention is that the signal from the sensor immediately following the installation of the
Sensors, im unmittelbaren Anschluß an einen Neustart des Gasbrenner und/oder im unmittelbaren Anschluß an einen Reset zur Anpassung des Gas/Luft-Gemisches an unterschiedliche Gasqualitäten verwendet wird, daß in Abhängigkeit des hierbei ermitteltenSensor, in the immediate connection to a restart of the gas burner and / or in the immediate connection to a reset for adapting the gas / air mixture to different gas qualities is used, depending on what is determined here
Übersetzungsverhältnisses ein Bereich mit einer Obergrenze und einer Untergrenze für das Übersetzungsverhältnis des Gas/Luft-Gemisches ermittelt wird, und daß dann, wenn das mit Hilfe des Sensorsignals ermittelte Übersetzungsverhältnis diesen Bereich verläßt, dieA ratio with an upper limit and a lower limit for the ratio of the gas / air mixture is determined, and that when the ratio determined with the aid of the sensor signal leaves this range, the
Beim Überschreiten der Obergrenze wird selbstverständlich dieUpper limit or lower limit is used as the ratio of the gas / air mixture. If the upper limit is exceeded, the
Hierdurch lassen sich auch negative Einflüsse auf dieUpper limit and if the lower limit is undershot, the lower limit is used as the transmission ratio. This also allows negative influences on the
Regelung bedingt durch Alterungsprozesse des Sensors minimieren.Minimize control due to aging processes of the sensor.
The control procedure according to the invention is independent of the type of sensor or system used. In conventional systems as described in DE 196 39 487 or also in the case of so-called electronic gas regulators according to WO99 / 63272 and WO99 / 63273. The disclosure content of WO99 / 63272 and WO99 / 63273 is expressly referred to here and is intended to be part of this description.
The adaptation of the gas / air mixture according to the invention to different gas qualities can also be referred to as calibration.
In this context, it should also be noted that the method according to the invention can also be used in modulating gas regulators, in which immediately after the installation of the sensor, immediately after a restart of the gas burner and / or immediately after a reset not only is the gas / air mixture adapted to different gas qualities, but also the input signal for the modulating gas controller is optimized at these times. In this case, the gas burner is always started with an optimized gas / air mixture and an optimized input signal for the modulating gas controller. This has the advantage that a calibration between the input signal and the output signal of such a modulating gas regulator can be omitted.
