Definitions
- the invention relates to a self-adhesive label for subsequent inscription with a labeling field and an at least partially transparent protective laminate which can be fixed on it, the labeling field and the protective laminate being arranged on a common, at least partially transparent support.
- Such labels are about from the DE 197 49 632 C1 or the DE 100 35 336.3 known.
- the US 5,279,690 describes a label with a first transparent protective layer, which is divided into two parts. On a part of the protective layer, an adhesive is applied, which in turn is covered by a cover layer. In this case, the adhesive has a greater binding effect to the protective layer than to the covering layer.
- the second part of the carrier layer is also covered with an adhesive which firmly bonds the carrier layer to an intermediate layer.
- the inscription layer is applied to the second part of the carrier layer by means of another adhesive.
- the protective layer on the first part of the carrier layer is removed and the first part of the carrier layer is folded onto the second part of the carrier layer, whereby the first part of the carrier layer is glued to the inscription layer by means of the adhesive applied thereto.
- the labeling layer with the protective layer adhered thereto is removed from the intermediate layer, with the adhesive remaining on the labeling layer.
- the label consisting of adhesive layer, labeling layer, adhesive layer, protective layer can be glued to the desired object.
- GB 2 232 925 a label is described, which consists of a paper layer and a weatherproof fixing layer, which are glued together.
- the EP 1 065 644 A2 describes a material web, which is particularly helpful in the application of inscribable pieces of film or the like to be painted or otherwise inked objects.
- the material web has a carrier, a foil piece and a cover label.
- the film piece and cover label are attached to this and beyond a fold line provided on the support.
- the overlapping label serves as a paint protection and can be applied to the desired location after the film piece has been inscribed by folding the material web along the fold line on the film piece with a precise fit and without expensive dispensing devices.
- Labels of the type mentioned above are used to label objects in applications that make increased demands on the durability of the label, such as the presence of aggressive media or by the object to be labeled is exposed to additional protection or aftertreatment.
- labeling can be understood as any type of marking of the object, in particular also a digital typeface or a handwritten lettering.
- the known labels have the disadvantage that they must first be applied to an expensive carrier material, which remains after the application of the label and is thrown away as an excess of material, without being available for further use.
- the application of the individual different material webs on the carrier material to drive a lot of effort.
- Each new material web must first be adhesively applied again on the carrier or the previous web, which can also lead to their additional detachment from the carrier web to additional restrictions on the handling, such as an inadvertent destruction of the laminate structure.
- the invention is therefore an object of the invention to improve a label of the type mentioned in terms of the use and the usability of the material used and, consequently, in terms of cost and in terms of safe, failure-free handling.
- a first protective laminate is provided as part of the carrier and is detachably formed therefrom along a perforation line, wherein the labeling field and the first protective laminate are arranged at a distance from the bending line.
- the first protective lateinate is no longer a constituent of the label applied to the carrier material, but rather is formed as part of the preferably single-layer carrier itself, so that after release from the latter only its edge regions remain and the laminate then after application to the inscription field its actual protective function for the same perceives.
- the simultaneous use of the first protective laminate as part of the carrier thus contributes to the unrestricted functionality significantly to the saving of material.
- the proportion of carrier material which remains after the application of the label as a committee reduced, therefore, the aspect of waste prevention is taken into account in the scope described.
- a line generated by a perforation can be arranged as a line along which the protective laminate is released from the rest of the carrier, a cutting or punching line with breakpoints.
- the first protective laminate for permanent or temporary fixation on the labeling field.
- the first protective laminate is removed from the remainder of the carrier material and remains on the labeling field for the purpose of performing its protective function against external influences.
- a merely temporary design of the first protective laminate so that after its replacement, only the labeling field remains.
- the first protective laminate for temporary fixation is provided on a second protective laminate arranged between the latter and the inscription field, the second protective laminate then being in the form of a permanent or temporary protective laminate.
- the first protective laminate formed as part of the carrier remains only temporarily on a composite, which is formed by the labeling field and the second protective laminate to be arranged thereon.
- the first protective laminate is peeled off the aforementioned composite, the stepped adhesion between the two protective laminates or the second protective laminate and the labeling field on the article the labeling field permanently provided with the second protective laminate remains.
- both protective laminates can be provided for merely temporary attachment to the labeling field, for example if a plurality of painting processes are planned in the article to be inscribed.
- the second protective laminate is embedded in adhesive layers on both sides, wherein the adhesive layer provided for application to the labeling field adheres more strongly to the second protective laminate than the other adhesive layer.
- the different adhesion of the adhesive layers can be adjusted by the use of different adhesives, which may for example be multicomponent.
- the stronger adhesion of the adhesive layer provided for application to the inscription field ensures that the second protective laminate fixed on the inscription field is not unintentionally detached again together with other layers.
- a full-surface embedding of the second protective laminate in adhesive layers and a point or line-wise application of adhesives is conceivable.
- the two protective laminates are temporarily connected to one another by means of the adhesive layer arranged between them and adhering more strongly to the first protective laminate.
- the two laminates are arranged one above the other on the same carrier side before application and remain through the adhesive layer in this arrangement even after application to the label field. This ensures that no relative displacement of the two protective laminates occurs due to the process of mounting on the labeling field.
- the adhesive layer arranged between the laminates is removed by virtue of their lower adhesion to the second protective laminate.
- the bond strength of the adhesive layer between the first and second protective laminates is also lower than the bond strength of the adhesive layer between the second protective laminate and labeling field, so that when removing the first protective laminate, the second is not deducted.
- the first protective laminate is provided with an integrally molded grip tongue.
- the gripping tongue which was also part of the carrier as part of the first protective laminate and was removed therefrom along the perforation line, the first protective laminate can be detached from the labeling field fastened to an object with the second protective laminate without great effort and without aids.
- the gripping tongue is thus realized as well as the first protective laminate as a carrier component, so that snagging or fluttering around this part, which could lead to undesirable disturbances of the operation especially in printing units, can be avoided. Due to the one-piece construction, it is also avoided that the first protective laminate could undesirably tear or tear along a connecting line to the grip tongue or that the defined application of the protective laminates to the marking field would be hindered.
- the permanent or temporary protective laminate provided for affixing to the inscription field has a detachable cover in the non-applied state.
- the cover is arranged by means of an adhesive layer on that surface which comes to rest on the labeling field after application of the protective laminate or laminates.
- the cover serves to protect the adhesive layer with which the laminate is to adhere when mounted on the labeling field and can be made without difficulty from very different, suitable for their application materials, such as films or even paper.
- it is preferably formed siliconized.
- a desirable saving of material and reduction of production costs is advantageously taken into account by the fact that upon release of the first protective laminate from the carrier, only carrier material remains in edge regions of the carrier. In particular, no further material is required for supporting the first protective laminate within the carrier. This is used in an altered function with the complete contour of the protective laminate, while only the edge regions of the carrier remain as a scrap.
- the first protective laminate is preferably connected along a perforation line by holding points with the carrier material.
- the laminate is detached from these holding points, which are formed, for example, by perforating, punching or cutting the contour of the protective laminate, and the inner region of the perforation line is separated from the edge regions of the carrier.
- the contouring for the laminate by means of a micro-perforation the first protective laminate is connected to a series of particularly fine microdots along the perforation with the other carrier material and solvable in a very simple and ge Glafonende way of this.
- the carrier of the label according to the invention along a fold line is provided foldable so that two identical, arranged on different sides of the carrier contours are aligned with their edge lines can be brought to overlap.
- a corresponding arrangement of the bending line thus ensures that, for example, the first protective laminate can be made to coincide with the labeling field by simply folding in a manner.
- the contours of the labeling field 4 and the laminate or the 6, 28 different train. are then provided so that the labeling field is only partially covered or overhanging.
- other arrangements of the bending line are conceivable, so that partial or complete overlaps of portions arranged on different sides of the carrier are conceivable, as desired, in different folds.
- the symmetrical arrangement of the labeling field and the first protective laminate or the two protective laminates with respect to this crease line makes the folding along the crease line, especially in the event that the protective laminate is to completely cover the labeling field, makes it particularly easy to handle and fast to carry out , It will also be readily apparent that such an arrangement eliminates the need for further alignment aids of the laminate to cover the label area.
- the easier handling is an advantageous development of the label according to the invention, in which the carrier has a siliconized surface on the side on which the labeling field is arranged. Due to the siliconization of this surface, the labeling field is particularly easy and gently removable from its support side and can then be applied to the desired object.
- the surface can also be provided with other types of release agents that simplify the detachability of the label field.
- the Fig. 1 and 2 can be seen a label 2, which is arranged according to the invention for subsequent inscription with a labeling field 4 and the fixable thereto, at least partially transparent protective laminate 6 together on an at least partially transparent support 8 together.
- the carrier 8 is web-shaped with its sides 8a and 8b and provided for buckling along a crease line 38 in the direction of the viewer facing side. While the labeling field 4 in the form of the film 24 can be seen on the side 8a of the carrier 8, the protective laminates 6, 28 of the exemplary embodiment arranged on the side 8b of the carrier are shown in FIG FIG. 1 not visible because they are covered by the cover 34 arranged on them. Furthermore, the siliconization 20 applied to the surface of the side 8a is indicated by a hatching of this side.
- first protective laminate 6 is embedded in the interior 10 of a perforation 12 in the carrier 8 as part of the same. Together with the necessary adhesive layers 30, 32, the second protective laminate 28 on the first protective laminate 6, in Fig. 1 covered by the cover 34, arranged.
- the first protective laminate 6 is formed by the holding points 36 generated in a microperforation process, which are located in Fig.1 are indicated in a region of the perforation line 12, held on the rest of the support material of the side 8b.
- Fig. 1 and 2 can be in the Fig. 1 and 2 recognize the formation of a grip tongue 40 in the edge region of the first protective laminate 6, which is arranged there along the perforation line 12a. Their direct visibility is in Fig. 1 again by a viewer facing, the grip of the contour forth corresponding piece of the cover 34a prevented. Since the contouring of the laminates, adhesive layers and the cover takes place only after superimposing and the corresponding fixation of all initially present web-like materials, only one step is required for this process. However, this can also be subdivided into several steps, for example if special requirements for contouring occur. Subsequently, the material of the layers which is not required can also be removed jointly from the carrier 8 in the process of so-called de-latticing, so that no material overhangs the edge regions 16 of the carrier 8 on the side 8b.
- further perforation lines 14 are provided on the carrier 8 in the longitudinal and / or transverse direction for separating one or more labels 2 from the continuous carrier 8.
- the labels which can be assembled into rolls in such a manner are, of course, not limited to one web, and the rolls can also have labels 2 arranged several adjacent to one another in their transverse direction, as a result of which a larger amount of post-inscription could be processed simultaneously.
- Fig. 2 shown section along the line II-II is first further to see that the carrier 8 on its the in Fig. 1 the user facing surface on the side provided with the label 4 page 8a over the entire surface of a silicone layer 20 has.
- This is a preferred type of release layer which is intended to facilitate the release of individual layers used from one another, but is to be understood only as one of several conceivable ways of ensuring this functionality.
- a film 24 is applied, which may be made of polyester, PVC, acetate or other suitable material or composite materials of various materials.
- the film is also dyed, provided with metallizing or other optical effects conceivable and forms the illustrated in the figures on page 8a of the carrier 8 labeling field 4. Due to the nature of the arrangement of the labeling field on the substrate this, as shown, in easily accessible to any kind of manual or machine marking method.
- the first protective laminate 6 As part of the carrier 8.
- the second protective laminate 28 again an adhesive layer 32 on which the cover 34, 34a made of a film or a paper is arranged.
- Fig. 3 a further embodiment of the label according to the invention is shown.
- the side 8b of the carrier 8 has only a first protective laminate 6, which is again part of the carrier 8. Consequently, immediately after the adhesive layer 30, the cover 34 is disposed on the protective laminate 6. Since, in this embodiment, the first protective laminate 6 is provided on the labeling field after application of the label for permanent retention, no grip tongue 40 is provided on this first protective laminate 6, as a result of which the corresponding portions associated with the other layers are also absent.
- the embodiment in Fig. 3 is to this extent as a simplified version of the embodiment Fig. 2 to watch.
- the two sides 8a, 8b of the carrier 8 as shown Fig. 5 can be seen folded along the crease line 38 in the arrow direction, that the adhesive layer 32 comes to rest on the labeling field 4 in the desired manner, itself with the material from which it is formed, connects and remains on this.
- the previous symmetrical arrangement of the overlapping parts of the label 2 on the carrier 8 greatly simplifies this process, since no additional aids for alignment of these parts have to be provided.
- the edge portions 16 of the side 8b of the carrier 8 of the first protective laminate 6 in the arrow direction can be solved and removed.
- the resulting on the side 8a of the carrier 8 composite adhesive layers 22, 30, 32, labeling field 4 and protective laminates 6, 28, can, as in Fig. 7 to see, just stand out from this page 8a.
- the side 8a with the silicon layer 20 arranged thereon can be pulled off in the direction of the arrow from this composite.
- the film 24 is arranged in the form of the labeling field 4, in the direction of the article surface follow from there the adhesive layer 32, the second protective laminate 28, the adhesive layer 30 and the first protective laminate 6 in the arrow direction
- the first protective laminate 6 with the adhesive layer 30 adhering thereto can now be removed from the remainder of the adhesive layer 22, inscription field 4, adhesive layer 32 and second protective laminate 28 remaining on the object surface by gripping the grip tongue 40. This leaves the protected label 2 on the object.
- This detachment of the first protective laminate preferably takes place after a painting process in order to make visible again the marking field 4 protected by the second protective laminate.
- the in the Fig. 6 to 8 shown Abletteund Attachment process can also be performed in a different order.
- the side 8a of the carrier 8 is released from this composite, thereby exposing the adhesive layer 22 intended for adhesion to the article intended for this purpose. Only after attachment to the article, the composite is then de-meshed from the side 8b of the carrier 8.
- the side 8a of the carrier 8 By skillfully grasping the label, in this mounting variant, the side 8a of the carrier 8, if it is not completely detached from the rest of the composite, be used as a positioning aid for the label.

Labels of the type mentioned above are used to label objects in applications that make increased demands on the durability of the label, such as the presence of aggressive media or by the object to be labeled is exposed to additional protection or aftertreatment. In this context, labeling can be understood as any type of marking of the object, in particular also a digital typeface or a handwritten lettering.
In the meantime, such labels are prefabricated as roll goods available, so that a machine Nachbeschriftung in printing machines, for example in thermal transfer printers, is unproblematic, with even short-term changes of labeling orders do not lead to significant waste production of the ready-made material.
The pertinent objects are satisfactorily solved by previously known labels in such a way that the label is configured double-leafed and both the labeling field, and the protective laminate are arranged side by side in a plane and the protective laminate by means of folding with the label field brought to cover on this adhesive by adhesive can be attached to an object.
However, the known labels have the disadvantage that they must first be applied to an expensive carrier material, which remains after the application of the label and is thrown away as an excess of material, without being available for further use. In addition, in the application of the individual different material webs on the carrier material to drive a lot of effort. Each new material web must first be adhesively applied again on the carrier or the previous web, which can also lead to their additional detachment from the carrier web to additional restrictions on the handling, such as an inadvertent destruction of the laminate structure.
The invention is therefore an object of the invention to improve a label of the type mentioned in terms of the use and the usability of the material used and, consequently, in terms of cost and in terms of safe, failure-free handling.
The object is achieved in that a first protective laminate is provided as part of the carrier and is detachably formed therefrom along a perforation line, wherein the labeling field and the first protective laminate are arranged at a distance from the bending line.
According to the invention, therefore, the first protective lateinate is no longer a constituent of the label applied to the carrier material, but rather is formed as part of the preferably single-layer carrier itself, so that after release from the latter only its edge regions remain and the laminate then after application to the inscription field its actual protective function for the same perceives. The simultaneous use of the first protective laminate as part of the carrier thus contributes to the unrestricted functionality significantly to the saving of material. To the same extent, moreover, the proportion of carrier material which remains after the application of the label as a committee, reduced, therefore, the aspect of waste prevention is taken into account in the scope described.
Instead of a line generated by a perforation can be arranged as a line along which the protective laminate is released from the rest of the carrier, a cutting or punching line with breakpoints.
It is initially advantageous to provide the first protective laminate for permanent or temporary fixation on the labeling field. After application to the labeling field, the first protective laminate is removed from the remainder of the carrier material and remains on the labeling field for the purpose of performing its protective function against external influences. Also conceivable here is a merely temporary design of the first protective laminate, so that after its replacement, only the labeling field remains.
In an advantageous development of the label according to the invention, the first protective laminate for temporary fixation is provided on a second protective laminate arranged between the latter and the inscription field, the second protective laminate then being in the form of a permanent or temporary protective laminate. In this case, the first protective laminate formed as part of the carrier remains only temporarily on a composite, which is formed by the labeling field and the second protective laminate to be arranged thereon. After an intended aftertreatment of the article on which the label was to be applied, such as subsequent painting, the first protective laminate is peeled off the aforementioned composite, the stepped adhesion between the two protective laminates or the second protective laminate and the labeling field on the article the labeling field permanently provided with the second protective laminate remains. In a similar manner as in the case of the embodiment with a protective laminate, in this case both protective laminates can be provided for merely temporary attachment to the labeling field, for example if a plurality of painting processes are planned in the article to be inscribed.
It is further advantageous that the second protective laminate is embedded in adhesive layers on both sides, wherein the adhesive layer provided for application to the labeling field adheres more strongly to the second protective laminate than the other adhesive layer. The different adhesion of the adhesive layers can be adjusted by the use of different adhesives, which may for example be multicomponent. The stronger adhesion of the adhesive layer provided for application to the inscription field ensures that the second protective laminate fixed on the inscription field is not unintentionally detached again together with other layers. Instead of a full-surface embedding of the second protective laminate in adhesive layers and a point or line-wise application of adhesives is conceivable.
Furthermore, in one embodiment of the label according to the invention, it is advantageous if the two protective laminates are temporarily connected to one another by means of the adhesive layer arranged between them and adhering more strongly to the first protective laminate. First, the two laminates are arranged one above the other on the same carrier side before application and remain through the adhesive layer in this arrangement even after application to the label field. This ensures that no relative displacement of the two protective laminates occurs due to the process of mounting on the labeling field. When the first protective laminate is removed from the second protective laminate now adhering to the inscription field, the adhesive layer arranged between the laminates is removed by virtue of their lower adhesion to the second protective laminate. The bond strength of the adhesive layer between the first and second protective laminates is also lower than the bond strength of the adhesive layer between the second protective laminate and labeling field, so that when removing the first protective laminate, the second is not deducted.
For this purpose, it is also advantageous that the first protective laminate is provided with an integrally molded grip tongue. By grasping the gripping tongue, which was also part of the carrier as part of the first protective laminate and was removed therefrom along the perforation line, the first protective laminate can be detached from the labeling field fastened to an object with the second protective laminate without great effort and without aids. The gripping tongue is thus realized as well as the first protective laminate as a carrier component, so that snagging or fluttering around this part, which could lead to undesirable disturbances of the operation especially in printing units, can be avoided. Due to the one-piece construction, it is also avoided that the first protective laminate could undesirably tear or tear along a connecting line to the grip tongue or that the defined application of the protective laminates to the marking field would be hindered.
Furthermore, in an advantageous embodiment of the label according to the invention, the permanent or temporary protective laminate provided for affixing to the inscription field has a detachable cover in the non-applied state. Regardless of whether the label is formed with one or two protective laminates, the cover is arranged by means of an adhesive layer on that surface which comes to rest on the labeling field after application of the protective laminate or laminates. The cover serves to protect the adhesive layer with which the laminate is to adhere when mounted on the labeling field and can be made without difficulty from very different, suitable for their application materials, such as films or even paper. To make this cover very easy of the adhesive on the permanent protective laminate adhesive layer can be solved, it is preferably formed siliconized.
A desirable saving of material and reduction of production costs is advantageously taken into account by the fact that upon release of the first protective laminate from the carrier, only carrier material remains in edge regions of the carrier. In particular, no further material is required for supporting the first protective laminate within the carrier. This is used in an altered function with the complete contour of the protective laminate, while only the edge regions of the carrier remain as a scrap.
In this context, the first protective laminate is preferably connected along a perforation line by holding points with the carrier material. By detaching the first protective laminate from the remainder of the carrier composite, the laminate is detached from these holding points, which are formed, for example, by perforating, punching or cutting the contour of the protective laminate, and the inner region of the perforation line is separated from the edge regions of the carrier. If the contouring for the laminate by means of a micro-perforation, the first protective laminate is connected to a series of particularly fine microdots along the perforation with the other carrier material and solvable in a very simple and gefüschafonende way of this.
Furthermore, the carrier of the label according to the invention along a fold line is provided foldable so that two identical, arranged on different sides of the carrier contours are aligned with their edge lines can be brought to overlap. A corresponding arrangement of the bending line thus ensures that, for example, the first protective laminate can be made to coincide with the labeling field by simply folding in a manner. Furthermore, it can also be useful in the label, the contours of the labeling field 4 and the laminate or the 6, 28 different train. These are then provided so that the labeling field is only partially covered or overhanging. In addition, other arrangements of the bending line are conceivable, so that partial or complete overlaps of portions arranged on different sides of the carrier are conceivable, as desired, in different folds.
Particularly preferred is the symmetrical arrangement of the labeling field and the first protective laminate or the two protective laminates with respect to this crease line, as this makes the folding along the crease line, especially in the event that the protective laminate is to completely cover the labeling field, makes it particularly easy to handle and fast to carry out , It will also be readily apparent that such an arrangement eliminates the need for further alignment aids of the laminate to cover the label area.
Also, the easier handling is an advantageous development of the label according to the invention, in which the carrier has a siliconized surface on the side on which the labeling field is arranged. Due to the siliconization of this surface, the labeling field is particularly easy and gently removable from its support side and can then be applied to the desired object. However, the surface can also be provided with other types of release agents that simplify the detachability of the label field.
The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to two embodiments shown in the drawings.
