Abstract

The label (3) is cut out by application of a weakening line (4) which delimits the label in a sheet or leaf (1). A liquid or pasty glue is then applied and the coating of glue is covered with a paper (6) having detaching characteristics. The process is particularly appropriate for producing endless webs, printed or not, comprising one or a plurality of labels.

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing sheets or sheets with a removable self-adhesive label according to the preamble of claim 1.

Sheets, for example printed forms, with removable self-adhesive labels are known. They are obtained by attaching labels separated from multilayer, usually in roll form, strips to the forms. These multilayer webs have a first adhesive layer on the label, which is separated by a first silicone paper from the subsequent second adhesive layer, which is followed by a second silicone paper. When the individual labels, separated from the endless roll, are applied to a form, the second silicone paper is removed and the label is attached to the form with the second adhesive layer. The label attached to the form. now consists of four layers: label, adhesive layer, silicone paper and adhesive layer and causes a local thickening of the single form, which leads to difficulties when stacking the forms or manipulating the stack. When labeling the self-adhesive label, the heat and / or pressure, as z. B. occurs in laser printing, to soften the two layers of adhesive and to exit the adhesive application, which extends at least to the cut edges up to this edge, beyond the label onto the form. The now sticky forms stick together, are unsightly and are difficult to manipulate. Apart from the described difficulties in manipulating the forms provided with this known self-adhesive label, the production of the five-layer endless roll of labels is also cumbersome and costly. In particular, the provision of the silicone paper, which has separation properties, with the adhesive layer is cumbersome and complex.

In order to avoid the local thickening of the forms caused by the multilayer self-adhesive label and the associated difficulties in manipulation, forms with integrated self-adhesive labels that can be removed along a perforation were produced. Since the label is already included in the form here, i.e. forms part of the form, it no longer contributes to local thickening; at the same time, one layer of adhesive and one less silicone paper are required. The label is in this known form by means of a release paper carrying an adhesive layer, i. H. a transfer adhesive, which is pulled off a roll and cut to the size of the label, with an adhesive over the entire surface. Here too, however, at least at the edges corresponding to the cut edge, the emergence of the adhesive under the influence of heat and / or pressure is observed when the label is labeled, which leads to the undesirable stickiness of the remaining form already described above and the corresponding disadvantages. In addition, when positioning the transfer adhesive, very precise work is required to ensure an accurate adhesive application.

Furthermore, due to the release properties, adhesive in the rolled-up transfer adhesive can be taken over from the adhesive-free surface, the undesirable stickiness of which results in the overlapping of forms.

From GB-A-2 045 718 a method for producing sheets or sheets with a removable self-adhesive label is known. In this method, label parts are fixed in a sheet which is coated on the entire back with an adhesive by applying lines of weakness. The entire sheet is then placed on a carrier which serves as a cover for the adhesive application on the back of the sheet and which is provided with punched-out areas which are also parts of complete labels. The areas of the sheet surrounding the label parts are then removed. When the label parts are peeled away from the carrier, the punched-out areas of the carrier remain connected to the label part and separate from the carrier. A finished label consists of the label part and the area stuck to it and removed from the carrier.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a simple and economical process for the production of sheets or sheets with removable self-adhesive labels of the type mentioned at the outset, which makes it possible to apply adhesive correctly, which does not occur under the action of heat and / or pressure, in particular when labeling the label undesirably extends beyond the predetermined adhesive area onto the surrounding area.

This object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

By applying the adhesive directly to the paper of the label and, if appropriate, to predetermined areas of the remaining sheet, the adhesive, which is pasty or liquid at this time, is well anchored in the paper.

In addition, the direct application of adhesive enables a differentiated, location-dependent metering of the adhesive, which on the one hand saves adhesive and on the other hand enables the production of self-adhesive labels with adhesive strength tailored to their area.

For example, a decreasing amount of adhesive can be applied to the edges of the label or the edges of the label can be kept free of adhesive. Furthermore, the adhesive can be applied according to a certain pattern, for example in a punctiform manner. This dot pattern can be designed in such a way that it results in a coherent adhesive layer under the action of heat and / or pressure. Individual or all corners of the label can be used easier removal of the release paper can be kept completely adhesive-free.

The application of adhesive is not only limited to the label, but can also be extended to the subsequent areas of the form as required. Of course, the adhesive application can correspond exactly to the label area and be limited by the weakening or dividing lines.

In contrast to the prior art, the paper or the film with separating properties here has no protective function, but only a protective function. Accordingly, his / her quality, size and shape can only be matched to this protective function. Thus, it can protrude on one side or on all sides over the surface of the label provided with adhesive and possibly the sheet or over the label itself.

The method according to the invention is particularly suitable for the production of forms, printed sheets or sheets, preferably of continuous forms, with removable self-adhesive labels.

The process according to the invention can be carried out using known devices and using known adhesives based on water or solvents or hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives.

  • Fig. 1 die Draufsicht auf die Rückseite eines Abschnittes eines erfindungsgemäss hergestellten Endlosformulars mit heraustrennbarer Selbstklebeetikette;
The invention will now be illustrated in more detail with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. It shows purely schematically
  • Figure 1 is a plan view of the back of a portion of a continuous form produced according to the invention with removable self-adhesive label.
  • FIG. 2 shows a section along the line 11-11 in FIG. 1; and
  • 3 shows the top view of the back of an endless form during individual steps of the method according to the invention.

The continuous form 1 in FIGS. 1 and 2 has an edge perforation 2 on both sides and a stamped label 3, which is fully integrated into the sheet of the continuous form 1, but due to the stamped weakening line 4 which delimits it. B. can be generated by perforating, can be easily separated from the sheet. The label 3 and, beyond the weakening line 4, the areas of the continuous form 1 which surround it are provided with a coherent adhesive application 5. The latter is protected by a siliconized release paper 6, the edges 7 of which protrude beyond the adhesive application 5 in such a way that the release paper 6 can be easily grasped and removed from all sides. These edges 7 also allow a greater tolerance when positioning the release paper.

According to the embodiment of the method according to the invention shown in FIG. 3, the label 3 is punched into a continuous form which is already provided with perforations 2 on both sides and preferably printed, by attaching the perforation 4, after which the adhesive is applied in liquid or pasty form to the label 3 and onto the label adjacent areas 7 of the continuous form are applied and the adhesive application 5 is then covered with the release paper 6, the edges 7 of which protrude beyond the adhesive application 5.

The individual steps of the method according to the invention, i. H. Punching, adhesive application, release paper application can be carried out with known devices, which can be arranged in already existing production plants.

The individual manufacturing steps mentioned above can also be carried out in a different order than that explained with reference to FIG. 3. In particular, it is also possible first to apply the adhesive to the material web 1 in the areas of the label 3 in the manner described and then to cover this adhesive application 5 with the release paper 6. Then, d. H. as the last step, the label 3 is punched, i.e. H. the perforation 4.

The release paper 6 can also be a carbonless paper on which when applying information such. B. the address to which label 3 is transferred directly. In such an embodiment, the release paper 6 thus becomes a data carrier.

According to the invention, individual forms or unprinted single or continuous sheets or sheets can also be provided with one or more integrated and removable self-adhesive labels. The method according to the invention is economical and provides a tailor-made product which is easy to handle.
