Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for the cosmetic treatment of the hair and the scalp against dandruff, in which a shampoo with a low content of anti-dandruff active ingredient and an anti-dandruff lotion with a high content of anti-dandruff active ingredient are used in a defined regime.
- the invention relates to a process for the cosmetic treatment of the hair and the scalp against dandruff, in which the hair is washed at least twice a week with a shampoo (A) and after the 1st to 3rd shampooing, and thereafter not more often than once in 2 weeks, treated with an anti-dandruff lotion (B) which is not rinsed off, the shampoo (A) being an aqueous composition containing skin-friendly surfactants and not more than 0.1% by weight of an 1-hydroxy -2-pyridone derivative, and the anti-dandruff lotion (B) is an aqueous-alcoholic preparation containing at least 0.1% by weight of a 1-hydroxy-2-pyridone derivative.
- Octopirox ® also known as Piroctone Olamine
- other, similarly acting l-hydroxy-2-pyridone derivatives can also be present.
- the process according to the invention has the advantage that the shampoo used daily contains only a very low concentration of 1-hydroxy-2-pyridone derivative and in this way does not lead to the feared disadvantages of regreasing and yogurt. the scalp, but can delay the return of dandruff for a long time.
- the 1 to 3 times treatment with a more concentrated preparation of the l-hydroxy-2-pyridone derivative is sufficient to significantly reduce dandruff formation in a short time, but also does not yet lead to the undesirable effects of long-term treatment.
- Repeat treatment with the anti-dandruff lotion (B) is only necessary if necessary, but never more often than once in 2 weeks.
- the shampoo (A) is intended for permanent use and can be used up to once a day if necessary. It is therefore necessary for the shampoo to contain a skin-friendly surfactant or a surfactant mixture that does not excessively degrease the hair even with daily use.
- the good-foaming anionic sulfate and sulfonate surfactants should be mentioned, e.g. B. the sulfuric acid semiester salts of Cio - C ⁇ 8 fatty alcohols and C ⁇ o- C ⁇ 8 - fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers with 2-10 glycol ether groups, for. B.
- the acyl isethionate salts the acyl taurides, the fatty acid monoglyceride sulfates, the alkane sulfonates, the alpha-olefin sulfonates, the sulfosuccinic acid half ester salts of fatty alcohols and fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers.
- ether and amide soaps e.g. B. the fatty alcohol polyglycol ether carboxylates, the acylamino acid salts, for. B.
- the hair washing is carried out daily over a period of at least three weeks with a shampoo (A) which contains 1-15% by weight of an alkyl ether sulfate surfactant and 0.01-0.1% by weight of one Contains l-hydroxy-2-pyridone derivative.
- A a shampoo which contains 1-15% by weight of an alkyl ether sulfate surfactant and 0.01-0.1% by weight of one Contains l-hydroxy-2-pyridone derivative.
- the alkyl ether sulfate surfactants mentioned have a particularly good tolerance to the mucous membrane in particular when they are present as magnesium salts or when a corresponding amount of magnesium in the form of a dissolved salt, eg. B. MgCl 2 or MgSO is included. Another way to improve the compatibility of these anionic surfactants with mucous membranes is to combine them with zwitterionic surfactants.
- the shampoo (A) contains 0.1-2% by weight of magnesium in the form of a dissolved salt and 0.5-5% by weight of a zwitterionic surfactant.
- Suitable zwitterionic surfactants are e.g. B. the alkyl betaines, e.g. B. lauryl-dimethyl-carboxymethyl-acetobetaine or the acylamidopropyl betaines, e.g. B. cocoacylamido propyl dimethyl acetobetaine.
- Other suitable zwitterionic surfactants are the inidazoline betaines or the sulfobetaines with a Cio-Cj 8 alkyl or acyl group.
- the shampoo (A) may also contain other components which are customary in hair shampoos and are useful for the care of the hair and the scalp.
- Such further optional components of the shampoo are e.g. B.
- Non-ionic surface-active substances which, for. B. for thickening or emulsification of fragrances are required.
- the anti-dandruff lotion (B) is an aqueous-alcoholic preparation that is used like a hair tonic, i.e. remains on the hair after use.
- the carrier liquid consists of water and lower, mono- or polyhydric alcohols with 2-6 C atoms in a weight ratio of water to alcohol of 1:10 to 10: 1. Monohydric alcohols with 2-4 C atoms, in particular ethanol and or isopropanol, are preferably used as alcohols.
- the anti-dandruff lotion (B) contains 10-50% by weight of ethanol and 0.1-1.0% by weight of piroctone olamine.
- the anti-dandruff lotion (B) can contain other components that are useful for the care of the hair and scalp. Such components are e.g. B.
- UV absorbers UV absorbers
- Plant extracts e.g. B. hop extracts, birch water, avocado extract, camomile extract
- - antistatic agents e.g. B. cetyl-trimethylammonium chloride and other quaternary ammonium salts
- Structurants such as B. sugar or gluconic acid
- plant extracts which have an anti-inflammatory, healing and anti-allergic effect and which are derived from the formation tissue (meristem) of deciduous trees or shrubs, e.g. B. extracted from the crown of the shoot or the cambium.
- tissue extracts e.g. B. from young shoots of beech or birch or from Meristem cell cultures, both the anti-dandruff lotion (B) and the shampoo (A) can be added.
- the shampoo (A) or the anti-dandruff lotion (B) or both contains an extract from the meristem of deciduous plants in an amount of 0.001-0.01% by weight (dry matter). This component eliminates problems such as scalp itching, scalp irritation and allergic intolerance. ten even with long-term dandruff control avoided by the inventive method.
- the anti-dandruff lotion (B) is used in the customary manner by distributing a few ml of the product on the hair and by means of a light massage ensuring that the scalp is also wetted by the product.
- the amount of lotion required also depends on how long and how long the user has hair. In the case of short and thinning hair, 1 ml of the product may therefore be sufficient to wet the scalp adequately, however, in the case of full and long hair, a multiple of this amount is required, since a larger amount of the lotion is adsorbed on the large surface of the hair.
- the shampoo and the anti-dandruff lotion are used according to the regime according to the invention and their effects are thus complementary.
- this can best be achieved by having both products by the user in a single sales unit, e.g. B. in a common box, can be purchased, which then also contains the corresponding instructions for use.
- Another object of the invention is therefore a dandruff treatment composition consisting of two separately packaged components combined into a sales unit, of which one component (A) is a shampoo in the form of an aqueous composition containing skin-friendly surfactants and not more than 0.1 % By weight of an l-hydroxy-2-pyridone derivative and the second component (B) is an anti-dandruff lotion in the form of an aqueous-alcoholic preparation containing at least 0.2% by weight of an l-hydroxy- 2-pyridone derivative.
- one component (A) is a shampoo in the form of an aqueous composition containing skin-friendly surfactants and not more than 0.1 %
- the second component (B) is an anti-dandruff lotion in the form of an aqueous-alcoholic preparation containing at least 0.2% by weight of an l-hydroxy- 2-pyridone derivative.
- Dehyton ® GN (2-hydroxyethyl) -N-cocoalkylamidoethyl carboxymethyl glycinate, Na salt, 30% in water
- Meristem extract Extract from the meristem (growth and cell division tissue) of hardwoods, 1% by weight in water (contains quinone derivatives).
- test group consisting of 28 subjects with clearly visible head dandruff was treated as follows:
- the dandruff reduction continued until the end of the test (3 weeks) without re-treatment with anti-dandruff lotion. In 4 subjects, the dandruff reduction continued for 1 week. In 1 subject, the dandruff reduction only lasted 4 days.
