Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser comprising a container defining a fluid reservoir and a opening.
  • a distribution member such as a pump or a valve is mounted into the container opening and includes an actuating rod.
  • a pusher is mounted on the actuating rod of the dispensing member so that pressing the push button the dispensing member is actuated and a dose of fluid product is dispensed.
  • the assembly consisting of the container, the distribution and the pusher is received in a covering shell which can be present in the form of an aesthetic case.
  • the set thus defined constitutes a kind of renewable refill while the aesthetic cover shell is kept to receive new sets.
  • This type of distributor is especially used in the field of perfumery or cosmetics in which the aesthetic aspect of the dispenser is paramount.
  • Shell dressing can then have complex shapes and use materials precious or expensive so that the cost price of the covering shell represents a considerable part of the total price of the distributor. So he is advantageous to be able to keep the covering shell and to replace only the assembly consisting of the container, the dispensing member and the pusher. In effect, since the dispensing member and the pusher are completely hidden by the covering shell, they do not need to present an aesthetic appeal particular. Their cost price can therefore be considerably reduced.
  • a dispenser comprising a covering shell consisting of a case and a cap inside which is housed a refill in the form of a non-removable assembly consisting of a container, a dispensing member and a dispensing head or pusher.
  • This set is housed in an envelope that cannot be opened.
  • This envelope includes at its bottom an opening intended for the passage a lug formed at the bottom of the covering shell. So once the envelope inserted in the cover of the covering shell, pressing the button has the effect to penetrate this lug through the opening so as to move the tank in the direction of the pusher, which causes the distribution of fluid.
  • the pusher is attached to or imprisoned by the assembly also consisting of the container and the distribution body.
  • the pusher is an integral part of the refill.
  • the object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback of the art previous by defining a fluid dispenser whose refill (set) cannot be used without the covering shell.
  • the present invention proposes that the distributor is provided with a covering shell in which an assembly formed by the container and its dispensing member is adapted to be held so removable, and that the pusher is trapped in the covering shell, so that said actuating rod can only be connected to the pusher in the shell dressing.
  • the assembly or refill does not integrate the pusher as it is the case in the prior art. Since the pusher is an essential element for the functioning of the dispenser, it is not possible to use the refill or together without the pusher. Therefore, by making the pusher integral with the covering shell, the user is obliged to associate the refill with the shell of dressing to obtain a usable dispenser.
  • the covering shell defines at a so-called upper end a passage in which the pusher is held captive while being able to move axially.
  • the pusher is thus guided axially and translatively so as to define a limited stroke at these two ends.
  • the pusher can thus only move so sufficient to activate the dispensing member without releasing it from its socket with the covering shell.
  • the covering shell defines a so-called open lower end through which the assembly can be introduced into the shell, an attached removable bottom advantageously closing said end opened.
  • the shell comprises a barrel surrounding the container and a hoop mounted on the barrel and defining with the barrel a space in which the pusher is free to move axially while remaining trapped.
  • the hoop is permanently connected to the barrel, so that the pusher does not can be removed from the covering shell.
  • the dispensing member comprises a body open at its upper end, the actuating rod being located at said open end without making protruding from the body in the rest position.
  • the pusher includes a connecting sleeve capable of fitting on the rod actuation by entering the body of the dispensing member. So, he it is practically impossible to adapt a pusher other than the pusher of the distributor on the actuating rod of the distribution member. Indeed, in a conventional distributor, the actuating rod of the distribution member makes widely protruding beyond the open end of the body.
  • the pusher presents then a short connection sleeve which cannot in any case penetrate inside the body of the dispensing member.
  • a short connection sleeve which cannot in any case penetrate inside the body of the dispensing member.
  • the actuating rod does not protrude from the body of the distribution constitutes a security element by making the sinking of the rod very difficult to operate since it is protected by the body of the distribution. Unintentional actuation of the dispensing member is thus perfectly avoided.
  • Figure 1 is a vertical cross-sectional view through a fluid dispenser according to the invention and Figure 2 is an enlarged view of the upper part of the dispenser of figure 1.
  • the fluid dispenser according to the invention comprises essentially four constituent elements, namely a container 1, a distribution 2, a pusher 5 and a covering shell 6.
  • the distributor also includes a crimp ring 3 and a neck gasket 4, but these elements can be considered secondary.
  • the distributor can also optionally include a cover 7 mounted on the hull dressing 6.
  • the container 1 can be a conventional container for example in the form of a bottle defining a reservoir 10 intended to contain fluid product, by example a perfume.
  • the container 1 comprises a barrel 11 which can be cylindrical but also domed. Barrel 11 ends at its lower end with a bottom 12 and includes at its upper end a shoulder 13 which ends by a neck 14 defining an opening 15. This is a completely conventional for a fluid dispenser container.
  • the dispensing member 2 can be a pump or a valve.
  • it is a pump comprising a body 20 at the lower end of which is formed a sleeve connection 22 for a dip tube 23 which extends inside the tank 10.
  • the body 20 also includes an open upper end 21 which is in engagement crimped with a crimping ring 3 which is also crimped on the neck 14 of container 1.
  • the pump 2 is fixed in the opening 15 of the container 1.
  • the pump 2 comprises a piston 24 which slides in sealed manner inside the body 20 to vary the volume of the pump chamber.
  • the piston 24 is mounted on an actuating rod 25.
  • the piston 24 is biased in rest position by a return spring: the piston 24 then defines the volume maximum for the pump chamber.
  • the upper end of the actuating rod 25 does not protrude outside the pump body 20.
  • the actuating rod 25 is completely located inside the pump body. This is clearly visible in Figure 2 which shows the upper part of the pump so enlarged with the actuating rod 25 in the extended rest position.
  • the pusher 5 is formed with a connection sleeve 53 long enough to be able penetrate inside the pump body 20 and connect tightly on the free upper end of the actuating rod 25.
  • the sleeve connection 53 must also be long enough to allow the depression of the actuating rod 25 inside the pump body 20. During this depression, the connection sleeve 53 penetrates relatively deep inside the pump body 20. This is a advantageous characteristic which can be implemented independently on any distribution organ. With such a rod configuration of actuation, any untimely or involuntary actuation of the dispensing member since its actuating rod 25 is protected from inside the pump body.
  • this particular distributor only accepts the adaptation of an appropriate pusher with a sleeve special connection capable of penetrating inside the body 20 of the distribution 2.
  • the pusher comprises conventionally a bearing surface 51 on which the user presses to activate the dispenser.
  • the pusher 5 also includes an orifice for distribution 52 which can be in the form of a nozzle allowing to obtain a spray of sprayed product.
  • the pusher 5 also defines a skirt substantially cylindrical 54 which extends downward from the bearing surface 51 by surrounding the connection sleeve 53.
  • the skirt 54 ends at its free lower end by a flange 55 which projects radially towards the exterior and which serves as a stop member as will be seen below.
  • the covering shell 6 comprises an envelope or barrel 60 which surrounds the container 1.
  • the barrel 60 forms at its lower end 61 a wide opening which can be closed by a removable attached bottom 62.
  • the container 1 is housed at inside the barrel 60 and the removable bottom 62 can advantageously come in contact of the bottom 12 of the container 1.
  • the container 1 is thus kept inside of the barrel 60 of the covering shell 6.
  • the barrel extends at its upper end by a snap-in fixing sleeve 63 which itself extends by a radial flange 64 which extends inward and defines a central hole through which extends the dispensing member, or more precisely its crimping ring 3. As can be seen in FIG.
  • the crimping ring 3 is supported under the radial flange 64 at the neck 14 of the container 1.
  • the rest of the ring crimping 3 which surrounds the upper end 21 of the pump body 20 extends freely through the hole formed in the center of the radial flange 64.
  • the assembly formed by the container 1, the dispensing member 2 and the crimping ring 3 constitutes a clean entity which is kept inside of the covering shell 6 in a perfectly stable manner between two points support formed by the removable bottom 62 and the radial flange 64.
  • the assembly thus defined can constitute a refill which can be placed inside the covering 6 by the lower end 61 of the barrel 60 after removal of the removable base 62. The refill can be introduced through the wide open end and brought in the final position in which the crimped upper end 21 projects through the central hole of the radial flange 64, as shown in FIG. 1.
  • the recharge formed by the assembly consisting of the container 1 and the dispensing member 2 does not integrate the pusher 5. By Consequently, the refill is completely unusable in the absence of the pusher 5, and all the more so since the actuating rod 25 is particularly short and requires a specially adapted pusher.
  • the covering shell 6 also comprises a hoop 65 which is mounted permanently on the barrel 60 using a final snap ring 66 which cooperates with the sleeve 63 formed at the upper end of the barrel 60.
  • the hoop 65 defines at its upper end a radial plate 67 which projects towards the interior and which defines in its center a passage through which the pusher 5.
  • the passage defined by the plate 67 defines an opening slightly larger than the skirt 54 of the pusher 5. In this way, the pusher 5 can be move axially and translatively inside the passage formed by the plate 67.
  • the flange 55 of the pusher 5 which projects radially towards the outside at the lower end of the skirt 54 however has a diameter greater than the internal diameter of the passage so that the flange 55 comes in stop below the plate 67 when the pusher is moved upwards distance from the dispensing member 2. This is precisely shown in the figure 1. In fact, this is the distributor's rest position. Of this way, the pusher 5 is trapped in the hoop 65 of the covering shell 6.
  • the hoop 65 mounted on the barrel 60 defines with the latter an internal space 68 which communicates with the outside through the hole formed by the radial flange 64 and the passage formed by the radial plate 67. The pusher 5 can move axially in this internal space 68 without being able to disengage from it.
  • the radial flange 55 prevents removal of the pusher from through the passage formed by the plate 67, and the opening formed by the flange radial 64 has a diameter much smaller than the skirt 54 of the pusher 5. Therefore, in the fully depressed position in the hoop 65, the flange 55 abuts on the radial flange 64. The plunger 5 is thus definitively trapped in the covering shell 6 since the hoop 65 is mounted so definitive on the barrel 60. It is therefore not possible to extract the pusher 5 from the covering shell 6. Its only freedom of movement is in the axial direction by translational movement limited on the one hand by the radial flange 64 and on the other hand by the radial plate 67.
  • connection sleeve 53 extends through the hole formed in the center of the radial flange 64.
  • the connection sleeve 53 extends through the hole formed in the center of the radial flange 64.
  • the pusher 5 pressed against the radial flange 64, it is possible to tightly connect the actuating rod 25 to the connection 53. Then simply bring the removable bottom 62 to the end bottom of the barrel 60, and the dispenser is then fully operational.
  • a protective cover 7 can be mounted on the hoop 65 so as to come to rest on the latching sleeve 66.
  • the pusher 5 integral with the covering shell, it is ensured that the refill constituted by the container and the dispensing member cannot be used without the covering shell. In addition, by considerably shortening the actuating rod of the dispensing member, any actuation is avoided involuntary and prevents any adaptation of a conventional pusher.
