Claims (10)

  1. A tension relief device for a cable in an electric plug-in device, having the following features:
    a housing part (1) of the electric plug-in device, through which the cable (2, 3) extends;
    a cage (11) with an annular wall (13) and a number of laminations (14) which are articulated on the annular wall and between which there are gaps (16) in slot form;
    a seal (20) which consists of elastic sealing material and which in the form of a cable bushing opening (21) surrounds the cable (2, 3) and seals off the housing part (1);
    an annular pressure member (12) for abutment against outsides (27) of the laminations (14) in order to press the seal (20) against the cable (2, 3);
    the seal (20) is arranged to seal off the laminations (14) and follow the movement thereof;
    the laminations (14) extend in operation generally obliquely to the axis of the annular wall (13) and in the region of the cable bushing opening (21) have claws (17) which as a result of the action of the pressure member (12) can be pressed against the outsides (27) of the laminations (14) against the outer surface of a cable;

  2. A tension relief device according to claim 1, characterised in that the annular wall (13) of the cage (11) forms an integral portion of the housing part (1) of the electric plug-in device.
  3. A tension relief device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the cage (11) has been made in a first process step and the seal (20) has been injection moulded on the cage (11) in a second process step.
  4. A tension relief device according to claim 3, characterised in that the sealing material consists of an elastomer which can be integrally moulded in the two-component injection process.
  5. A tension relief device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the seal (20) is constructed in the form of a frusto-conical jacket with a thickened edge (29) at the cable bushing opening (21).
  6. A tension relief device according to claim 5, characterised in that the claws (17) of the laminations (14) are constructed as pointed claws which extend radially towards the cable surface so as to be able to penetrate thereinto and are disposed near the thickened edge (29) of the seal (20).
  7. A tension relief device according to any one of claims 4 to 6, characterised in that the thickened edge (29) of the seal (20) constitutes the sole abutment sealing point of the seal (20).
  8. A tension relief device according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the annular pressure member (12) is constructed as a cap nut and co-operates with a screwthread (18) formed on the outside of the annular wall (13) of the cage (11).
  9. A tension relief device according to claim 8, characterised in that the screwthread (19) of the cap nut and/or the screwthread (18) on the outside of the annular wall (13) is/are provided with locking teeth to prevent unwanted unturning and loosening of the cap nut.
  10. A tension relief device according to claim 9, characterised in that the housing component (1) of the electric plug-in device constitutes a hood (1) of which the tension relief device forms an integral part of an electric plug-in device.
