  • the subject power striker mechanism 10 is configured to prevent transmission of impact forces on the striker 18, by a slammed closure panel, back through the driver assembly 14 and to the gear motor 16. An impact force imparted on the striker 18 will be in an inboard outboard direction.
  • the operation of the power striker mechanism 10 begins once the vehicle closure panel is moved to an initial closed position and the latch on the vehicle closure panel, typically a door, hood or deck, has latched onto the striker 18.
  • the actuator 16 is energized to rotate the drive gear 64 that in turn rotates the sector gear 58.
  • the rotation of the sector gear 58 forces the driver plate 44 to slide.
  • the driver plate 44 engages the roller 40, responsively moves the roller 40 along the outboard end 41 and then diagonally towards the inboard end 43 and then along the inboard end 43.
  • the drive pin 36 which engages the roller, responsively transmits the inboard movement to the striker plate 20 and striker 18, causing the striker 18 to move inboard (Arrow A) and pull the vehicle closure panel to a final closed position.
  • the driver plate 44 and the striker plate are uncoupled from the housing enabling the sliding movement of both and thereby effect the inboard and outboard movement of the striker plate 20. Therefor, forces applied to the striker 18 will not be converted to movement of the driver plate 44.
  • the S-shaped profile of the cam slot 42 prevents impact forces from being transmitted to the actuator 16. Impact loads are ultimately transmitted to the vehicle. The result is the atctuatorl6 being insulated from impact forces exerted on the striker 18.

Claims (7)

  1. Mécanisme de gâche motorisée (10) comprenant:
    un boítier (22, 28),
    une gâche (18) montée sur une plaque de gâche (20), ladite plaque de gâche (20) étant montée sur ledit boítier (22, 28) en vue d'un mouvement de glissement entre une position intérieure et une position extérieure;
    une plaque d'entraínement (44) montée sur le boítier (22, 28) en vue d'un mouvement de glissement dans une direction orthogonale audit mouvement de glissement de ladite plaque de gâche (20) et couplée fonctionnement à cette dernière dans une relation d'excentration, et
    un actionneur (16) couplé fonctionnellement à ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) pour effectuer un mouvement de cette dernière afin d'effectuer ainsi un mouvement de ladite plaque de gâche (20) entre lesdites positions intérieure et extérieure, ladite relation d'excentration comprenant des phases finales (43, 41) correspondant auxdites positions intérieure et extérieure dans lesquelles ladite plaque de gâche (20) et ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) sont couplées au boítier (22, 28) et comprenant une phase intermédiaire entre lesdites phases finales (43, 41) dans laquelle ladite plaque de gâche (20) et ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) sont découplées dudit boítier (22, 28) en permettant ledit mouvement de glissement de ladite plaque de gâche (20) et ladite plaque d'entraínement (44), caractérisé en ce que ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) comprend une série de dents (46) et ledit actionneur (16) comprend un pignon menant (64) en relation d'entraínement avec ladite série de dents (46) de ladite plaque d'entraínement (44).
  2. Mécanisme de gâche motorisée selon la revendication 1, dans lequel l'une desdites plaque de gâche (20) et plaque d'entraínement (44) comprend une broche (36) et l'autre desdites plaque de gâche (20) et plaque d'entraínement (44) comporte une fente en S (42), ladite broche (36) étant engagée en glissement dans ladite fente en S (42), ladite fente en S (42) possédant des régions d'extrémité (41, 43) s'étendant dans ladite direction orthogonale et interconnectées par une section s'étendant diagonalement, ce par quoi quand ladite broche (36) se trouve dans lesdites régions d'extrémité (41, 43) de ladite fente en S (42), des forces exercées sur la gâche (18) sont transmises au boítier (22, 28) et quand ladite broche (36) se déplace le long de ladite section s'étendant diagonalement, ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) effectue un mouvement de ladite plaque de gâche (20).
  3. Mécanisme de gâche motorisée selon la revendication 1 ou 2, dans lequel ledit boítier (22, 28) comprend un secteur denté (58) monté sur lui, ledit secteur denté (58) s'étendant fonctionnellement entre ladite série de dents (46) de ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) et ledit pignon menant (64) dudit actionneur (16).
  4. Mécanisme de gâche motorisée selon la revendication 3, dans lequel ledit boítier comprend une plaque arrière (28) retenant une plaque de couvercle (22) en délimitant une première cavité (25) entre elles, ladite plaque arrière (28) comportant une ouverture (38) recevant ladite broche (36), ladite plaque de couvercle (22) comportant une ouverture (25) à travers laquelle s'étend ladite gâche (18), ladite première cavité (25) comprenant des coussinets (34) formant une première glissière, ladite plaque de gâche (20) étant reçue avec possibilité de glissement dans ladite première glissière.
  5. Mécanisme de gâche motorisée selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ledit boítier comprend une plaque arrière (28) retenant une plaque de couvercle (22) en délimitant une première cavité (25) entre elles, ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) comprenant une broche (36) reçue dans une ouverture (38) de ladite plaque arrière (28), ladite plaque de couvercle (22) comportant une ouverture (25) à travers laquelle s'étend ladite gâche (18), ladite première cavité (25) comprenant des coussinets (34) formant une première glissière, ladite plaque de gâche (20) étant reçue avec possibilité de glissement dans ladite première glissière.
  6. Mécanisme de gâche motorisée selon la revendication 4 ou 5, dans lequel ledit boítier (22, 28, 48, 50) comprend en outre un boítier d'entraínement (48) retenant un couvercle d'entraínement (50) en délimitant une deuxième cavité entre eux, ledit couvercle d'entraínement (50) comportant une ouverture (51) recevant ladite broche (36), ledit boítier d'entraínement (48) comportant une ouverture (49) permettant un accès pour ledit couplage fonctionnel entre ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) et ledit actionneur (16), ladite deuxième cavité comprenant des coussinets (56) formant une deuxième glissière, ladite plaque d'entraínement (44) étant reçue avec possibilité de glissement dans ladite deuxième glissière.
  7. Mécanisme de gâche motorisée selon la revendication 6, dans laquelle ledit couvercle d'entraínement (50) et ladite plaque arrière (28) sont en contact en position dos-à-dos avec alignement desdites ouvertures respectives (51, 38) permettant à ladite broche (36) de s'étendre à travers elles.
