Abstract

The packaging is made from a blank comprising several parts connected by folding lines. In the first part (12) is a pre-cut (72) defining a tongue (78) which forms a handle. The tongue is connected at one end (78a) to a first portion (84) of a second part (16) forming a flap which is folded down against the inside of the first part. When the tongue is partially detached from the package the first portion articulates along a folding line (86) facilitating the gripping of the tongue. There are two openings (92,94) in the first part at the tongue end connected to the flap which enable this first portion to articulate along the folding line.

Description

The invention relates to a packaging made from a blank comprising several parts which are connected together according to fold lines.

It is known to manufacture packaging of the above type in which a handle is arranged on one of the parts constituting the blank.

However, the presence in this type of packaging of a handle precut in one part of the blank often makes it difficult, even impossible, the stacking of these blanks and therefore represents a major drawback for storing these before they are shaped to become packaging.

In addition, we also know of packaging made from blanks comprising several parts connected to each other along lines of folding and one of these parts has a pre-cut handle which is arranged to facilitate the stacking of such blanks.

However, when the latter type of packaging is shaped, very often realizes that the person wishing to wear such a filled package has very little room to position his hands around the handle, as soon as it has been partially detached from the packaging, making manual transport of the packaging difficult.

To overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, it has been proposed, in particular in document FR-A-2 467 145, a packaging produced from a blank comprising several parts connected to each other along fold lines, and, in at at least one part, called the first part, a precut defining in particular pre-cut lines delimiting a tongue which is arranged in the plane of said first part and intended to form, after cutting, a handle partially detached from the packaging, the tab being connected, at least one of its ends, to a first portion of a second portion which constitutes a flap intended to be held in the folded position against a face said internal part, the first portion being connected to said flap by a first fold line which, in the folded position of the flap, is arranged at least partially in line with the tongue, and when the tongue is partially detached from the packaging, the first portion is articulated according to the first fold line, thus facilitating the gripping of the tongue.

The present invention relates to a packaging of the above kind, the tongue has better mechanical resistance, which is strongly requested during transport.

According to the invention, at the end of the tongue which is connected to the first portion of flap, two openings are arranged in the first part of the blank, on either side of the tongue, in order to allow the articulation of this first portion following the first fold line, the first portion of flap with a transverse extension greater than that of the tongue.

This provides better resistance to mechanical stress generated during the transport of the packaging with its contents.

Advantageously, by arranging the tongue which will later serve as handle in the plane of the first part of the blank, the latter can be easily stacked with other blanks of the same type for storage.

Furthermore, the arrangement according to which the first portion of the flap is connected by the first fold line to the flap itself and is held in folded position opposite the internal face of the tongue allows the latter, when from its partial detachment from the packaging, to deviate further from the latter and therefore increase the free space between the handle and the packaging, to introduce a person's fingers.

Note that the additional space provided to the user to introduce his fingers between the handle and the packaging is a function of the distance between the first fold line and tongue.

More particularly, the first portion of the flap forming a return in direction of the tongue, in the folded position of the flap, is articulated according to the first fold line when partially detached from the packaging and constitutes a sort of bellows which gives the tongue greater amplitude during this movement.

When the tab is detached from the packaging, the joint of the first portion of the flap takes place along the first fold line.

According to one characteristic, the precut has openings of gripping arranged on either side of the tongue, away from the end of the latter which is connected to the first portion of the flap.

These openings allow a person to insert their fingers under the tab and thus detach it partially from the packaging.

According to one characteristic, precut lines are provided between the first portion of the flap and the latter in an area disposed between the tongue and the first fold line.

These precut lines facilitate the articulation of the first portion of the flap around the first fold line.

More specifically, the first fold line is arranged substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the tongue.

According to one characteristic, the tongue is connected to the first portion of the flap along a second fold line.

For example, the first portion of the flap has an oblong shape.

According to one characteristic, a reinforcing strip is provided at the right of the tongue, this in order to reinforce the latter when lifting the packaging by the handle tab.

According to one characteristic, at the end of the tongue opposite to that connected to the first flap portion, said tab is connected to a second portion of a third portion of the blank, along a fold line, parallel to the first fold line, said second portion being connected to the third part by another fold line parallel to the fold line according to which the second portion and the tongue are connected.

According to one characteristic, the third part presents lines of pre-cut which extend substantially in the extension of the lines of precut of the first part, from the fold line along which the second portion and the tongue are connected and up to an area where each of these precut lines initiates a return towards said fold line.

Thus, during the partial detachment of the tab from the packaging, the presence of the last fold line connecting the second portion to the third part and precut lines in the third part of the blank allows the tongue to articulate around this fold line and, when transport of the packaging by a user, this tab can penetrate the inside of the packaging perimeter defined in part by the fold line between the second portion and the tongue and therefore, again, this allows to increase the space available for the insertion of the user's fingers.

According to one characteristic, the packaging is a cardboard packaging.

According to one characteristic, the packaging comprises a bottom and a cover and, for example, the first part of the blank forms the cover.

According to one characteristic, the third part constitutes one of the walls side of the packaging, the two ends of the tongue being therefore respectively in contact with the flap and the side part.

According to one characteristic, the lateral part is connected to a part side itself connected to a side part itself connected to a side part, said side parts having flaps positioned under the cover and each having a central recess for one and lateral for the others cooperating with the tongue.

Other characteristics and advantages will appear during the description which follows, given solely by way of nonlimiting example and made with reference to the appended drawings, in which:

• Figure 1 is a top view of a blank for making a package according to the invention;
• Figure 2 is a schematic partial perspective view of the upper part of the package after its shaping;
• Figure 3 is a schematic perspective view showing the packaging according to the invention once formed and its handle in the transport position.

As shown in Figure 1, a blank designated by the reference general noted 10 comprises several parts connected together by fold lines which, after folding along these lines, will constitute walls (cover, side walls and bottom) of the packaging shown in Figures 2 and 3.

The blank in Figure 1 represents the inside of this package and therefore appear the internal faces of the different parts.

More particularly, this blank comprises a first part 12 which is intended to form the cover of the packaging and connected according to a first fold line 14 to a second part 16 constituting a flap.

The inner face of this flap that can be seen in FIG. 1 is intended for be folded along the fold line 14 against the inner face of the first part 12 and to be held in this folded position, for example, by through that arranged on the bonding zones shown schematically by the locations 18.

To this end, Figure 2 shows in dotted lines the position of the flap 16 against the internal face of the part 12 when the packaging has been formed.

The blank also includes a third part 20 connected to the first part 12 by a fold line 22 and which is intended, once the packaging formed, to constitute one of the side walls of this packaging.

This lateral part 20 extends longitudinally at the end opposite to that connected to the first part 12, by another part constituting a flap 24.

This flap is intended to partially constitute the bottom of the packaging a once it has been formed.

The lateral part 20 and the flap 24 are connected together by a line folding 26.

The blank also includes a part 28 connected to the lateral part 20 by a folding line 30 and which is also intended, once the packaging formed, forming one of the side walls.

This part, also described as lateral, extends longitudinally at its two opposite ends according to flaps 32 and 34 which are respectively connected to it by two respective fold lines 36 and 38.

Once the packaging is shaped, the flap 32 is intended to come position under the cover 12, while the flap 34 will be positioned above the flap 24.

The blank includes a third part 40, also qualified as lateral for the same reasons as those cited for the previous two parts 20 and 28 and which is connected to the lateral part 28 by a fold line 42.

This lateral part 40 also extends longitudinally at its two opposite ends according to flaps noted respectively 44 and 46 which are respectively connected to it by two fold lines 48 and 50.

Once the packaging is shaped, the flap 44 is intended to come position under the cover 12 and above the flap 32, while the flap 46 is intended to be positioned under the flap 34.

The blank includes finally a fourth part 52, also qualified as lateral for the same reasons as indicated above, and which is connected to the third lateral part 40 by a fold line 54.

This fourth lateral part 52 extends longitudinally at its two opposite ends according to respective flaps 56 and 58 which are respectively connected to it by two respective fold lines 60 and 62.

Once the packaging is shaped, the flap 56 is positioned under the flap 44, while flap 58 is placed above flap 46.

The fourth lateral part 52 further comprises another flap 64 arranged along its entire length and connected to it by a fold line 66.

On the outer face of this flap 64 is shown a dotted line 68 representing different places to receive, for example, glue for the purpose of forming the packaging and, more particularly, of fixing it flap on the internal face of the first lateral part 20.

The part of the description which follows will relate more particularly to the upper part of the packaging shown in Figures 2 and 3 and which corresponds, in Figure 1, to the first, second and third parts respectively noted 12, 16 and 20.

In the first part 12 of the blank 10, a precut 72 is produced which has two gripping openings 74, 76 arranged, for example, symmetrically, on either side of a tongue 78 which extends longitudinally between the flap 16 and the lateral part 20, more precisely, between fold line 14 and fold line 22.

The gripping openings 74 and 76 are each advantageously in the shape of a semi-circular sector.

This precut 72 also has precut lines 80, 82 which delimit the tongue.

It will be noted that the precut lines 80 and 82 are discontinuous and respectively arranged on either side of the gripping openings 74 and 76.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the tongue 72 is arranged in the plane of the first part forming a cover 12 in order to allow the stack of blanks identical to this one.

When the package has been formed, as shown in Figure 2, the tongue is intended to be partially detached from this packaging, after separation thereof along the aforementioned precut lines, to constitute a handle or handle, as shown in Figure 3.

The tongue 78 has two ends 78a and 78b which are respectively in contact with the flap 16 and the lateral part 20.

At the end 78a, the tongue is connected to the flap 16 along a portion of the fold line 14, noted here 14a, and which constitutes the extension of the latter in the middle part of the flap.

More specifically, the tongue is connected to a first portion 84 of the flap along this fold line 14a and this portion is itself connected to the entire flap by a fold line 86 qualified as the first line of folding within the meaning of the present invention.

The fold line 14, more particularly the fraction 14a, constitutes a second fold line within the meaning of the present invention.

In the present case, the first portion 84 is disposed perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the tongue and has a substantially oblong shape, thus giving the tongue-first assembly serving a general shape of T in the supine position (Figure 1).

The flap 16 represents two precut lines 88, 90 which are arranged at opposite ends of the first portion 84 sockets in a transverse direction relative to the longitudinal extension of the tongue. It will be noted that the dimension of this first portion which extends between its two opposite ends is called the transverse dimension.

Note that these two opposite ends of the first portion each have a semi-circular shape.

The presence of these precut lines between the flap 16 and the first portion 84 thereof in an area arranged between the first and second fold lines allows this first portion to be articulated according to this first fold line.

Near the end 78a of the tongue, and away from the gripping openings 74 and 76, two other openings denoted 92, 94 are arranged in the cover 12, here symmetrically, on either side of the tongue and opposite the two fractions 84a, 84b of the first portion 84 which extend transversely relative to said tongue beyond the latter.

These openings 92, 94 will allow the articulation of the first portion 84 along the first fold line 86 after the flap 16 has been folded against the inner face of the cover 12.

Note that the first and second fold lines respectively denoted 86 and 14a are arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the tongue.

The first portion of flap 84 also has, as appears in FIGS. 1 to 3, a transverse extension greater than that of the tongue, since it will constitute an anchor point for the tongue in the packaging which will be highly stressed during the transport of this packaging especially at the right of the first folding line that plays, in a way, the role of a hinge.

Thus, this larger transverse extension provides the tongue sufficient mechanical resistance to prevent it from being torn off packaging.

It should be noted that the relative transverse dimensions of the tongue and this first portion of flap may vary depending on the load that can be transported inside the packaging.

Furthermore, the transverse dimension of the tongue can be increased and, correspondingly, the dimensions of the openings of grip 74 and 76.

Similarly, the longitudinal dimension of the first portion 84 taken along the longitudinal extension of the tongue can also be increased to provide better mechanical reinforcement.

The tongue 78 is connected at its opposite end 78b to the third part 20 of the blank along the fold line 22 and, more particularly, of the fraction thereof denoted 22a and called the third fold line within the meaning of the present invention.

This third fold line is parallel to the fold lines 14, notably 14a, and 86.

More particularly, the tongue 78 is connected by this line of folding 22a to a second portion 96 which, itself, is connected to the third part 20 by a fold line 98 qualified as the fourth line of folding within the meaning of the present invention and which is also parallel to the third fold line.

The third part 20 presents two precut lines 100 and 102 which each have two parts: a first part marked 100a, 102a arranged in the extension of the respective precut line 80, 82 and which extends from the third fold line 22a to an area where each of them joins a second part marked 100b, 102b which initiates a back towards the third fold line, without going as far as reach it, to avoid weakening the packaging.

Note also that the flaps 32, 44 and 56 each have a recess, central 104 for the flap 44 and lateral 106 and 108 for the flaps 32 and 56, each intended to cooperate with the tongue 78, near its end 78b, in order to serve as a support for the latter when it is used in transport position as shown in figure 3.

In addition, it should be noted that the transverse dimension of the recess 104 corresponds to the transverse dimensions of the tongue.

Note that it is possible to arrange, visible in Figure 1, on the right of the tongue 78, a reinforcing strip 105, the presence of which serves to reinforcement of the handle; the reinforcing strip 105 may be adhesive, plastic and deposited on the surface on the tongue 78, or braided and deposited in sandwich in the material itself, or any other kind.

We will now briefly describe the shape of the packaging 110 from blank 10.

As indicated above, the flap 16 is folded against the face interior visible in FIG. 1 of the first part forming a cover 12 after having glued the slots 18 thereof or else after removing adhesive strips which protected these already glued locations.

This folding is carried out along the fold line 14 and, more precisely according to fraction 14a at the tongue 78 and we obtain the result shown in Figure 2 where the inner face of the flap 16 is delimited by dotted lines.

Thus, in this folded position, the first portion 84 is arranged in below the tongue 78 facing a part of the internal face of the latter, so that the first fold line 86 has moved closer to the part median of the tongue 78 relative to the first fold line.

After this operation, we also proceed to the folding of each flaps 24, 32, 34, 44, 46, 56, 58 and 64 towards the interior faces of the side parts concerned 20, 28, 40 and 52 and the gluing of the outer face of the flap 64 intended to be glued with the inner face of the part lateral 20.

The side parts 20, 28 are then firstly folded in accordance with the fold line 30, at a right angle between them, having respectively the flap 34 above the flap 24 and the flap 32 below the cover portion 12.

The side part 52 is then folded back, in accordance with the fold line 54, at a right angle to the lateral part 40, taking care to arrange respectively the flap 56 below the flap 44 and the flap 58 above flap 46.

The flap 64 is also folded back in accordance with the line folding 66 at a right angle to the internal face visible on the Figure 1 of the side part 52.

Finally, the lateral parts 28 and 40 are folded in accordance with the line of folding 42 at a right angle between these two parts, taking care to place the flap 44 above the flap 32 and below the cover 12 and the flap 46 below flap 34.

During these last two assembly operations, the external face of the flap 64 is arranged against a portion of the internal face of the lateral part 20 in order to permanently close the packaging.

The package 110 thus formed has the appearance partially shown in the figure 2 on which the tongue 78 is always disposed in the plane of the cover 12. This allows, in this position, to stack the packages one above the other others.

It is however possible not to have a second fold line 14a in the position of FIG. 2. In this case, the first portion of flap 84 and the portion of tongue arranged opposite would not be flat but would form a kind of loop, the first portion remaining articulated following the first fold line 86.

When the packaging has been shaped, it no longer remains for the user wishing to transport this packaging, once filled, only to release the handle to starting from the precut 72 described above.

To do this, simply pass a finger through each of the openings gripping 74 and 76, for example the thumb and forefinger, and lift.

The handle 78 is then detached from the cover 12 along the lines of precuts 80 and 82.

During this movement, the articulation of the first portion 84 takes place first along the second fold line 14a, then along the first line folding 14a.

However, in the absence of a second fold line, as indicated above high, the detachment movement can be facilitated since the user can slide a finger in the loop formed by the first portion 84 and the tongue portion arranged opposite.

In such a case, it is even possible to delete the openings of gripping 74 and 76, the aforementioned loop fulfilling this function.

The precut 72 thus made it possible to produce a handle or handle intended for the transport of the packaging 110.

As shown in Figure 3, by lifting the handle 78, the user exerts a force on the first portion 84 which then mainly articulates around the first fold line 86, thus playing the role of a hinge.

This allows the end 78a of the handle to move away from the fraction remaining of the fold line 14 partially delimiting the perimeter of the packaging and which remains opposite the fold line 48 and to be placed further towards the center of the cover 12.

It is thus understood that with this advantageous arrangement of the tongue articulated on the flap 16, as long as the latter is kept in the folded position against the inner face of the cover 12, the user wishing to transport the packaging according to the invention saves space in order to be able to place its fingers under the handle 78.

It will be noted that the gain in space thus offered to the user and facilitating the grip of the handle depends on the size of the first portion 84 along the longitudinal extension of said handle.

However, this dimension cannot, however, be increased beyond of a certain value so as not to reduce the part of the cover 12 arranged between the openings 92, 94 and the respective openings 74 and 76, which would affect the mechanical strength of the packaging.

As can be seen in FIG. 3, the openings 92 and 94 do not constitute more than a single opening which sort of hangs in the cover 12 from its periphery coinciding with the fold line 14 and advantageously allows the folding of the first portion 84 towards the center of cover 12 along fold lines 14a and 86.

In addition, when the handle is detached from the packaging (Fig. 3), thanks in the presence of the second fold line 14a, it is always possible to stack the packages on top of each other without damaging this handle.

In the absence of such a second fold line 14a, it would be even possible to stack the packaging, but it would then form on the tab a fold in a place not necessarily desired.

At the opposite end 78b of the handle, when the user lifts this to partially detach it from the packaging, thanks to the lines of precut 100, 102 described previously with reference to Figure 1, said tongue folds first along the third fold line 22a then along the fourth fold line 98, so that the second portion 96 penetrates inside the perimeter of the packaging defined in part by the party lateral 20, as well as the fold line 22a penetrates inside the perimeter packaging partially defined by the rest of fold line 22 as shown in figure 3.

Thus, this advantageous arrangement again makes it possible to bring together the end 78b of the handle from the center of the cover 12 and therefore increase the free space offered to the user to position his fingers under the handle.

Note that the realization of such a handle for the transport of the packaging according to the invention from a precut provided in the blank to from which the packaging is shaped, is particularly simple to design and implementation for the user wishing to transport packaging.

It should be noted that this type of packaging is for example a cardboard packaging.

Claims (13)

Packaging (110) produced from a blank (10) comprising several parts connected to each other along fold lines, and, in at least one part, called the first part (12), a precut (72) defining in particular lines of precut (72) delimiting a tongue (78) which is arranged in the plane of said first part and intended to form, after cutting, a handle partially detached from the packaging, the tongue (78) being connected, to at least one (78a) from its ends, to a first portion (84) of a second portion (16) forming a flap intended to be held in the folded position against a so-called internal face of the first portion, the first portion (84) being connected to said flap by a first fold line (86) which, in the folded position of the flap, is arranged at least partially in line with the tongue, and, when the tongue is partially detached from the packaging, the first portion is articulated runs along the first fold line (86), thus facilitating the gripping of the tongue, characterized in that , at the end (78a) of the tongue (78) which is connected to the first portion of flap (84), two openings (92, 94) are arranged in the first part (12), on either side of the tongue, in order to allow the articulation of this first portion along the first fold line (86), the first portion flap (84) having a transverse extension greater than that of the tongue (78). Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the precut (72) has gripping openings (74, 76) arranged on either side of the tongue, spaced from the end (78a) of the latter which is connected to the first portion (84) of the flap. Packaging according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that precut lines (88, 90) are provided between the first portion of flap (84) and the latter (16), in an area disposed between the tongue and the first line folding (86). Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the first fold line (86) is arranged substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the tongue (78). Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the tongue (78) is connected to the first portion (84) of the flap (16) along a second fold line (14a). Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the first portion of flap (84) has an oblong shape. Packaging according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a reinforcing strip (104) is provided in line with the tongue (78). Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that , at the end (78b) of the tongue which is opposite to that (78a) connected to the first flap portion (84), said tongue is connected to a second portion (96) of a third portion (20) of the blank (10), along a fold line (22a) parallel to the first fold line (86), said second portion (96) being connected to the third part (20) by another fold line (98) parallel to the fold line (22a) along which the second portion (96) and the tongue (78) are connected. Packaging according to claim 8, characterized in that the third part (20) has pre-cut lines (100, 102) which extend substantially in the extension of the pre-cut lines (80, 82) of the first part (12) , from the fold line (22a) and to an area where each of these precut lines initiates a return towards said fold line (22a). Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the packaging (110) is a cardboard packaging. Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the packaging (110) comprises a bottom (24, 34, 46, 58) and a cover (12), the first part of the blank (10) forming the lid. Package according to claim 11, characterized in that the third part (20) constitutes one of the side walls of the package, the two ends (78a, 78b) of the tongue (78) therefore being respectively in contact with the flap ( 16) and the side part (20). Package according to Claims 9, 11 and 12 taken together, characterized in that the side part (20) is connected to a side part (28) which is itself connected to a side part (40) which is itself connected to a side part (52), said lateral parts (28, 40, 52) having flaps (32, 44, 56) positioned under the cover (12) and each having a central recess (104) for one (44) and lateral ( 106, 108) for the others (32, 56) cooperating with the tongue (78).
