Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Katalysator für eine Abgasanlage einer Kraftfahrzeug-Brennkraftmaschine mit einem längsdurchströmten monolithischen keramischen Katalysator-Brick (2), der von einem Mantelgehäuse (1) umschlossen ist und darin von einer Quellmatte (3) abgestützt ist. Um bei einem Bruch des Bricks (2) Funktionsstörungen zu vermeiden, ist der Brick (2) mit zumindest einer Sollbruchstelle in Form einer umlaufenden Rinne (6) bzw. in Form von auf einer Umfangslinie angeordneten Vertiefungen (7) versehen. Die Quellmatte (3) ist über der Sollbruchstelle verstärkt. Damit können unkontrollierte Brüche des Bricks (2) im Katalysator vermieden werden.
