Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Sendeantenne für Navigationsanlagen.
Werden solche Antennen in Navigationsanlagen für den Flugverkehr, insbesondere z.B. für den Instrumentenlandeanflug eingesetzt, dann besteht naturgemäß ein hohes Sicherheitsbedürfnis. Dazu zählt die Forderung, daß die Signale in der erforderlichen Genauigkeit und ungestört abgestrahlt werden.
Eine bekannte und übliche Maßnahme zur Überprüfung der abgestrahlten Signale sieht die Verwendung von Monitorsonden vor. Mit solchen Monitorsonden, die in Abhängigkeit vom Einzelfall für die Gesamtantenne oder einzelne Antennenstrahlergruppen vorgesehen werden, wird das von der Sendeantenne abgestrahlte Signal empfangen und an eine Auswerteeinheit weitergeleitet. Dieser Auswerteeinheit wird ebenso in bekannter Weise ein vom Antennenspeisesignal abgeleitetes Signal zugefeihrt. Der Vergleich dieser beiden Signale ergibt dann eine Aussage über mögliche Abweichungen, entsprechende Korrekturen können sodann erfolgen.
Die genannten Antennen werden in aller Regel im Freien eingerichtet und betrieben. Zum Schutz gegen Witterungsschäden werden die Antennen in Schutzgehäusen untergebracht, die auch als Radom bezeichnet werden.
In der Praxis hat es sich nun gezeigt, daß wetterbedingte Auflagen auf der Außenseite des Radoms, also Schnee, Eis oder auch Regen, unerwünschte Reflektionen verursachen; diese Reflektionen führen dann bei den Monitorsonden zu falschen oder gestörten Signalen und demzufolge ist dann auch die Auswertung fehlerhaft.
Da es sich bei einem Radom stets um ein räumliches Gebilde handelt, sind die o.g. Auflagen durch konstruktive Maßnahmen nie ganz zu vermeiden.
Die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung besteht also darin, eine Sendeantenne für Navigationsanlagen zu schaffen, bei der Kontrollsonde(n) das abgestrahlte Signal empfangen und zu einer internen Auswerteeinheit weiterleiten, in der das von den Kontrollsonde(n) empfangene Signal mit dem der Sendeantenne von der Antennenspeiseeinrichtung zugeführten Signal verglichen wird und die Sendeantenne von einem Schutzgehäuse, einem sogenannten Radom umgeben ist, welche die Aussendung ungestörter Signale erlaubt, d.h. bei welcher die Empfindlichkeit hinsichtlich wetterbedingter Auflagen weitestgehend reduziert ist.
Diese Aufgabe wird in Übereinstimmung mit der Erfindung dadurch gelöst, daß auf der Innenseite des Radoms Reflektoren und eine Absorbtionsschicht in denjenigen Bereichen des Radoms angebracht sind, die wetterbedingt mit Schnee-, Eis- oder Regen-Auflagen bedeckt sind.
Diese Kombination zweier Maßnahmen hat sich als wirksam und leicht zu verwirklichen erwiesen.
Weitere Einzelheiten und Vorteile der Erfindung und deren Ausbildungen können der nachfolgenden Beschreibung der beigefügten Zeichnung entnommen werden.
In der beigefügten Zeichnung mit einer Figur ist eine Querschnittsdarstellung einer Strahlergruppe eines Navigationsantennensystems für den Instrumentenlandeanflug, insbesondere einer sogenannten Gleitwegantenne zu sehen. Eine solche Antenne wird im Frequenzbereich von 328 bis 335 MHz betrieben. Jede der o.g. Strahlergruppen besteht aus einer Doppelreihe von Dipolen 1 und 2 die vor einer leitenden Rückwand 6 angebracht sind. Ebenfalls an der Rückwand 6 ist eine Monitorsonde befestigt, von der in der Fig. 1 die Teile 3 und 4 zu sehen sind. In diesem konkreten Fall handelt es sich um eine Schleifensonde. Das von Dipolen 1 und 2 abgestrahlte Signal wird auch von der Monitorsonde aufgenommen und in nicht dargestellter Weise zu der hier nicht gezeigten Auswerteeinheit geleitet. Auch die Antennenspeiseeinrichtung ist nicht dargestellt, da sie für das Verständnis der Erfindung nicht erforderlich ist; im übrigen handelt es sich dabei um allgemein bekannte Funktionselemente einer Antenne. Zum Schutz der Sendeantenne ist ein Radom 5 vorgesehen. Im vorliegenden Fall handelt es sich um ein wannenförmiges Gehäuse mit nahezu rechteckigem Querschnitt gemäß Zeichnung. Die Sendeantenne ist in Fig. 1 in der Position gezeigt, in der sie betrieben wird. Demzufolge kann sich auf der Oberseite des Radoms z.B. bei Schneefall eine Schneeauflage 9 bilden. An dieser Schneeauflage 9 werden beim Betrieb der Sendeantenne aufgrund der physikalischen Eigenschaft der Schneeauflage entsprechende Teile des Sendesignals reflektiert. Diese reflektierten Signale werden ebenso wie die von den Dipolen ausgehenden und direkt auf die Monitorsonde auftreffenden Sendesignale empfangen. Damit entsteht ein von Reflektionssignalen überlagertes Signal, das zur Auswerteeinheit geleitet wird; dieses Signal entspricht aber nicht dem vom Flugzeug empfangenen Sendesignal.
Durch Anbringen eines zusätzlichen Reflektors 7 und einer Absorbtionsschicht 8 an der Innenseite des Radoms 5, und zwar dort, wo sich natürlicherweise z.B. eine Schneeauflage 9 bilden kann, wird erfindungsgemäß Abhilfe geschaffen.
Der Reflektor kann auf verschiedene Weise realisiert werden. In der Zeichnung sind beispielsweise Reflektorstäbe gezeigt. Es könnte aber auch z.B. eine leitende Folie verwendet werden. Um sicherzustellen, daß eine von Regen oder Eis auf der Vorderseite des Radoms 5 reflektierte Strahlung über den Reflektor 7, der in diesem Fall als eine Art Winkelreflektor wirkt, das Monitorsignal beeinträchtigt, wird der Reflektor 7 gemeinsam mit einer Absorbtionsschicht 8 auf der Innenseite des Radoms 5 angebracht. Auf diese kombinatorische Weise wird die Sendeantenne weitgehend unempfindlich gegenüber Witterungseinflüssen (Regen, Eis, Schnee).

Claims (4)

  1. Sendeantenne für Navigationsanlagen, bei der Kontrollsonde(n) das abgestrahlte Signal empfangen und zu einer internen Auswerteeinheit weiterleiten, in der das von den Kontrollsonden empfangene Signal mit dem der Sendeantenne von der Antennenspeiseeinrichtung zugeführten Signal verglichen wird und die Sendeantenne von einem Schutzgehäuse, einem sogenannten Radom, umgeben ist,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß auf der Innenseite des Radoms Reflektoren und eine Absorbtionsschicht in denjenigen Bereichen des Radoms angebracht sind, die wetterbedingt mit Schnee-, Eisoder Regen-Auflagen bedeckt sind.
  2. Sendeantenne nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Reflektoren aus metallischen Stäben bestehen.
  3. Sendeantenne nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Reflektoren als leitende Schicht auf der Radominnenfläche angebracht sind.
  4. Sendeantenne nach Anspruch 2,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die leitende Schicht als Metallfolie ausgebildet ist.
