Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for producing printed surfaces according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Fluorescent dyes are mixed with normal dyes to make the color brighter in daylight.
  • the invisible dyes or fluorescent dyes that are fluorescent in ultraviolet light (UV light) are also used in theater for special effects, whereby their dramatically fluorescent properties are exploited under UV lighting.
  • fluorescent films which are adhesive, are cut into letters and / or figures, emblems, logograms and the like, for example on a window pane or a corresponding pane or plate made of glass, plexiglass or a similar translucent material can be glued, which thereby forms a support for signs or advertising.
  • EP-A1-92 916 031 discloses an adhesive, fluorescent film with a translucent layer which is impenetrable or essentially impenetrable to UV rays.
  • a disadvantage of using such adhesive, fluorescent foils in the form of cut letters, figures, emblems, logograms and the like for signs or in advertising is that only lettering, logos and uniform color areas can be emphasized, but that photographic images and pictures generally cannot be represented in color gradations and transitions. It is also disadvantageous that numerous foil characters (patterns) have to be produced and cut in complex individual steps and that the individual monochrome foil patterns have to be positioned and glued by hand as part of the actual design of the label or the advertising space.
  • US-A-4 652 464 also discloses a method of printing art or advertising graphics using visible and / or invisible, fluorescent Dyes and non-fluorescent dyes are known in many print series of colors, each print series being carried out with a defined print pattern.
  • Art and advertising graphics are produced in the printing process with the property of displaying an object under clearly different lighting conditions with a smooth transition when the object is viewed under lighting that varies between daylight or incandescent light up to UV light.
  • visible and / or invisible fluorescent dyes are used during the printing process, which are applied to previously selected fields of the image in a defined pattern in order to obtain the desired colors under normal or daylight and to combine these fluorescent dyes with the to fuse non-fluorescent dyes under UV light, so that the fluorescent dyes are mixed or covered in normal light.
  • the relative ratio and the colors and different hues of the non-fluorescent dyes and the visible and invisible fluorescent dyes are preselected in order to achieve a gradual, fine transition on the image when viewed under lighting conditions between daylight and UV. Change light, or to mix or shade the effect, or to attenuate the intensity of the fluorescent dyes in certain fields to achieve a more natural and softer effect under UV light.
  • the present invention is based on the object of avoiding the large number of printing steps required hitherto and, in particular, the complex adjustment of the fluorescent colors in the printing process.
  • An expedient development of the invention provides that the printing inks and / or varnishes have organic pigments in the range from 15% to 20%, fluorescent pigments in the range from 5% to 30% and optically active substances in the range from 0% to one kilogram of color be added. These measures create a very weak lighting effect of the colors.
  • the measures of claim 3 make a weak one, while the measures of claim 4 achieve a medium luminous effect of the colors.
  • a strong luminous effect is achieved by the measures of claim 5 and finally a very strong luminous effect of the colors is achieved by the measures of claim 6.
  • the invention extends to a single color printing process.
  • the printing inks are highly lightfast printing inks. Special colors can also be taken into account.
  • Printing with fluorescent colors ensures that the printed image corresponds to the original in terms of color fastness and gradation in daylight and appears as a completely normal poster or advertising space, but with the effect that the fluorescent dyes are also used in daylight A higher luminosity of the colors is already expressed, so that the image catches the eye of the viewer much sooner than a conventional four-color print poster.
  • the image printed with fluorescent colors, the advertising graphics, advertising space or the like shines out of itself at night under UV light with authentic color reproduction in relation to the daylight effect, comparable to the luminosity of a television picture, but even more effectively All color gradations are such that three-dimensional effects with the lighting effect of a slide projection are created in the image and a deep spatial effect is achieved, so that special attention is paid to the viewer.
  • the image surface on a dark background glows out of itself at night under UV lighting, since the UV light source, in contrast to white light, does not throw any stray light.
  • the printing method according to the present invention comprises conventional methods and materials, in particular the combination of the function of the elements makes up the invention.
  • the ratio of a percentage mixture of fluorescent pigments and non-fluorescent pigments varies on the one hand depending on the individual colors or shades, the different substrates and on the other hand depending on the printing process used, for example the offset or screen printing process.
  • the printing inks can be described as follows: conventional basic colors and special colors in combination with organic pigments, fluorescent pigments and optically active substances, depending on the printing process, Depending on the basic color and special tones and depending on the substrates, organic pigments, fluorescent pigments and optically active substances are mixed in in different percentages.
  • a preferred guideline value for the ratio is given in that the pigment admixture to one kilogram of color is in the range from 0.5% to 5% for organic pigments, in the range from 15% to 80% for fluorescent pigments and optically active substances is in the range of 0.5% to 1%.
  • a photographically depicted western city silhouette is to be printed, with the back of a person depicted in the foreground.
  • This motif is produced in the four-color printing process using invisible, fluorescent printing inks and varnishes amount of ink applied in the print.
  • the adjustment is made taking into account the use of fluorescent dyes that do not comply with the Euroscale standard, preferably on sight.
  • the advertising surfaces which fluoresce by means of the proposed method can be produced for any purpose, including packaging that is used in the catering sector with UV lighting.
