Abstract

The divan has a monobloc fitting (1) having an upper section (2) which comprises a housing (3a,3b) for receiving the end of a lath. A lower section (4) has fitting anchoring means (5a,5b) on the divan frame. An intermediate section (6) connects the upper and lower sections and constitutes the elastic suspension. The housing is delimited by a vertical back (15) and a deformable peripheral wall (16). This wall has on its upper surface a transverse cut-out (17) for the introduction of a lath end into the housing by sliding it in an oblique direction.

Description

The invention relates to the field of the elastic suspension of slats of a slatted bed base.

It concerns more precisely a suspension device of slats of a bed base, of the type comprising a one-piece end piece presenting an upper section that includes at least one housing to accommodate the end of a slat, a lower section provided with anchoring means said tip on a bed frame, and an intermediate section connecting the upper section to the lower section and constituting the element of elastic suspension.

In general, the long sides of the frame are equipped with tenons, emerging on the internal faces of the frame and intended for cooperate with the anchoring means of the tip.

Traditionally, the housing ends of the slats consist of blind holes whose inlet is directed towards inside the bed frame. This provision causes difficulties during the assembly and disassembly of slats, as it is necessary to deform elastically either the end pieces or the slats for mounting or disassembly.

FR 2 738 471 proposed housing crossing from side to the tip, and caps covering the assembly consisting of a batten end and at least a portion of the upper section of the tip, each cap being intended to immobilize the end of the latte in his mouthpiece. To facilitate the introduction of the slat end in housing, this document provides a transverse slot that extends throughout the housing. The cap must prevent the transverse displacement of the lath in its housing. It is therefore necessary that the quick fastening means of the cap on the tip can withstand without damage the transverse forces exerted by slats.

FR 2 777 761 discloses another lath mouthpiece whose housing is constituted by a clip having a lower lamella on which rests the end of the slat, this slat having at its ends folds in the form of hooks that envelop the flanks of the slat and extend slightly on the top of the batten.

DE-19646633 discloses the preamble of claim 1.

The object of the invention is to propose a device such as mentioned in the introduction which allows easy assembly of the lath, and prevents any subsequent transverse displacement of the batten.

The device according to the invention is characterized in that the housing is delimited by a vertical bottom and by a peripheral wall deformable that extends horizontally from the bottom and whose section internal section is shaped to the section of a slat, and in that said wall peripheral present laterally on its upper face a notch cross-section adapted to allow the introduction of a lath end in said housing by sliding in an oblique direction.

Both ends of a slat are naturally inserted into same time in their respective homes.

Advantageously, the device further comprises a cap capable of capping at least the upper face and the lateral faces of the peripheral wall of the housing and means for quick fixing of the cap on the tip.

FIGS. 1 and 2 show a monobloc end-piece 1 conforming to the invention and made of an elastic material which has a section 2 having two housings 3a, 3b intended to each receive a batten end 40a, 40b shown only in FIG. lower 4 provided with anchoring means 5a, 5b on a bed frame, not shown in the drawings, and an intermediate section 6 connecting the upper section 2 to the lower section 4 and constituting the element of suspension.

The lower section 4 has two parallel bores 5a and 5b each intended to receive a screw or tenon, in order to allow the attachment of the tip 1 on the inner face of a long pan. These bores 5a and 5b, respectively arranged under the housings 3a and 3b, are formed in sleeves 6a and 6b connected by a bottom wall 7 and by a arched upper wall 8. The lower wall 7 has on its face a plurality of transverse lamellae 9 parallel to the bores 5a and 5b. The space 10 disposed between the bottom wall 7 and the arched top wall 8 can serve as housing at the end of a third batten. The transverse slats 9 then play the role dampers, because they can crash under the effect of the load. The lower wall 7 and the upper arched wall 8 are joined on the face external of the end piece 1 by a thin veil 11 having a central orifice 11a. This thin veil 11 serves as the bottom housing 10 of the end of the third batten and prevents the transverse displacement of the third lath. In this specification, the outer face of the tip 1 is referred to as visible face of the outside of the bed base, and is called internal face of the tip 1 the visible face of the interior of the bed. Similarly, we use the transversal adjective to designate a direction in the direction of the width of the mattress, and the adjective longitudinal to designate a direction in the meaning of the length of the bed base.

The intermediate section 6 comprises two sleeves 12a and 12b spaced and connected respectively to a sleeve 3a and 3b, and to one end of the arched upper wall 8.

Above each of the sleeves 12a and 12b is provided a plurality of vertical strips 13a and 13b. Each set of slats 13a or 13b supports a housing 3a, 3b. These dwellings 3a and 3b are arranged symmetrically with respect to a vertical median plane and transverse.

Each housing 3a or 3b has a cavity 14 delimited by a vertical outer bottom 15 and a peripheral wall 16 which extends parallel to the axis of the bores 5a, 5b from the bottom 15 and whose inner section is shaped to the section of a batten end.

As can be seen clearly in FIG. 1, the wall device 16 has laterally on its upper face 16a a transverse notch 17, delimited by two transverse lips 17a, 17b parallel to the axis of the bores 5a, 5b, and whose distance in the direction of the length of the bed base is calculated to allow introducing a lath end into the cavity 14 by sliding in an oblique direction. The peripheral wall 16 thus comprises a horizontal lower plate 18 connected to the upper ends lamellae 13a or 13b, two curved end walls 19a and 19b connected to the ends of the lower plate and intended for enclose the flanks of one end of batten; and an upper wall 20 connected to the upper end of the end wall 19b, and whose 17b lip is disposed opposite the lip 17a constituting the end upper end wall 19a. When passing from the end of latte by the notch 17, the upper wall 20 is deformed elastically, and the end wall 19a acts in the manner of a clip at the end of the introductory operation.

As can be seen in FIG. 2, the extreme lamellae of a set of slats 13a or 13b have a cutout 21 open on the outer face of the tip 1, and the lower plate 18 has, on its lower face in.regard of the cutout 21, a transverse groove 22. The upper wall 20 has on its upper face a plurality of longitudinal ribs 23. The function of the cutouts 21, grooves transverse 22 and longitudinal ribs 23 is to allow the guidance during assembly and immobilization of a cap 24 intended to cap the peripheral wall 16 of a housing 13a or 13b and described below.

FIG. 3 shows in perspective a cap 24. This cap 24 made by molding a thermoplastic material elastomer has an internal cavity 25 whose section according to a plane longitudinal vertical is conformed to the outer section of the wall 16. The inner cavity 25 is delimited by a wall upper portion 26 for covering an upper wall 20 and a notch 17, two curved side walls 27a, 27b for enclose two end walls 19a and 19b, and a bottom wall 28 which has an indentation 29, in which are housed the slats 13a or 13b except the extreme lamellae of a set of lamellae. Edges transverse lines of the indentation 29 have on their upper face a transverse rib 30 for housing in a corresponding groove 22 of the lower plate 18, and on their underside a groove transversal 31 in which is housed the upper end of a extreme lamella. The groove 31 is arranged facing a rib 30 and the thickness of the bottom wall 28 in this region is equal to the height of a cutout 21. The upper wall 26 has on its face lower transverse grooves not visible in Figure 3 in which are housed longitudinal ribs 23 of the wall peripheral 16, and on its upper face longitudinal ribs parallel 32 for retaining a mattress.

As can be seen in FIG. 3, the upper wall 26 of the cap 24 further has on the side of the orifice of the cavity 25 a crossbar 33 which partially closes the hole of the cavity 25 and which comes to position on the inner edge of the upper wall 20 of a housing 3a or 3b as shown in Figure 4.

Figure 5 clearly shows the cooperation of the ribs 29 with the grooves 22, grooves 30 with the upper edges of the extreme lamellae of a set of lamellae 13a or 13b and a rib longitudinal 23 with the corresponding groove of the upper wall 26 a hood 24.

The caps 24 terminate on the outer side of a bi-batten tip 1 by rounded tips 34 to give the whole a beautiful aesthetic appearance.

Claims (2)

1. Suspension device for the slats of a bed base of the type comprising a solid-cast end-piece (1) having an upper section (2) that comprises at least one housing (3a, 3b) for accommodating the end of a slat (40a, 40b), a lower section (4) provided with means (5a, 5b) for anchoring said end-piece (1) to the frame of a bed base, and an intermediate section (6) connecting the upper section (2) to the lower section (4) and constituting the elastic suspension member,
   the housing (3a, 3b) being delimited by a vertical bottom (15) and by a deformable peripheral wall (16) that extends horizontally from the bottom (15) and the inner section of which is shaped to the section of a slat, characterised by the fact that said peripheral wall (16) has laterally, on its upper face (16a), a transverse notch (17) adapted to allow the introduction of a slat end into said housing (3a, 3b) by sliding in an oblique direction.
2. Device according to Claim 1, characterised by the fact that it further comprises a cap (24) suitable for capping at least the upper face (16a) and the side faces (19a, 19b) of the peripheral wall (16) of the housing (3a, 3b) and means for rapidly fixing said cap (24) to the end-piece (1).
