Definitions

  • the invention relates to a windshield wiper drive with a pivotably mounted drive shaft, a drive rocker fixedly connected to it, a coupling rocker which is connected to the drive rocker by a drive joint, a support rocker which is connected to the coupling rocker by a support joint and is supported by a blind joint, one Windscreen wiper arm which is connected to the coupling rocker arm by a joint, a pressure spring which acts on the windscreen wiper arm relative to the coupling rocker arm, and a compensating joint which is arranged on one of the rockers.
  • Such a wiper drive is known from EP-A-0 182 123. It is used to move a wiper blade attached to the wiper arm with a reciprocating movement over a windshield to be cleaned.
  • the compensating joint is provided, which is arranged on the coupling rocker and divides it into two sections which can be moved relative to one another.
  • the disadvantage of this design is that the pressure spring has a tilting moment exerts on the coupling rocker, which leads to increased loads on the various bearings.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to develop a windshield wiper drive of the type mentioned in such a way that the tilting moment generated by the pressure spring does not impair the operation of the windshield wiper drive.
  • the windshield wiper drive with the features of claim 1 has the advantage that the compensating spring fully or at least partially compensates for the tilting moment that is generated by the pressure spring, so that the bearings of the coupling rocker are less loaded. This allows them to be made smaller, and the entire windshield wiper drive runs smoothly.
  • FIG. 1 is a schematic view of a wiper drive according to a first embodiment of the invention
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the drive rocker, the support rocker and the coupling rocker of the wiper drive of Figure 1;

  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the drive rocker, the support rocker and the coupling rocker of the windshield wiper drive of Figure 3;
  • a wiper drive according to a first embodiment is shown schematically in FIG. It contains a drive arm 10 which is mounted in a drive arm swivel joint 12 in a vehicle-fixed manner.
  • the drive rocker 10 can be made to move back and forth by a windshield wiper motor (not shown).
  • a coupling rocker 14 is connected to the drive rocker 10 by a drive joint 16.

  • the Stützschwin ⁇ e 18 is fixed to the vehicle by a blind joint 22, which is designed here as a swivel joint.
  • the support rocker 18 is provided with a compensating joint 24, the pivot axis of which is approximately perpendicular to the pivot axis defined by the blind joint 22.
  • the compensating joint 24 makes it possible to pivot the support joint 20 in a plane which is defined by the pivot axis of the blind joint 22 and the support joint 20.
  • a windshield wiper arm 26 is connected in a manner known per se, a windshield wiper arm swivel joint 28 and a pressure spring 30 being provided, so that a windshield wiper blade 32 attached to the windshield wiper arm 26 is pressed against a windshield to be cleaned

  • the compensating spring is arranged and dimensioned so that it has the tilting moment due to the compensating spring and the is exerted on the anti-secondary joint 16 on the windshield wiper blade 32 supporting the windshield, compensated, so the compensating spring generates a force acting on the support joint to the windshield
  • the compensating spring is integrated in the support rocker arm.
  • the force exerted by it on the support joint can be adjusted by the distance of the line of action of the compensating spring from the axis of the compensating joint 24 and by the spring force
  • FIGS. 3 and 4 show a windshield wiper drive according to a second embodiment.
  • the same reference numerals are used for the components known from the first embodiment, and reference is made to the above explanations
  • the second embodiment is also a five-joint mechanism.
  • the arrangement of the joints for the drive rocker and the support rocker is interchanged, so the support joint 20 is designed as a swivel joint, while the anti-secondary joint 16 is now also a ball joint now provide the drive rocker with the compensating joint 24 and the compensating spring 34.
  • FIG. 5 shows a windshield wiper drive according to a third embodiment.
  • the same reference numerals are used for the components which are known from the preceding embodiments, and reference is made to the above explanations.
  • the coupling rocker is provided with the compensating joint 24 and the compensating spring 34, so that the support joint is immediately relieved of the tilting moment which is generated by the pressure spring.
