Definitions
- the invention relates to a gas turbine with a rotor, a compressor part, a combustion chamber part and a turbine part, in the turbine part Guide vanes are attached to the housing and rotor blades to the rotor.
- the Guide and rotor blades are cooled by cooling air by passing the cooling air through Channels inside the blades is directed.
- the invention relates in particular a device for removing dirt particles from the cooling air flow, which avoids clogging of the channels in the blades.
- a Known method of blade cooling is air cooling, in which air from the Compressor of the gas turbine bypassing the combustion chambers in the Turbine part is directed. There the cooling air flows through channels inside the Shovels while cooling the shovels and then passes through Outlet openings in the gas flow of the turbine.
- air cooling In which air from the Compressor of the gas turbine bypassing the combustion chambers in the Turbine part is directed. There the cooling air flows through channels inside the Shovels while cooling the shovels and then passes through Outlet openings in the gas flow of the turbine.
- a common problem With this type of air cooling these channels become blocked Dirt particles that have entered the compressor from the ambient air or have formed in the machine and through the cooling air in the ducts and collect outlet openings of the blades.
- US Pat. Nos. 4,820,122 and 4,820,123 disclose two further devices for removing dirt particles from the cooling air flow of a moving blade.
- the rotor blades to be cooled have labyrinthine paths for the cooling air and a straight path for dirt particles that leads directly to an opening at the radially outer end of the blades.
- a baffle plate is attached to the entrances to the labyrinthine cooling air paths.
- the cooling air In order to get into the labyrinth-like cooling channels, the cooling air has to change direction strongly by flowing around the baffle plates. While clean cooling air or air with only very light particles can follow this change in direction, the heavier dirt particles cannot cope with the strong change in direction due to their moment of inertia.
- the present invention has for its object a device and a Process for removing dirt particles from the cooling air flow for a To create gas turbine blade, the cooling air flow is a relatively small Possesses speed.
- a supply line leads cooling air through the turbine housing to Turbine part.
- the rotor and guide vanes each have cooling channels, which through the inside of the blades. The cooling air flows through the cooling channels, cooling the blades and then entering the orifices through exit openings Gas flow from the turbine.
- the device for removing dirt particles in the cooling air flow is According to the invention arranged on a static part of the turbine and points a first and a second chamber, with a channel from the supply line for the cooling air leads to the first chamber. There is at least one air connection between the first and second chambers, the direction of this Air connection runs at an angle between 0 ° and 90 ° to the rotor axis, where an angle of 0 ° parallel to the rotor axis and an angle of 90 ° corresponds to a parallel to the tangent to the rotor circumference.
- the second chamber has two rows of outlets that are arranged on different radii with respect to the rotor.
- the first row of outlet openings is compared to the air connection from the first to the second chamber arranged radially further inside and leads to the entrance of the Cooling channels of the guide or rotor blades.
- the second row of outlets is radially wider compared to the connection from the first to the second chamber arranged outside and guides cooling air in the direction of the gas flow of the gas turbine.
- the cooling air is in the first chamber the device according to the invention collected and by a first Pressure drop accelerated from the first to the second chamber, the cooling air receives a speed component in the direction of the rotor circumference.
- dirt particles contained in the cooling air Centrifugal force is removed by the particles through the radially outer Exit openings from the second chamber and flow into the gas stream and the cleaned cooling air through the radially inner outlet openings from the second chamber for the entrance of the cooling channels of rotor blades or guide vanes arrives.
- the first chamber of the device serves to collect the cooling air from the compressor in a static part of the turbine at a given pressure.
- the cooling air flows through the one or more air connections to the second chamber and is thereby accelerated by the pressure drop between the two chambers, whereby due to the orientation of the connections it receives a speed component tangential to the rotor circumference.
- the second chamber is used to separate the dirt particles from the cooling air flow using centrifugal force.
- the cooling air flows partly tangential to the circumference of the rotor. This tangential acceleration gives the cooling air a radially outward velocity component, which drives the heavier dirt particles radially outward and the lighter and cleaner cooling air flows on a radially inner path.
- the rows of outlet openings on two different radii serve for the exit of the clean cooling air to guide or moving blades or the outlet of the dirt particles into the gas flow.
- the clean cooling air, separated from the dirt particles thus reaches the cooling channels of guide vanes or moving blades, while the dirt particles are driven directly into the gas flow and do not get into the cooling channels.
- the device for removing dirt particles is arranged on an inner housing part of the turbine.
- the first and second chambers of the device each extend over the entire circumference of the turbine.
- the device is in turn arranged on an inner housing part, the first and second chambers each consisting of several subchambers. These partial chambers each extend over a part of the housing circumference, together covering the entire circumference of the housing.
- the device is at the radially inner end of Turbine guide vanes arranged.
- the first and second chambers extend here in each case over part of the circumference of the guide vane row, for example via four guide vanes.
- the device again consists of several first and several second chambers or partial chambers, the together cover the entire circumference of the guide vane row.
- the number of radially inner outlet openings larger than the number of outlet openings arranged radially on the outside.
- the diameter of the radially inner outlet openings is smaller than the diameter of the radially outer outlet openings, where the latter at least equal to the diameter of those to be removed Is dirt particles.
- the radially outer outlet openings do not only serve that Leakage of dirt particles, but also the leakage of a cooling air flow that flows from the radially inner regions of the turbine to the gas stream and the Penetration of hot gases in the cooling channels of the blades counteracts.
- the wall in the second chamber is which lies opposite the air connections between the two chambers in which Direction of the cooling air flow and inclined radially outwards. This makes it easier Movement of the dirt particles in the radial direction to the radially outside arranged outlet openings.
- the wall in the first chamber is that which Air connections to the second chamber opposite, in the direction of Air connections to the second chamber inclined so that the cooling air flow, which in the first chamber flows in the direction of the air connections to the second Chamber is deflected.
- these outlet openings are at an angle radially with respect to the direction of flow within the second chamber aligned outside, whereby the clean cooling air flow the entrance to the Blade cooling channels better reached.
- FIG. 1 shows an inventive device for removing dirt particles from a cooling air flow for gas turbine blades.
- the device is arranged on a guide vane 1 which is fastened to the turbine housing (not shown).
- the axis 2 of the rotor of the gas turbine is also shown, which leads through the compressor, combustion chamber and turbine part and is fastened to the rotor blades, of which a rotor blade 3 is shown here.
- Cooling air is taken, for example, from the compressor part of the gas turbine and conducted via a line through the turbine housing into the turbine space, bypassing the combustion chamber part.
- Dirt particles that have entered the compressor from the ambient air or have arisen in the machine and are carried in the cooling air flow 4 are removed from the air flow in the device according to the invention, after which the cooling air flow is supplied to the cooling channels of the moving blade 3.
- the device extends over the entire circumference of the turbine, the device in the embodiment shown here consisting of several sections, of which a section extends, for example, over 2 to 4 guide vanes.
- the cooling air flow 4 is fed to a duct 5 which carries the Guide blade 1 passes in the longitudinal direction and in the inventive Device opens.
- the cooling air flow 4 is first in a first chamber 6 the device is collected in order to be deflected there approximately in the axial direction become.
- the first chamber 6 has an inclined wall 7.
- a second Chamber 8 is located approximately in the axial direction next to the first chamber 6.
- One or more openings air connections 9 lead from the first chamber 6 to the second chamber 8. These connections 9 are with respect to the rotor axis 2 aligned at an angle ⁇ that is between 0 ° and 90 °.
- Figure 2 shows in a diagram shows the orientation of the air connections 9.
- the rotor axis denoted by x
- a radial direction denoted by y.
- the air connections 9 are thereby in the tangential plane to the rotor (perpendicular to the xy plane).
- This Alignment and a pressure drop between the first chamber 6 and second Chamber 8 causes an acceleration of the cooling air flow 2 in tangential Direction with respect to the rotor.
- the moves within the second chamber 8 Cooling air flow 4 thus in the circumferential direction.
- Cooling air flow 4 is a radially outward speed component.
- a centrifugal force acts on the inside of the second chamber 8 Cooling air flow 4 through which a separation of dirt particles from the Cooling air flow 4 is reached.
- Cooling air 10 flows with heavier dirt particles radially outward in the second chamber.
- the cooling air flow with dirt particles 10 passes to or several outlet openings 12.
- wall 11, which lies opposite the air connections 9 in the direction of the outlet openings 12 inclined, which directs the cooling air flow with dirt particles to the Outlet openings is further supported. There he exits through the openings Guide blade 1 out and continues radially outward into the gas stream.
- the clean cooling air 13 flows with no or only light dirt particles, however, on a smaller radius and reaches the radially inner end of the chamber to several small outlet openings 14. There it emerges from the guide vane 1 and flows into the inlet 15 to the cooling channels Blade 3 too. A pressure drop across these outlet openings 14 enables a deflection and acceleration of the clean cooling air flow 13 in the axial Direction, which minimizes turbine power losses.
- the outlet openings 14 are with respect to the circumferential direction of the rotor is oriented at an angle ⁇ .
- the diagram in Figure 2 shows a Example of the alignment of these outlet openings 14.
- the size of the angle ⁇ is varied according to the design of the blade to be cooled, in particular according to the orientation of the cooling channels and their entrances and the pressure conditions in the cooling channels.
- the air connections or openings 9 between the first chamber 6 and the second chamber 8 of the device are oriented at an angle ⁇ with respect to the rotor axis 2.
- the size of this angle ⁇ is chosen based on the available pressure drop. The greater the pressure drop, the more the air flow can be deflected in the direction of the circumferential direction.
- the number and the diameter of the openings 9 are determined as a result of the pressure drop between the two chambers.
- the openings 9 for the cooling air flow 4 are located on a radius R1 approximately in the middle of the second chamber 6.
- the outlet openings 12 from the second chamber for the cooling air 10 with dirt particles are arranged on a radius R2, where R2> R1.
- outlet openings have a diameter of 2-3 mm, for example, to allow even the largest dirt particles to pass through.
- the outlet openings 12 serve on the one hand to remove dirt particles. On the other hand, they also cause a radially outward air flow from the radially inner regions to the gas flow, as a result of which the flow of hot gases into the cooling air channels of the rotor blades is prevented.
- the outlet openings 14 for the clean cooling air 13 are on a radius R3 arranged, where R3 ⁇ R1. This ensures that no dirt particles directly from the air connections 9 through the outlet openings 14 and into the Cooling channels arrive. These outlet openings 14 are compared to those for the dirt particles much smaller in diameter, but much larger in theirs Number. For example, there are 2-3 outlet openings for clean guide vanes Cooling air available.

Abstract
