  • the various receiver and transmitter components and electrical circuitry used in the TV remote control system of the invention can be adapted for monaural, high fidelity stereo, or any other sound reproduction scheme of the audio signal. It should be further understood that these various receiver and transmitter components and electrical circuitry are well known in the art and are commercially available. Therefore, detailed descriptions of these components and electrical circuitry are unnecessary and have not been provided. Additionally, the receiver for receiving audio signal portions of signals carrying television channels can be embodied as any conventional video recording and/or reproduction device such as a digital video disk (DVD) that is capable of being modified or adapted to selectively transmit the audio signal portions of signals carrying television channels to the remote control. While the foregoing invention has been described with reference to the above embodiments, various modifications and changes can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. Accordingly, all such modifications and changes are considered to be within the scope of the appended claims.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de télécommande de téléviseur pourvu d'un récepteur qui reçoit des parties de signaux audio des signaux portant des canaux télévisuels, un émetteur audio qui émet la partie du signal audio d'un canal choisi parmi ceux reçus par le récepteur, et une télécommande du fonctionnement du récepteur permettant de choisir la partie du signal audio du canal voulu à émettre par l'émetteur, ainsi que du fonctionnement du téléviseur. La télécommande comprend un récepteur audio conçu pour la réception sans fil de la partie du signal audio du canal choisi émis par l'émetteur, et un haut-parleur qui convertit ladite partie en son. Le système permet, à l'aide de la télécommande, d'écouter la partie du signal audio de tout canal choisi par le biais du haut-parleur sans changer le canal sélectionné sur le téléviseur associé.
