Description
- L'invention concerne un écran à la lumière telle que défini par les revendications.
- Toutefois, bien que plus particulièrement prévues pour de telles applications, les feuilles de bois conformes à l'invention pourront être utilisées de manière plus générale.
- Actuellement, dans le domaine du travail du bois, il est connu d'employer des troncs d'arbres en les débarrassant de leurs extrémités et de leurs écorces pour constituer des pièces de bois, appelées billes.
- On procède ensuite à la séparation des parties présentant des défauts du bois et on découpe les parties restantes en minces feuilles pour les applications souhaitées.
- On constate que de telles solutions génèrent une grande quantité de chutes induisant un faible rendement de matière. En outre, les décors obtenus grâce au veinage du bois restent peu variés.
- Des solutions pour l'utilisation des chutes ont déjà été proposées. Il s'agit soit de les employer comme matériaux de chauffage, soit de les transformer en produits présentant une valeur ajoutée supérieure mais qui nécessitent alors du personnel et du matériel supplémentaires. Le coût de revient de l'ensemble des opérations est ainsi élevé.

US-A-5,605,765 . - L'invention sera mieux comprise à la lecture de la description suivante, accompagnée des dessins en annexe qui en font partie intégrante et parmi lesquels :

figure 1 décrit, en perspective, un exemple de billes de bois utilisées dans le procédé de fabrication conforme à l'invention, - la
figure 2 illustre en vue de face un premier exemple de mise en oeuvre du procédé conforme à l'invention, - la
figure 3 illustre en vue de face un autre exemple de mise en oeuvre du procédé conforme à l'invention. - L'invention concerne tout d'abord un procédé de fabrication de feuilles de bois naturel.
- Comme illustré aux différentes figures, selon le procédé conforme à l'invention, on prévoit une bille de bois 1, obtenue à partir d'un tronc d'arbre, présentant des défauts 2 du bois, en surface ou même à coeur.
- Toutes les essences de bois voulues pourront être utilisées. On pourra employer, par exemple, du bouleau, du charme, du châtaignier, du chêne, du cyprès, de l'érable, du figuier, du frêne, du hêtre, du micocoulier, du noisetier, du noyer, de l'olivier, de l'orne, du peuplier, du pin, du pommier, du sapin, du saule, du sorbier, du tilleul ou autres.
- Quant aux défauts, il pourra s'agir aussi bien, par exemple, d'altérations dans le veinage et/ou la coloration du bois ou de marques telles que celles connues de l'homme du métier sous le nom de lunure, roulure, gélivure, piqûre, gerce, gale, cannelure ou autres.
- Selon l'invention, on découpe lesdites feuilles 3 dans ladite bille 1 en conservant lesdits défauts 2.
- On peut ainsi obtenir des décors indéfiniment renouvelés, grâce aux défauts du bois, ceci au sein du même processus. En outre, on limite la quantité de chutes produites.
- Selon un mode de réalisation avantageux, on séparera les parties sans défaut 4 de la bille 1 de ses parties avec défaut 5. On peut ainsi obtenir simultanément, dans les parties sans défaut 4, des feuilles de bois disponibles pour les applications connues telles que le placage, et, dans les parties avec défaut 5, des feuilles de bois disponibles pour de nouvelles applications.
- Selon un premier mode de réalisation, on effectue ladite séparation préalablement à la découpe desdites feuilles 3 notamment en séparant lesdites billes en trois parties, une centrale et deux extrémales, les défauts étant généralement situés dans les parties extrémales des billes, puis en découpant lesdites parties extrémales.
- Selon un autre mode de réalisation, on découpe lesdites feuilles de bois dans la bille 1 conservée entière et, éventuellement, on sépare les parties sans défaut des parties avec défaut.
- Comme illustré à la
figure 2 , on réalise la découpe, par exemple, par tranchage, c'est-à-dire, par découpage de la bille 1 dans des plans parallèles à l'axe longitudinal de ladite bille 1, selon la flèche repérée 6. - Selon un autre mode de réalisation, illustré à la
figure 3 , on réalise la découpe par déroulage, c'est-à-dire, en faisant pivoter la bille 1 autour de son axe longitudinal, selon la flèche repérée 7. - A ce sujet, les moyens de coupe employés pour ladite opération de déroulage pourront éventuellement être orientés de façon inclinée par rapport à l'axe longitudinal desdites billes. Il sera ainsi possible d'obtenir des feuilles de bois présentant une forme sensiblement conique et/ou tronconique, notamment avantageuse pour la confection d'abat-jour.
- Les opérations de découpe sont effectuées, éventuellement, sur dosse, c'est-à-dire sur des billes 1 préalablement découpée radialement, par exemple, en quatre parties.
- Plus largement, on pourra entendre par « découpage » toutes opérations de sciage ou autres.
- Avant découpage, ladite bille 1 pourra être trempée.
- Après découpage, lesdites feuilles de bois 3 sont, notamment, mises à plat, séchées, massicotées et/ou empilées. Leur transport sera ainsi facilité.
- Pour ce qui est du massicotage, son rôle sera d'égaliser les bords de chacune des feuilles et non, comme cela était le cas dans les procédés antérieurement connus, de systématiquement éliminer les défauts du bois restant.
- L'invention concerne également les feuilles de bois naturel obtenues selon le procédé décrit plus haut. Elles pourront présenter une épaisseur, par exemple, de 5 à 10 dixièmes de millimètres, notamment en fonction des essences de bois, par exemple 5/10ème , 6/10ème ou 7/10ème de millimètres.
- L'invention concerne encore un article décoratif et/ou utilitaire constitué d'une telle feuille de bois et d'une feuille de matériau support fixée sur l'une de ses faces. Il pourra s'agir, par exemple, d'une feuille de matériaux synthétiques, tels que, notamment, polyphane, de tissus ou autres matières. Ladite feuille est éventuellement transparente ou translucide.
- L'invention concerne aussi une application de telles feuilles de bois et/ou de tels articles à la fabrication d'écrans à la lumière. Il pourra ainsi s'agir d'abat-jour. Lesdites feuilles de bois pourront encore être associées à un support en verre derrière lequel il sera possible de disposer une source lumineuse de façon à constituer une lampe décorative.
- D'autres applications pourront encore être envisagés tels que des matériaux d'emballages, notamment pour compositions florales.
- Selon de telles applications, lesdites feuilles de bois et/ou lesdits articles sont utilisées, tels quels. On peut ainsi se servir de leur souplesse et de leur transparence.
Claims (3)
- Ecran à la lumière comportant une feuille de bois d'épaisseur comprise entre 5 et 10 dixièmes de mm, découpée à partir d'une bille de Bois présentant des défauts de manière apparente, la dite of feuille de Bois étant fixée sur une de ses faces sur une feuille de matériau support en matériau synthétique transparent ou translucide ou sur un support en verre.
- Ecran à la lumière selon la revendication (1) caracterisé en ce qu'il s'agit d'un abat-jour.
- Ecran à la lumière selon la revendication (1) dans lequel la feuille synthétique est en polyphane ou tissus.
