- the invention relates to a locked closure Breech head and breech carrier for a self-loading handgun, with a resilient locking ring with a longitudinal slot, which surrounds a section of the closure head, when the lock is unlocked and expanded between the closure head and an end face of the closure carrier supports, however, when the lock is locked is compressed in the circumferential direction and into one Annulus between the closure head and the closure carrier enough, according to the preamble of the claim 1.
- German patent DE 197 13 988 C1 the applicant has described a breech for a self-loading handgun.
- the closure is made of a rotatable Breech head and a breech carrier constructed.
- the lock head After Moving back during the following Return is not guided in the longitudinal grooves of the weapon housing, but instead using a locking ring held a fixed distance from the closure carrier.
- the present documents contain location descriptions like "front”, "top” or the like used. These labels relate to a location of the handgun, which they do when shooting horizontally in the usual range occupies, i.e. with a horizontal soul axis (running center axis) and usually with horizontally movable Closure.
- the locking ring is one that is longitudinally divided by a longitudinal slot Spring sheet metal sleeve. In a loaded state, if the locking ring is compressed radially, is the longitudinal slot compressed in the circumferential direction and the locking ring has an annular cross section. In unpolluted Condition the locking ring expands resiliently The longitudinal slot is open and the locking ring has the cross-section like an open oval.
- the closure head has one at its front end Wreath of locking lugs on that in the circumferential direction are distributed, similar to the US rapid-fire rifle M16. In unlocked state, this wreath of locking lugs a distance from the closure carrier. The Sperring is then unloaded and surrounds the back pointing shaft of the breech head. The supports Locking itself against the back end of the wreath and the front end face of the closure carrier and prevented thus further penetration of the shaft into the Bolt carrier.
- annular space surrounding the shaft is formed as soon as the shaft has penetrated the closure carrier.
- the rear end of the locking ring sits on the front end face of the closure carrier, into which the annular space also opens, but cannot penetrate into this annular space because the unloaded locking ring has a non-circular cross-section or because no annular space has yet been created is formed.

- the shaft with the locking ring surrounding it can now be used easily penetrate into the closure carrier, whereby the annulus completely or only partially the locking ring receives. The lock is locked.
- the object of the invention is to eliminate these faults.
- the invention proposes to solve the above Task before assigning funds to the Sperring, the one free oscillation in the radial direction, i.e. a periodic opening and closing of the longitudinal slot, obstructed (Characteristic of claim 1).
- the invention is based on the assumption that the Cause of the above disturbances vibrations of the Locking rings are, which this with open longitudinal slot in Circumferential direction and which cause him to "breathe", that is, to alternately expand and contract. If the locking ring is excited rhythmically, for example by Continuous fire, then he can rock up to vibrations, which periodically close the longitudinal slot and again to open. If one with the longitudinal slot closed Longitudinal force acting on the closure can actually the locking ring penetrate into the annular space.
- the solution according to the invention leads to a damping of the Vibration and reduces its amplitude. You prevented in other words, that the longitudinal slot is under the Excitation occurs so far that the locking ring can enter the annulus.
- the inventive means for disability free Vibrations of the locking ring can result in an increased spring constant of the locking ring include, for example, by using a thicker spring steel sheet than building material. Indeed a correspondingly greater force must then also be applied to lock the lock. Further it would be possible, at least through webs, grooves, etc. in the rear area of the locking ring vibration knot too generate, which reduce the vibration amplitude there. Also by an odd or diagonal Longitudinal slit can achieve such an effect. Indeed is a corresponding one for the locking ring in these cases Construction effort required. A coating of the Locking rings would come with a vibration-damping material also considered, such as in the form of a ring bent Bimetallic strip.

In German patent DE 197 13 988 C1 the applicant has described a breech for a self-loading handgun. The closure is made of a rotatable Breech head and a breech carrier constructed. At the Unlocking the lock is the lock head after Moving back during the following Return is not guided in the longitudinal grooves of the weapon housing, but instead using a locking ring held a fixed distance from the closure carrier.
The content of this German patent is by reference expressly in the present documents as a revelation recorded with.
Furthermore, the present documents contain location descriptions like "front", "top" or the like used. These labels relate to a location of the handgun, which they do when shooting horizontally in the usual range occupies, i.e. with a horizontal soul axis (running center axis) and usually with horizontally movable Closure.
The locking ring is one that is longitudinally divided by a longitudinal slot Spring sheet metal sleeve.
The closure head has one at its front end Wreath of locking lugs on that in the circumferential direction are distributed, similar to the US rapid-fire rifle M16.
Between the breech head shaft and the breech carrier an annular space surrounding the shaft is formed as soon as the shaft has penetrated the closure carrier.
As already described, in the unlocked state the rear end of the locking ring sits on the front end face of the closure carrier, into which the annular space also opens, but cannot penetrate into this annular space because the unloaded locking ring has a non-circular cross-section or because no annular space has yet been created is formed.
The cross section of the unloaded locking ring can also be round. When the locking ring is not loaded, the outside diameter of the locking ring is then larger than the outside diameter of the annular space.
When the closure is closed, it dips into a known one Way with its locking warts between tabs through, which is fixed to the housing of the weapon are. The locking ring strikes against beveled Trailing edges of the protrusions and is thereby compressed radially. Now the locking ring lies with circular cross-section around the shaft of the breech head close and lies with its rear end exactly opposite the front confluence of the annulus. The shaft with the locking ring surrounding it can now be used easily penetrate into the closure carrier, whereby the annulus completely or only partially the locking ring receives. The lock is locked.
When unlocking the lock carrier moves opposite the breech head backwards and gives the front Section of the breech head shaft and thus the locking ring free. The locking ring then springs into its unloaded Position and ensures that the distance between Closure head and closure carrier in the further Rewind and fast forward are retained until the shutter is closed again is locked.
In experiments, this known closure has been outstanding proven. Through him it has become possible to build to simplify the closure housing considerably, because this no longer has to guide the locking head. In in extremely rare cases, however, it can sometimes lead to disturbances came. These consisted of the locking ring even in the unloaded, expanded state in the annulus has arrived.
The object of the invention is to eliminate these faults.
Here it would make sense to use the outer diameter of the unloaded Expand locking rings before installation. Then however, greater forces would have to be used to compress the Sperringes are accepted, which in turn the Function of the weapon. additionally or instead the rear face of the Locking ring and the front face of the closure carrier be ground flat to avoid bevels, which prevents the locking ring from entering the Could ease annulus. It could also be the axial Length of the locking ring to be tolerated more closely to avoid that the locking ring tilts. These structural measures are expensive, however.
In contrast, the invention proposes to solve the above Task before assigning funds to the Sperring, the one free oscillation in the radial direction, i.e. a periodic opening and closing of the longitudinal slot, obstructed (Characteristic of claim 1).
The invention is based on the assumption that the Cause of the above disturbances vibrations of the Locking rings are, which this with open longitudinal slot in Circumferential direction and which cause him to "breathe", that is, to alternately expand and contract. If the locking ring is excited rhythmically, for example by Continuous fire, then he can rock up to vibrations, which periodically close the longitudinal slot and again to open. If one with the longitudinal slot closed Longitudinal force acting on the closure can actually the locking ring penetrate into the annular space.
The solution according to the invention leads to a damping of the Vibration and reduces its amplitude. You prevented in other words, that the longitudinal slot is under the Excitation occurs so far that the locking ring can enter the annulus.
The inventive means for disability free Vibrations of the locking ring can result in an increased spring constant of the locking ring include, for example, by using a thicker spring steel sheet than building material.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention (Claims 2 and 3) remains however the ring the well-known lock ring largely unchanged and will only slightly extended, because the formation of the locking rings is already optimized with regard to the closure function. The annulus will be at the end that in the End face of the closure carrier opens to a short Bore section that extends the rear end of the locking ring when it relaxes, i.e. expands. The diameter of this hole section is so much larger than that of the rest of the annulus, that the locking ring with widened longitudinal slot may be included, but not or not significantly can swing apart over its target position. A harmful one So vibration cannot build up in the locking ring. The bore section is centered at the same time also the locking ring so that it is not an off-center location can take, which an undesirable sliding into could favor the annulus.
It would also be possible to have an annular groove like the extension of the bore section not on the rear, but on to form the front end of the section surrounded by the locking ring, So in the rear surfaces of locking lugs.
However, this "outward" attack does not necessarily have to be be arranged on the closure carrier, but can are also on the breech head.
Extensive tests have shown that the extended Bore section together with the extended locking ring in any case a completely trouble-free function of the closure guaranteed.
The locking ring is preferably seated with a slight pressure the wall of the bore section in this (claim 4). This also results in a longitudinal vibration braked in the axial direction of the locking ring and thus steamed.
The rear part of the closure head is preferably divided into a front section that has the inside diameter of the annular space around which the locking ring is arranged is, as well as a rear section, the outer diameter corresponds to that of the annulus and is suitable, but slidably in a hole in the closure carrier sits (claim 5). This hole is on hers Junction in the front face of the closure carrier enlarged and thus forms the bore section according to the invention. The annulus is thus only through penetration of the rear part of the breech head into the Bore made in the fastener carrier. When unlocked There is only a narrow ring groove between the inner wall of the bore section and the outer wall of the front Section of the rear part of the closure head in front. The rear end of the locking ring sits in this ring groove.

The locking lugs run when the lock is closed

Now the
