Definitions
- the invention relates to a forward and reverse brake for an automatic firearm, with a gun carriage and a gun housing, which is mounted on the gun carriage displaceably back and forth from an initial position, with at least two ring spring assemblies arranged one behind the other, the return energy being damped by both ring spring assemblies is and the flow energy is only damped by a ring spring assembly and the ring spring assemblies have a steeper spring characteristic when compressed than when relaxing.
- CH-PS No. 497678 describes a device for damping the forward and return energy on an automatic firearm, which is mounted in a carriage that can be moved forwards and backwards from a starting position , with two ring spring assemblies arranged one behind the other, of which the first spring assembly for absorbing the forward energy and the first and second together for absorbing the return energy are arranged in series, these annular spring assemblies having a steeper spring characteristic when compressed than when relaxing.
- This known device does not guarantee a floating bearing of the weapon, because when ring springs are used exclusively, the spread of the hysteresis is too large when the spring rings are at a small angle, or the hysteresis is too small when the spring rings are at a large angle.
- CH-PS No. 427576 is an automatic firearm described, with a lock housing mounted on a carrier so that it can move backwards and a damping device acting between the housing and the carrier.
- This damping device is provided with a liquid brake, which is effective against a rest position when the weapon is advanced.
- the damping device is provided with a buffer element that elastically catches the forward of the weapon. Buffer element and fluid brake are arranged in series. The buffer element dampens the transmission of the impact that occurs when the breech strikes the breech housing and when the weapon advances to the carrier.
- This known device has the disadvantage of any liquid brake, it depends on the temperature of the liquid, so that reliable operation is not guaranteed at every temperature.
- the device according to the invention in that, in addition to the two ring spring assemblies arranged one behind the other, there is also a third, pre-tensioned spring which can be compressed when the weapon is advanced and which relaxes when the weapon returns, the pre-tension being dimensioned in this way that spring forces acting in the opposite direction during the entire return of the weapon act on it.
- the third is preferably supported, both in the forward and in the return of the weapon spring with its front end on a flange of the mount and with its rear end on a shoulder of the weapon housing.
- the spring characteristic of the two ring spring assemblies arranged one behind the other preferably increases progressively.
- the device has the advantage of ensuring a good floating bearing of the weapon in the event of series fire and of preventing the weapon from colliding with the mount in the event of malfunctions.
- the forward and return device of a firearm consists of a movable and a fixed part.
- the movable part is attached to the weapon and the fixed part is attached to the carriage.
- Only a part of the weapon housing 10 is shown and a rod 11 is fastened to the mount (not shown) by means of a bolt 12.
- a spacer 14 is fastened with the aid of a nut 13.
- the spacer 14 has two flanges 15 and 16.
- a sleeve 17 is supported on the upper flange 15 and a displaceable ring 18 is supported on the lower flange 16, both the sleeve 17 and the ring 18 in the direction of arrow A , the firing direction of the weapon, supported on the flanges 15 and 16 of the spacer 14.
- a second sleeve 19 is supported on the ring 18 in the opposite direction and is fastened to the weapon housing 10 with the aid of a thread 20. These second sleeve 19 is slidably guided in the first sleeve 17. So that the second sleeve 19 cannot rotate in the weapon housing 10, a fuse 21 is provided.
- This fuse 21 consists of a spring-loaded pin 22 in a bore in the weapon housing 10, which engages in recesses 23 of the second sleeve 19 and secures it against unintentional rotation.
- a helical spring 24 which is supported with its front end on a flange 26 of the first sleeve 17 and which is supported with its rear end on a shoulder 25 of the second sleeve 19.
- This helical spring 24 tends to push the weapon back, that is, in the opposite direction to the arrows A.
- a sleeve 27 is supported on the one hand on a shoulder 28 of the fixed rod 11 and on the other hand on a shoulder 29 of the movable weapon housing 10.
- a first ring spring assembly 32 is arranged between the two sleeves 27 and 30.
- a second ring spring assembly 33 is arranged between the two sleeves 30 and 31, and a third ring spring assembly 34 is arranged between the sleeve 31 and the ring 18.
- a fourth ring spring assembly 35 is arranged parallel to the second ring spring assembly 33 between the two sleeves 30 and 31.
- the first ring spring assembly 32 can only be compressed until the upper end of the sleeve 27 abuts the lower end of the sleeve 30.
- the third ring spring assembly 34 can only be compressed until the sleeve 19 abuts a shoulder 36 of the sleeve 31.
- the two ring spring assemblies 33 and 35 arranged parallel to one another can be fully compressed until the individual rings of the ring spring assemblies 33, 35 abut one another, if not, a stop (not shown) is provided to prevent this.
- the sleeve 31 has a flange 37, with which it is supported on a shoulder 38 of the weapon housing 10. These ring spring assemblies 32-35 have that Try to advance the weapon in the direction of arrow A.
- the weapon Since the weapon still has kinetic energy at point A1 when it reaches its starting position, it will advance to point El. In this advance, the shoulder 29 of the housing 10 is pushed against the sleeve 27 and the shoulder 38 of the housing 10 is pushed against the sleeve 31. Thus, the two sleeves 27 and 31 simultaneously move forward by the same amount and the ring spring assembly 32 is not compressed, but only the ring spring assembly 34 is compressed. Therefore, the force increases relatively steeply from A to E at. As soon as the weapon has reached the foremost position E, this force drops without shifting the weapon to the value E2, since energy is lost again due to friction. The weapon then arrives at position A1 in its starting position, the energy falling to the value A2.
- the compression stroke a of the first ring spring assembly 34 will be smaller than the compression stroke b of the second ring spring assembly 32.
- the spring characteristic F of the third spring 24 is relatively flat.
Abstract
The forward and reverse brake of an automatic firearm should ensure a floating bearing of the weapon in series fire, it should be independent of the friction that occurs with ring spring assemblies and causes a spread of the hysteresis and furthermore it should be independent of the viscosity of the liquid of a liquid brake, since large temperature fluctuations must be taken into account with weapons. In addition to the usual ring spring assemblies (34, or 32, 33, 35), a third, pre-tensioned spring (24), which is designed as a coil spring, is arranged parallel to these, which can be compressed during the advance and relaxes when the weapon returns to increase the hysteresis of the ring spring assemblies (32-35). The ring spring assembly (32-35) preferably has a progressive spring characteristic.
Description
The invention relates to a forward and reverse brake for an automatic firearm, with a gun carriage and a gun housing, which is mounted on the gun carriage displaceably back and forth from an initial position, with at least two ring spring assemblies arranged one behind the other, the return energy being damped by both ring spring assemblies is and the flow energy is only damped by a ring spring assembly and the ring spring assemblies have a steeper spring characteristic when compressed than when relaxing.
Facilities of this type are known in large numbers. It is therefore only referred to the most important in the following: CH-PS No.
This known device does not guarantee a floating bearing of the weapon, because when ring springs are used exclusively, the spread of the hysteresis is too large when the spring rings are at a small angle, or the hysteresis is too small when the spring rings are at a large angle.
For the floating storage of a firearm, it is known to use a liquid brake. In CH-PS No. 427576 is an automatic firearm described, with a lock housing mounted on a carrier so that it can move backwards and a damping device acting between the housing and the carrier. This damping device is provided with a liquid brake, which is effective against a rest position when the weapon is advanced. Furthermore, the damping device is provided with a buffer element that elastically catches the forward of the weapon. Buffer element and fluid brake are arranged in series. The buffer element dampens the transmission of the impact that occurs when the breech strikes the breech housing and when the weapon advances to the carrier.
This known device has the disadvantage of any liquid brake, it depends on the temperature of the liquid, so that reliable operation is not guaranteed at every temperature.
- 1. After the first shot of a series fire, the weapon should be reliably floating,
- 2. At the same time, in the event of a malfunction of the weapon, it should be prevented that large forces are transferred from the movably mounted weapon to the stationary carriage.
This object is achieved by the device according to the invention in that, in addition to the two ring spring assemblies arranged one behind the other, there is also a third, pre-tensioned spring which can be compressed when the weapon is advanced and which relaxes when the weapon returns, the pre-tension being dimensioned in this way that spring forces acting in the opposite direction during the entire return of the weapon act on it. The third is preferably supported, both in the forward and in the return of the weapon spring with its front end on a flange of the mount and with its rear end on a shoulder of the weapon housing. The spring characteristic of the two ring spring assemblies arranged one behind the other preferably increases progressively.
The device has the advantage of ensuring a good floating bearing of the weapon in the event of series fire and of preventing the weapon from colliding with the mount in the event of malfunctions.
A preferred embodiment of the forward and reverse brake according to the invention is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing.
- 1 shows a longitudinal section through the entire forward and reverse brake,
- 2 shows a working diagram of the forward and reverse brake shown in FIG.
According to Figure 1, the forward and return device of a firearm according to the invention consists of a movable and a fixed part. The movable part is attached to the weapon and the fixed part is attached to the carriage. Only a part of the
- When firing a shot, the weapon moves back through the recoil. Thus, the
weapon housing 10 moves from the position shown, opposite to the direction of arrow A. Thesleeve 19 attached to theweapon housing 10 moves relative to the rod 11, also opposite to the direction of arrow A. This displacement of thesleeve 19 relative to the rod 11 thering 18 is also displaced and thering spring assembly 34 is compressed. Thesleeve 19 approaches theshoulder 36 on thesleeve 31. At the same time, thespring 24 will relax, since thesleeve 17 does not move and therefore the distance between theshoulder 25 of thesleeve 19 and theflange 26 of thesleeve 17 increases. Thespring 24 preloaded in the starting position of the weapon will thus relax. Since the two 31 and 30 are also slidably guided on the rod 11, the compression of thesleeves ring spring assembly 34 also displaces thesleeve 31 and thering spring assembly 33 and 35 is compressed. Correspondingly, the compression of thering spring assemblies 33, 35 also displaces thesleeve 30 and compresses thering spring assembly 32. Since thesleeve 27 is supported on theshoulder 28 of the rod 11, it cannot move when the weapon returns. Thus, when thering spring assembly 34 is compressed, thesleeve 19 will move against theshoulder 36 of thesleeve 31 and finally touch it. As soon as the two 19 and 31 touch, thesleeves ring spring assembly 34 can no longer compress itself more. As long as all ring spring assemblies 32-35 can be compressed, the force increases from value A to value B when the weapon returns from position A1 to position B1, ie the spring characteristic is still relatively flat. Subsequently, will only still compress the 32, 33 and 35, so when the weapon returns from position B1 to position Cl the force will increase more and reach value C, ie the spring characteristic is somewhat steeper. At this point C, thering spring assemblies sleeve 30 will touch thesleeve 27 and thering spring assembly 32 can no longer compress itself more. If the weapon moves further back, for example in the event of a malfunction, only thering spring assemblies 33 and 35 arranged in parallel will compress, so when the weapon returns from the point Cl to the point Dl the force will increase even more and the value D to reach. A further return is no longer possible since thering spring assemblies 33 and 35 are then completely compressed or the weapon has hit a stop. Since part of the energy from the ring spring assemblies is consumed by friction, the force then drops to the value D2. When the weapon advances from position D1 to position Cl, the force first drops steeply to value C2, since only thering spring assemblies 33 and 35 relax. When the weapon is shifted from the point Cl to the point B1, the force drops to the value B2 less steeply, since, in addition to thering spring assemblies 33 and 35, thering spring assembly 32 also relaxes and when the weapon is shifted from the position B1 to the position A1 the force drops even less steeply to the value A2, since all 32, 33, 34 and 35 will now relax.ring spring assemblies
Since the weapon still has kinetic energy at point A1 when it reaches its starting position, it will advance to point El. In this advance, the
Daraus ergibt sich die gestrichelte Linie unterhalb des Linienzuges A,B,C,D,D2,C2,B2,A2.So far, only the forces of the ring spring assemblies 32-35 have been taken into account in the description of the mode of operation and not the force of the
Daraus ergibt sich die gestrichelte Linie oberhalb des Linienzuges A,E,E2,A2.When the weapon advances beyond its initial position, the
It can be seen from FIG. 2 that the force on the advance drops to a third of the force on the return, in other words, the forces A2, B2, C2 and D2 are approximately one third of the forces A, B, C and D, on the other hand, when the force of the
S inally be noted that by a
Preferably, the compression stroke a of the first
