Blower (10), with an electric motor (52), on the drive shaft (40) of which is seated a radial rotor (30), the blower housing (14) of the said blower having, in an end-face wall (20), an inlet port (24), through which air is sucked in and to which is connected a sound damper (12), the housing (16) of which is fastened to the blower housing (14) by means of fastening elements, a common end wall (20) being formed between the housing (16) and the blower housing (14) by a disc (20) which has a central inlet port (24) and which is tension-mounted between the sound damper (12) and the blower housing (14) and delimits the space (28) for the rotor (30), characterized in that the disc (20) is punched from sheet metal and the inlet port (24) is of funnel-shaped configuration and has an integrally moulded collar (26) which projects into the space (28) for the rotor (30), the diameter of the inlet port (24) and the radius on the integrally moulded collar (26) being adapted to the optimum operating point of the blower (10).
  2. Blower (10) according to Claim 1, characterized in that the sheet-metal disc (20) lies in a clearance (32) of the blower housing (14) and is guided on the outside diameter (48) of the said clearance.
  3. Blower (10) according to Claim 2, characterized in that the housing (16) of the sound damper (12) has, on its side facing the blower (10), a collar (34) which is inserted into the clearance (32) of the blower housing (14) together with the sheet-metal disc (20).
  4. Blower (10) according to Claim 3, characterized in that the housing (16) of the sound damper (12) has, on its side facing the blower (10), a further collar (36) which overlaps the blower housing (14) on the circumference.
  5. Blower (10) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing (16) of the sound damper (12) is fastened to the blower housing (14) by means of holding clips (18).
  6. Blower (10) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the blower housing (14) is an integral component of the housing of the electric motor (52).
