In this device, a lubricant trace is transferred to the base plates whose width corresponds to the total height of the escalator step. It is therefore consumed relatively much lubricant, and the broad lubricant trace is covered by the step band only a small part.

The invention has for its object to provide a lubricating device of the type mentioned, which does not have the aforementioned disadvantages.
This object is achieved by the invention specified in the
The advantages achieved by the invention over the above-described devices are, in particular, that the structure of the lubricating device is very simple and therefore inexpensive, that the lubricant track formed by the sliding blocks or brushes is relatively narrow and therefore lubricant-saving, and that the narrow lubricant track so can be arranged that it is largely covered by the escalator steps or the pavement pallets. The risk of fouling escalator or moving walk users can thus be greatly reduced.
