In the cleaning device installation step, the worker installs the cleaning device 10 for at least one step 2 by exchanging the guide pad 8 with the cleaning body support 11 to which the cleaning body 12 is attached in advance. For each step 2, two cleaning devices 10 are installed instead of the left and right guide pads 8.
In step S102, a sliding process is performed. In the sliding step, the worker operates the passenger conveyor including step 2 in which the cleaning device is installed. In the sliding step, for example, the operation of the passenger conveyor is continued until the step 2 makes a circular movement for one round or more. In the sliding step, the cleaning body 12 slides while coming into contact with the surface of the skirt guard 9, so that the dirt on the skirt guard 9 is removed in the outward and return passes of step 2.
In step S103, a cleaning device removal process is performed. In the cleaning device removal step, the worker removes all the cleaning devices 10 installed in one or more steps 2. The guide pad 8 is attached again to the step 2 where the cleaning device 10 has been removed.
According to the first embodiment described above, the cleaning body support 11 is attached to the step 2 below the tread 5. The cleaning body 12 is supported by the cleaning body supporting portion 11, and contacts the skirt guard 9 in a state where the cleaning body supporting portion 11 is attached in step 2. When the passenger conveyor is operated with the cleaning device 10 installed, the cleaning body 12 removes dirt on the skirt guard 9. Therefore, the cleaning work of the skirt guard 9 can be easily performed.
Further, the support surface 11a of the cleaning body support portion 11 is formed so as to be inclined, for example, so that at least one end portion in the front-rear direction of step 2 moves away from the skirt guard 9 when viewed in the vertical direction. The cleaning body 12 is supported, for example, along the support surface 11 a of the cleaning body supporting portion 11. In this case, the shearing force applied to the cleaning body 12 when the step 2 moves in the direction in which the support surface 11a has an inclination can be reduced, and the cleaning body 12 can be prevented from peeling off. Therefore, when performing at least one of the ascending operation and the descending operation of the passenger conveyor, the life of the cleaning body 12 can be improved.
Further, the support surface 11a of the cleaning member support portion 11 is formed so as to be inclined, for example, so that both end portions in the front-rear direction of step 2 are away from the skirt guard 9 when viewed in the vertical direction. The cleaning body 12 is supported, for example, along the support surface 11 a of the cleaning body supporting portion 11. In this case, the life of the cleaning body 12 can be improved when performing either the ascending operation or the descending operation of the passenger conveyor.
Further, the cleaning body 12 can be attached to and detached from the cleaning body support portion 11, for example. In this case, the cleaning device 10 can be repeatedly used only by replacing the cleaning body 12, so that the cost can be reduced.
Also, the cleaning body 12 is made of felt, for example. In this case, dirt accumulated on the surface of the skirt guard 9 can be removed by scraping off with a felt. Therefore, cleaning efficiency can be improved.
Further, the method for cleaning the passenger conveyor includes, for example, an exchange step of attaching the cleaning body supporting portion 11 supporting the cleaning body 12 that contacts the skirt guard 9 to the guide pad 8 to attach it to step 2. The method of cleaning the passenger conveyor includes, for example, a sliding step of operating the passenger conveyor including Step 2 in which the cleaning body supporting unit 11 is attached. That is, the skirt guard 9 can be cleaned only by temporarily replacing the guide pad 8 in step 2 with the cleaning device 10 and operating the passenger conveyor. Therefore, the cleaning work of the skirt guard 9 can be easily performed.
As mentioned above, this invention can be used for cleaning the skirt guard of a passenger conveyor.
