Description

  • L'invention concerne un dispositif anti-perforation réalisé en matériau composite à matrice organique pour articles chaussants et notamment pour chaussures ou bottes de sécurité.
  • Elle concerne également les articles chaussants pour lesquels on recherche une résistance à la perforation et/ou à la coupure, mettant en oeuvre un tel dispositif.
  • Dans de nombreuses industries, l'utilisation de chaussures de sécurité munies de dispositifs anti-perforation est requise.
  • Ces dispositifs font généralement appel à des plaques métalliques planes ou formées qui sont incluses dans la matière plastique ou caoutchouteuse des semelles de marche ou d'usure.
  • Cette technique, bien que parfaitement adaptée pour éviter les blessures ou coupures par des objets tranchants ou pointus traversant la semelle, présente néanmoins des inconvénients secondaires découlant de la présence de métal, rigidité de la semelle très nuisible pour le confort, poids fortement accru de la chaussure, mauvaise isolation thermique (effet de froid ou de chaud), conductibilité électrique pouvant entraîner un risque d'électrocution, magnétisme, corrosion du métal par la transpiration.
  • Pour remédier à ces inconvénients, on a proposé de remplacer les plaques de métal par des matériaux composites à structure sandwich faisant appel à des résines plastiques et à des fibres ou mats de renfort.
  • En effet, il est courant d'utiliser des matériaux composites à base d'un mélange de résine et de fibres de renforcement dans le domaine de la fabrication d'articles chaussants. Ainsi, par WO-A-9600512, on a proposé de réaliser la semelle d'un patin à glace à l'aide de fibres encapsulées dans de la résine thermoplastique de manière à obtenir un module de flexibilité et une rigidité élevés tout en présentant un faible poids de la semelle.
  • Ce type de matériaux est également couramment utilisés pour réaliser des inserts orthopédiques. Ainsi, par US-A-4 813 090, on connaît un insert orthopédique constitué de couches de fibres de Kevlar (marque déposée) tissées renforcées par des fibres de graphite et de verre reliées par un adhésif thermodurcissable. L'insert ainsi obtenu présente des propriétés particulières liées à la distribution des fibres ainsi qu'un faible poids, une résistance élevée, une résistance aux impacts, à l'usure et au fluage ainsi que la possibilité d'amortir les vibrations. Dans EP-A-0 777 982, l'utilisation d'une semelle constituée de couches de fibres, par exemple aramides, permet de renvoyer vers le pied de l'utilisateur l'énergie après contact avec le sol.
  • Par US-A-5338600, on connaît un insert orthopédique constitué d'un matériau composite présentant une structure sandwich telle qu'un noyau central de matière thermoplastique entre deux couches de matériau tissé, par exemple en fibres aramide, lesdites couches tissées étant recouvertes par des couches additionnelles de matière thermoplastique qui, pressées sur les couches de tissés, lient lesdites couches de tissés au noyau de résine thermoplastique. Cet insert comporte en outre une couche d'un élastomère conférant à l'ensemble une résistance aux impacts et à l'usure. Les couches de tissés sont suffisamment épaisses pour conférer à l'insert orthopédique une résistance et une rigidité tout en présentant une résistance à la flexion optimale.
  • Cependant, aucun de ces matériaux ne vise à présenter des propriétés anti-perforation et plus spécifiquement répondant à la norme EN 344 (force de perforation > 1 100 N).
  • Ainsi, lorsqu'on a tenté de remplacer les plaques de métal traditionnelles incluses dans les semelles de marche par des structures sandwich faisant appel à des résines plastiques et à des fibres ou mats de renfort, tel que décrit dans les brevets US-A-5285583, PCT-A-96/26655 ou PCT-A-97/04675, il s'est avéré que, pour atteindre les critères très stricts de résistance à la perforation de la nonne EN 344 (force de perforation > 1.100 N), ces matériaux composites sont relativement épais (≥ 1,5 mm) et souvent constitués d'un nombre de couches important.
  • Il s'ensuit alors une impossibilité de substitution de ces derniers aux plaques métalliques sur les chaînes actuelles de fabrication sans modification importante desdites chaînes.
  • C'est pourquoi on est obligé, comme c'est le cas dans les documents précédemment cités et pour mettre en oeuvre des dispositifs composites anti-perforation, d'utiliser des techniques d'injection multiple impliquant des outillages élaborés et donc coûteux qui nécessitent un enrobage à coeur du dispositif anti-perforation dans la matière élastomérique composant la semelle de marche.
  • Dans FR-A-2572260, constituant l'état de la technique le plus proche de la présente invention, on a proposé une chaussure de sécurité comportant une semelle de protection incorporée dans la semelle d'usure et constituée d'une texture fibreuse indémaillable de type tricot réalisée au moyen de fibres aramide. On obtient ainsi une semelle de protection, en particulier résistante à la perforation tout en étant souple contrairement aux plaques métalliques. Cette semelle de protection est découpée de manière simple dans un tissu indémaillable à base de fibres aramides et peut se substituer facilement aux plaques métalliques sur la chaîne de fabrication des articles chaussants.
  • Cependant, une telle semelle de protection constituée d'une simple structure de fibres tricotées ne permet pas de répondre aux critères de résistance à la perforation définis par la norme EN 344 (force de perforation > 1100 N).
  • Le but de l'invention est donc de remédier à ces inconvénients en proposant un dispositif anti-perforation pour articles chaussants, en particulier de sécurité répondant aux critères de résistance à la perforation de la norme EN 344 et susceptible de remplacer, par simple substitution sur les chaînes de fabrication existantes, les plaques métalliques habituellement utilisées dans les semelles de marche.
  • A cet effet, l'invention a pour objet un dispositif anti-perforation réalisé en matériau composite à matrice organique pour articles chaussants, en particulier de sécurité, obtenu par découpe d'une matrice mère du matériau composite aux formes et dimensions requises pour l'utilisation, caractérisé en ce que le matériau composite est constitué d'au moins une couche de tissu à base de fibres aramide et/ou polyéthylène, lesdites fibres étant imprégnées d'une résine polymère thermodurcissable ou thermoplastique, la part de résine dans le matériau composite étant inférieure à 35% en poids global.
  • Ainsi, de manière surprenante, on obtient selon l'invention, un dispositif anti-perforation répondant aux exigences de la norme EN 344 tout en présentant une bonne souplesse, un poids léger et une épaisseur permettant de substituer ce dispositif anti-perforation aux plaques métalliques sans modification notable de l'outil de production des articles chaussants.
  • De préférence, la part de résine dans le matériau composite est inférieure à 15% en poids global. On obtient alors de manière avantageuse, un dispositif anti-perforation mince, très résistant à la perforation, léger en poids et dont la souplesse est favorisée ce qui assure un grand confort aux utilisateurs.
  • En effet, afin d'éviter de rendre la chaussure de sécurité inconfortable pour l'utilisateur par une trop grande rigidité de la semelle, il est important que le matériau composite présente une flexibilité élevée, telle que son module de flexion, déterminé suivant la norme EN 63 ou ISO 178, soit inférieur à 6000 MPa, préférentiellement inférieur à 3000 MPa, et que sa contrainte de flexion maximale déterminée suivant la norme EN 63 ou ISO 178 soit inférieure à 200 MPa, préférentiellement inférieure à 100 MPa.
  • De préférence, le dispositif anti-perforation selon l'invention est composé d'un nombre de couches de tissus inférieur à 10 et préférentiellement de 1 à 5. on respecte ainsi les épaisseurs maximales et on optimise les critères de résistance à la perforation.
  • De préférence, les tissus utilisés sont à base de fibres aramide du type disponible sous la marque KEVLAR 49 et/ou à base de fibres polyéthylène du type disponible sous la marque DYNEEMA.
  • On utilise de préférence un tissu dont la densité de tissage est supérieure à 4 fils/cm, et de préférence supérieure à 10 fils/cm.
  • Selon une forme de réalisation préférée, on utilise une structure de tissage des fibres aramides et/ou des fibres polyéthylène du type taffetas.
  • Selon encore une autre caractéristique de l'invention, l'épaisseur du dispositif anti-perforation prêt à l'emploi est inférieure à 1,4 mm et préférentiellement comprise entre 0,7 et 1,4 mm. Sa masse surfacique est inférieure à 2000 g/m2 et préférentiellement comprise entre 700 et 1400 g/m2. Il s'ensuit un dispositif anti-perforation constituant un produit léger qui présente un gain de poids important par rapport aux plaques métalliques tout en présentant de bonnes qualités anti-perforation.
  • La matrice mère dans laquelle le dispositif anti-perforation est découpé est donc composée d'une ou de plusieurs couches de tissus à base de fibres aramide et/ou polyéthylène imprégnées d'une résine thermoplastique ou thermodurcissable et elle peut être fabriquée selon plusieurs procédés.
  • Ainsi, il est possible de réaliser d'abord une imprégnation des fibres par la résine puis d'effectuer ensuite le tissage, suivi éventuellement d'un moulage par passage à chaud de plusieurs couches superposées. On peut également tisser les fibres en couches de tissu puis imprégner chaque couche de tissu obtenu par différents procédés connus en soi (solvant, hot-met, etc...) puis réaliser ensuite un moulage par pressage à chaud des couches de tissu imprégnées empilées. Il est également possible de réaliser le tissage des couches de tissu puis de réaliser un empilement alterné de couche de tissu et de couche de résine puis de réaliser ensuite un moulage par pressage à chaud de cet empilement.
  • La résine constitue le liant entre les fibres mais également entre les couches ce qui confère au matériau réalisé des qualités excellentes de résistance à la perforation tout en offrant un produit mince et souple.
  • Le dispositif anti-perforation est dans la plupart des cas un isolant électrique. Néanmoins, dans certains cas, il peut être souhaitable que la semelle ait une fonction antistatique ou conductrice de l'électricité (conforme à la Norme EN 344). Cet effet antistatique peut être obtenu par apport dans ou sur le matériau composite, d'éléments conducteurs du type charges, fibres ou additifs tels que noir ou fibres de carbone, poudres métalliques, etc.. . Par ailleurs, le phénomène antistatique ou conducteur peut être obtenu par différents autres dispositifs visant à assurer une conduction entre la semelle première et la semelle de marche.
  • Il est possible d'obtenir un tel dispositif anti-perforation conducteur ou antistatique de deux manières différentes.
  • Ainsi, selon une approche massique, on introduit une charge ou un additif dans la résine thermoplastique ou thermodurcissable avant que celle-ci n'imprègne les fibres. Ces charges sont du type noir de carbone, poudre métallique, fibres de carbone ou métalliques, polymères conducteurs ou des additifs divers tels que des amines, des amides, des esters, des composés ioniques, etc.. .
  • L'autre approche est une approche « surfacique » dans laquelle on effectue une modification superficielle de la matrice mère de manière à rendre ses deux surfaces conductrices. Ceci est réalisé par dépôt chimique, métallisation, application d'une peinture conductrice, incorporation d'un film ou d'un grillage conducteur à la surface de la matrice mère.
  • Les articles chaussants du type comportent une semelle d'usure, une semelle de propreté et une tige, mettant en oeuvre le dispositif anti-perforation suivant l'invention peuvent être fabriqués de toutes manières envisageables par l'homme du métier dès lors que ledit dispositif se trouve lié par couture, collage, ou tout autre mode de fixation à la partie inférieure de la semelle première et que la semelle de marche puisse être solidarisée ultérieurement à l'ensemble préalablement constitué. C'est ainsi que l'on peut envisager d'injecter ou de vulcaniser la semelle de marche directement sur le dispositif ou de lier par collage ou piquage ladite semelle fabriquée par ailleurs.

  • Le dispositif anti-perforation 5 et comme représenté dans le dessin, est composé dans le présent exemple de 4 couches d'un tissu type taffetas en fibres aramides disponibles sous la marque KEVLAR ® 49, dont la densité de tissage est 10 fils/cm, imprégné d'une résine thermodurcissable, préférentiellement de nature phénolique à raison de 15% en poids de résine par rapport au poids global ou total. Mais on aurait pu également utiliser d'autres résines thermodurcissables du type époxyde, ou polyester ou vinylester, ou thermoplastiques du type polyéthylène, polyétherimide, polyphénylène sulfure, polyamide. Après polymérisation par passage à chaud, on obtient ainsi une matrice mère de matériau composite sous forme d'un tissu imprégné de 1 mm d'épaisseur et de masse surfacique 1040 g/m2. Le matériau composite est ensuite découpé aux formes et dimensions choisies pour la semelle.
  • Un tel dispositif mis en oeuvre dans la chaussure permet un gain de poids de l'ordre de 70% par rapport aux plaques métalliques, répond aux critères de sécurité imposés par la norme EN 344, constitue un isolant thermique, électrique ou magnétique si souhaité, et procure par sa flexibilité un confort accru par rapport aux solutions traditionnelles. De préférence, le module de flexion est inférieur à 6000 MPa.

Claims (17)

  1. Dispositif anti-perforation réalisé en matériau composite à matrice organique pour articles chaussants, en particulier de sécurité, obtenu par découpe d'une matrice mère dudit matériau composite aux dimensions et formes requises pour l'utilisation,
    caractérisé en ce que ledit matériau composite est constitué d'au moins une couche de tissu à base de fibres aramide et/ou polyéthylène, lesdites fibres étant imprégnées d'une résine polymère thermodurcissable ou thermoplastique, la part de résine dans le matériau composite étant inférieure à 35% en poids global.
  2. Dispositif selon la revendication 1,

  6. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5,
    caractérisé en ce que la densité de tissage du tissu est supérieure à 4 fils/cm, de préférence supérieure à 10 fils/cm.
  7. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6,
    caractérisé en ce que la structure de tissage des fibres d ' aramide et/ou des fibres polyéthylène est du type taffetas.
  8. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 7,
    caractérisé en ce que les fibres aramides sont du type de celles disponibles sous la marque KEVLAR 49.
  9. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 8,
    caractérisé en ce que les fibres polyéthylène sont du type de celles disponibles sous la marque DYNEEMA.
  10. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 9,
    caractérisé en ce que l'épaisseur dudit dispositif anti-perforation prêt à l'emploi est inférieure à 1,4 mm et préférentiellement comprise entre 0,7 et 1,4 mm.
  11. Dispositif selon la revendication 10,
    caractérisé en ce que sa masse surfacique est inférieure à 2000 g/m2 et préférentiellement comprise entre 700 et 1400 g/m2.
  12. Dispositif selon la revendication 11,
    caractérisé en ce que sa flexibilité est telle que son module de flexion est inférieur à 6000 MPa, préférentiellement inférieur à 3000 MPa et que sa contrainte de flexion maximale est inférieure à 200 MPa, préférentiellement inférieure à 100 MPa.
  13. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 12,
    caractérisé en ce que la résine thermoplastique ou thermodurcissable comporte une charge du type noir de carbone, poudre métallique, fibres de carbone ou métalliques, polymères conducteurs ou un additif tel que des amines, des amides, des esters, des composés ioniques.
  14. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 12,
    caractérisé en ce que la matrice mère du matériau composite est modifiée superficiellement de manière à rendre ses deux surfaces conductrices par dépôt chimique ou métallisation ou application d'une peinture conductrice ou incorporation d'un film ou grillage conducteur.
  15. Article chaussant du type comportant une semelle d'usure, une semelle première et une tige et comportant un dispositif anti-perforation selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 14,
    caractérisé en ce que le dispositif anti-perforation (5) est lié par couture ou collage contre la face inférieure de la semelle première (3) dudit article chaussant.
  16. Article chaussant selon la revendication 15,
    caractérisé en ce que la semelle d'usure (6) est solidarisée ultérieurement à l'ensemble semelle première (3) et dispositif anti-perforation (5) préalablement constitué, par injection ou vulcanisation directe de la semelle d'usure, ou par collage ou piquage de cette dernière fabriquée par ailleurs.
  17. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications 15 et 16,
    caractérisé en ce que des fibres, charges ou additifs, conducteurs de l'électricité sont disposés dans ou sur le dispositif anti-perforation.
