Definitions
- the invention relates to a support system for super insulation in the annular gap between flexible corrugated pipes.
- Such flexible corrugated tubes are used as transfer lines for refrigerants such. B. liquid helium or liquid nitrogen.
- refrigerants such. B. liquid helium or liquid nitrogen.
- Another large area of application are superconductor cables, which with helium, or high-temperature superconductors, which, for. B. cooled with nitrogen and drawn into a flexible corrugated tube.
- the corrugated pipe to be insulated is wrapped with super insulation, which opens in an evacuated annular gap between two corrugated pipes.
- contact between the outer corrugated pipe and super insulation by spacers should be avoided.
- a superconductor with a spacer consisting of four intertwined plastic tubes that are wrapped around the superinsulation to center the inner corrugated tube on the outside and one Avoid contact between super insulation and outer corrugated pipe.
- a major disadvantage of this arrangement is that the thermal resistance of the superinsulation is considerably reduced by the radial pressure being taken up by the spacer.
- the superinsulation is interrupted after relatively large distances for support between the inner and outer pipe. The quality of the super insulation is therefore not impaired by radial loads and the relatively large heat transfer at the support points is kept low by the large distances between the support points in relation to the heat flow transferred per unit length. Due to possible curvatures, flexible lines are shortened accordingly depending on the minimum bending radius of the cable.
- the object of the invention is to provide a support system with high heat resistance for flexible lines.
- the invention achieves a separation of insulation and support system at such short distances as is necessary for the centering of the corrugated pipe while maintaining the minimum bending radius, the heat conduction portion due to the support system due to a small number of contact points relevant to the heat conduction, small contact and cross-sectional areas and relatively large lengths between the support points on the inner and outer corrugated pipe is kept small.
- FIG. 1 shows an isometric illustration of the insulation structure with the support system between two corrugated pipes with step cuts
- FIG. 2 shows a cross-sectional drawing of the insulation structure with the support system
- FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section of the insulation structure with the support system to illustrate the Support between the corrugated pipes through the support system.
- the invention consists essentially of rods 1 which, distributed over the circumference, are alternately fastened to rings 2 on the inside and outside. This creates a cylindrical scaffold. Three of these cylindrical scaffolds are concentric between! the inner and outer corrugated pipes 5, 4, the two inner frames between the respective support points being wrapped with super insulation 3. To support this Scaffolds are each connected to some of the rods 1 of the respective inner frame distributed on the outside of the circumference of the rings 2 with some of the rods 1 of the next outer frame distributed on the inside of the circumference of the rings 2.
- the connection points between the concentrically arranged cylindrical frames should be evenly distributed over the circumference.
- the connection between the inner and the middle frame should be offset in the direction of the line to the connection between the middle and the outer frame.
- the distances between the supports essentially depend on the minimum bending radius of the overall arrangement and the radially occurring load.
- the support system is shown isometrically in FIG. 1.
- the individual concentric layers are shown from left to right as they follow one another. On the left you can see the inner corrugated tube 5. This is followed on the outside by a layer of rods 1 which are alternately fastened to the inside and outside of rings 2, as a result of which a cylindrical scaffold is formed.
- a first layer of super insulation 3 lies on this frame, followed by a second cylindrical frame, another layer of super insulation 6, a third cylindrical frame and the outer corrugated tube 4 on top of it. All three frames are constructed similarly. They are held against each other at a concentric distance by connecting elements, not shown here.
- FIG. 2 shows a cross section (perpendicular to the axis of symmetry) through a support system as shown in FIG. 1.
- the bars 1 are points that lie alternately inside and outside of the rings 2.
- FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section through a support system, as shown in FIG. 1.
- the axis of symmetry is shown in dashed lines on the right. There were two cuts
- the inner framework which touches the inner corrugated tube 5, creates a distance from the first super insulation film 3, whereby the following advantages with regard to the insulation quality are achieved.
- the heat transfer through a super insulation layer 3 consists of the proportions of heat radiation, residual gas heat conduction and solid-state heat conduction z. B. together by spacer materials between the individual super insulation films of a super insulation layer 3, 6. Due to the non-linearity of the radiant heat transfer, the respective temperature difference between two adjacent super insulation foils increases with a decreasing temperature level. With ideal laying, the greatest temperature difference thus occurs between the cold wall to be insulated and the first adjacent super insulation film 3. This means that the heat transfer due to radiation decreases with decreasing temperature level, while the heat transfer increases due to the effects of heat conduction.
- the thermal resistance due to the effects of heat conduction should be particularly high.
- the thermal thermal resistance is the lowest here, since the mechanical stress is greatest and the evacuation conditions are worst.
- the invention here increases the thermal resistance for heat transfer due to the effects of heat conduction, in that on the one hand the number of contact points relevant to the heat conduction is limited to the points of contact between the rods 1 and the rings 2 by the special structure of the cylindrical frame, and on the other hand the evacuation conditions on the insulation cold corrugated tube 5 can be improved.
- the insulation to be insulated is wrapped directly cold wall with super insulation 3 are created by the cover with super insulation 3 between the corrugations of the corrugated tube practically closed cells that are difficult to evacuate.
- the invention creates a distance between the corrugated pipe and the first adjacent super insulation film, so that closed cells of this type are avoided by the special structure of the cylindrical frame. The invention thus creates improved evacuation conditions directly on the cold wall by creating a free flow space for the residual gas along the rods 1.
- the division of the super insulation layers into two layers offers the advantage that the optimal number of layers with regard to the layer density, i.e. the number of layers per unit of insulation thickness, can be maintained for the two layers, while experience has shown that a simple wrapping with the same total number of films leads to an increased layer density and would lead to a higher effective thermal conductivity through the insulation layer.
- the evacuation conditions between the two superinsulation layers 3, 6 are further improved by the central cylindrical frame.
- the displacement of the support between the inner and middle and between the middle and outer cylindrical frame offers the advantage that even at these separation points between insulation and support system, a whole super insulation layer 3, 6 is always effective.
