Definitions
- the invention is in the field of detergent surfactants and relates to a new process for Manufacture of certain anionic surfactants in granular form.
- Alk (en) yl phosphates which are also aptly referred to simply as phosphoric acid esters are characterized by excellent detergent properties and high ecotoxicological compatibility. For this reason, these anionic surfactants are becoming increasingly important.
- liquid formulations such as dishwashing detergents or hair shampoos, there is now also a market need for solid, water-free forms of supply that can also be worked into powder detergents, toothpastes or syndet soaps, for example.
- liquid surfactant preparations are usually dried using conventional ones Spray drying, in which the aqueous surfactant paste at the top of a tower in the form of fine droplets sprayed, which hot drying gases are directed towards.
- Spray drying in which the aqueous surfactant paste at the top of a tower in the form of fine droplets sprayed, which hot drying gases are directed towards.
- the drastic conditions lead however, often leads to signs of hydrolysis, undesirable discoloration of the products, caking the walls of the spray towers and subsequently contaminate the dry material by charred Residues.
- the repeatedly required cleaning of the towers also leads to downtimes, which sometimes makes the process expensive.
- Another problem is that The prior art method is not the most preferred heavy powder with a Bulk density above 500 g / l with a greatly reduced dust content. Just however, these two parameters are economic, application-related and safety-related Reasons of particular importance.
- the complex object of the present invention has been to provide aqueous alkyl and / or Alkenyl phosphate pastes with as little technical effort as possible, preferably without Use of inorganic or organic carriers in practically water- and dust-free granules to be transferred, which at the same time is characterized by an acceptable color quality, a high bulk density, a granulometry in which at least 50% by weight of the particles have a diameter of less than 0.6 mm have good flowability, satisfactory storage stability and compared to the products of the prior art by at least comparable application properties award.
- the invention relates to a process for the preparation of low-water and low-dust alkyl and / or Alkenyl phosphate granules with high bulk density, in which aqueous pastes of alkyl and / or alkenyl phosphate salts with a solids content of at least 20% by weight in the fluidized bed or in the thin layer to a residual water content below 2.5% by weight dries at the same time and brings it into pieces.
- both the simultaneous drying and granulation in the fluidized bed and the thin bed are equally suitable, aqueous alkyl and / or Converting alkenyl phosphate pastes into dry, light-colored, free-flowing and non-sticky granules, without product discoloration and caking on the walls.
- the products have a high bulk density in the range from 500 to 700 g / l and a grain size distribution more than 50% by weight of all particles have a diameter of less than 0.6 mm, which leads to a reduction the undesirable water absorption and caking of the particles. On this also ensures high storage stability. At the same time, they are practically dust-free, i.e. the proportion of particles with a diameter of less than 200 ⁇ m is less than 5% by weight.
- Alkyl or alkenyl phosphates are known anionic surfactants which are usually prepared by condensing fatty alcohols with diphosphorus pentoxide or orthophosphoric acid. Overviews on this topic have been published by RSCooper et al. in J.Am.Oil.Chem.Soc. 41, 337 (1964), H. Distler et al. in Tens.Deterg. 12 , 263 (1975), K. Hennig in Seifen- ⁇ le-Fette-Wwachs 102, 221 (1976) and AJO'Lennick et al. in Soap, Cosm.Chem.Spec. 7 , 26 (1986) .
- R 1 is a linear or branched alkyl and / or alkenyl radical having 6 to 22 carbon atoms and R 2 and R 3 independently of one another are hydrogen, alkali, alkaline earth metal, ammonium or R 1 .
- Alkyl phosphates are preferably used in which R 1 is alkyl radicals having 12 to 18 carbon atoms and R 2 and R 3 are alkali.
- Typical examples are the phosphates of capron alcohol, caprylic alcohol, 2-ethylhexyl alcohol, capric alcohol, lauryl alcohol, isotridecyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, palmoleyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, isostearyl alcohol, oleyl alcohol, aridol alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol, linoleyl alcohol,
- Aqueous pastes of alkyl and / or alkenyl phosphates are usually used which have an anionic surfactant content in the range from 20 to 60% by weight and preferably around 50% by weight.
- a first possibility for the preparation of the agents consists in the aqueous surfactant pastes of a fluidized bed granulation ("SKET" granulation).
- SKET fluidized bed granulation
- a granulation below to understand simultaneous drying which is preferably carried out batchwise or continuously.
- the granulation is carried out at fluidizing air speeds in the range from 1 to 8 m / s.
- the granules are preferably discharged from the fluidized bed by means of a size classification the granules.
- the classification can be done, for example, by means of a screening device or by a reverse air flow (classifier air) take place, which is regulated so that only particles from one certain particle size removed from the fluidized bed and smaller particles in the fluidized bed be held back.
- the inflowing air usually settles out of the heated or unheated Classifier air and the heated soil air together.
- the soil air temperature is between 80 and 400, preferably 160 and 190 ° C, while the actual drying usually at Temperatures in the range of 75 to 100 ° C takes place.
- a starting mass for example a granulate from an earlier experiment, submitted.
- the simultaneous drying and granulation can alternatively also take place in a horizontally arranged thin-film evaporator with rotating internals, such as that sold by the VRV company under the name "Flash-Dryer".
- this is a tube that can be heated to different temperatures over several zones.
- the paste-like feed material which is metered in via a pump, is flung against the heated wall by means of one or more shafts, which are provided with blades or shares of flies as rotating internals at temperatures of usually 100 to 200 ° C.
- the thin-film evaporator is operated at atmospheric conditions or reduced pressure and gassed in countercurrent with air (throughput 50 to 150 m 3 / h).
- the gas inlet temperature is usually 20 to 30 ° C, the outlet temperature 100 to 130 ° C.
- the throughput is of course dependent on the size of the dryer, but is typically 5 to 15 kg / h. It is advisable to temper the pastes at 40 to 60 ° C during the feed. After drying, it has also proven to be very advantageous to place the granules, which are still around 50 to 70 ° C., on a conveyor belt, preferably an oscillating shaft, and there quickly, ie within a dwell time of 20 to 60 s, with ambient air at temperatures of cool about 30 to 40 ° C.
- the granules obtainable by the process according to the invention can then be combined with other Ingredients of powdered surface-active agents, such as tower powders for Detergent can be mixed. It is also possible to easily mix the powders in aqueous preparations to incorporate. In fact, when using the powder compared to the aqueous starting pastes no differences in the application properties were observed. Even in for example, bar granules of the combibar or syndet type can be used together with the granules Fatty acids, fatty acid salts, fatty alcohols, starch, polyglycols and the like are easily incorporated. The substances are also used as cosmetic emulsifiers.

Abstract
Description
Herstellung bestimmter anionischer Tenside in granularer Form.

221 (1976) und A.J.O'Lennick et al. in Soap, Cosm.Chem.Spec. 7, 26 (1986) zu finden. Vorzugsweise
dabei der Formel (I) folgen,
2-Ethylhexylalkohol, Caprinalkohol, Laurylalkohol, Isotridecylalkohol, Myristylalkohol, Cetylalkohol,
Palmoleylalkohol, Stearylalkohol, Isostearylalkohol, Oleylalkohol, Elaidylalkohol, Petroselinylalkohol,
Linolylalkohol, Linolenylalkohol, Elaeostearylalkohol, Arachylalkohol, Gadoleylalkohol, Behenylalkohol,
Erucylalkohol und Brassidylalkohol sowie deren technische Mischungen. Besonders bevorzugt
Palmfettalkoholen in Form ihrer Alkalisalze.
